So there's a lot of respect for his opinion by the Eagles as well as other teams around the NFL. Of course they all have their own scouts and their own draft boards and don't just copy and paste Jeremiah's top 150 to save money. But those scouts don't make the amount of money Daniel Jeremiah now makes working for the NFL Network. They have to be away from home more which is a large reason he left the Eagles to pursue an offer to work for NFL.com. I'm not sure how you figure he doesn't have an NFL job. He does. It's just not for a specific team, but it's for the NFL product. He also has a ton of connections among scouts, GMs and teams around the league, so his information isn't just from a blogger fan with a youtube channel. Another difference between Jeremiah's big board and a team's draft board is that teams have a lot of flags on players that effect where teams are comfortable taking them. That's less of a concern in Daniel Jeremiah's current job. I’m very familiar with Jeremiah and I actually enjoy listening to his opinion. I just don’t think any other teams care what he posts on NFL.com.

If you are familiar with him, then you should know why he left being a team scout for a job with the NFL. But you're siding with a dude that took Howie's joking comment as literal fact instead of just the witty sentiment it was intended to be.

The money he makes in his current job is probably 5-times what he made as a scout.
May 9, 20241 yr Howie has been on Rich Eisen and other shows, they did the all access draft day thing. Howie is all over the place.

September 29, 20241 yr Author BUMP Where are all the Howie Humpers now? Gave a monster contract to a QB after 1 good season AGAIN. Now we're stuck with a guy with a noodle arm that still can't read defenses; Spent enormous draft capital (3 first round picks and 1 3rd round pick) on the Georgia BUSTdogs; Traded Reddick and gave big money to Bryce Huff who looks like he's going in the Eagles Worst FA Pickups HOF with Nnamdi, Byron Maxwell, etc. And I wouldn't be surprised he had a say in the new coordinators as well who don't look any better than last season.
September 29, 20241 yr This is not looking good for 2 drafts and 2 years of free agency, trade deadline moves, for Howie. Several of these dudes just want to get paid. No dogs.

September 29, 20241 yr This was not a good look for Howie. This team is clearly not put together well and it’s obvious this coaching staff is not a cohesive group. It’s time for a change at the HC and possible at QB. Howie probably should be moved on from as well, but I know Lurie would never do it.

September 30, 20241 yr So of Pederson can be fired after winning the Super Bowl, and if Sirianni can eventually be fired after then Super Bowl, then why can’t Howie be held accountable for how these teams fell apart?

If you were a manager of a garage and provided nothing but the best in terms of tools (players), but the employees (HC) using those tools turn out to be morons, how much accountability should be on you, when the owner does the actual hiring of said morons?

I think thats a stretch. You could argue that the tools are too old, or not fit for purpose.
September 30, 20241 yr Howie's front 7 on D may end up being historically bad. Gonna get really ugly these last 13 games

My favorite overused adjective (in this case an adverb) from 2023! There was a historic use of that description last year. I was afraid it would be cliché this year.

I mean when healthy, we got the best oline, best WR duo, on pace to be the best RB. That's O. D. Mostly everyone was on cloud 9 when we got Davis, Dean, Carter, Smith. And now Mitchell and Dean. Weren't too many complaints about the Huff signing. It's easy to start saying shoulda coulda now that we're seeing the results. The problem is and has always been under Siri... its Sirianni. That I won't give Lurie and Roseman a pass. Yes playoffs every year and a SB appearance, but the only logical thing Siri ever did was relinquish play cacallingbut he ain't going anywhere, so we'll have to make due. It's only been 4 weeks and we're riddled with injuries. No way we produce that Offensive crap with our oline, AJ and Smitty in the lineup. In turn the D would have had rest and time to adjust (hopefully). Seasons aren't won or lost in the 1st quarter. November and December will tell us everything.

September 30, 20241 yr After doing the GM job for so many years, I'd think their grading system on prospects and especially veterans would be fairly standardized and sufficiently refined to avoid bigtime busts. It is not. I want Howie to pull off one major strategic move in player personnel. Do what it takes to get Arch Manning. That's it.

According to analytics we will do better with the Monkey as GM than Howie. Let's find that Monkey. And offer him the GM job. LOL

Are you crazy? You really think that's how this works. There is no team that is sufficiently refined to avoid big time busts....that's why LESS THAN HALF of first round picks get a second contract from the team that drafted them!
