200% more than the zero you claimed, and that was with very little thought being put into it.

😆 that was also back when we had JJ and a good coaching staff.  If we go current regime they have developed anything

These aren't the Buddy Ryan days where your Pro Bowl DTs and DEs play every down. Today defenses like to rotate guys to keep them fresh. We don't take Barnett out because it's a run down or a pass down --- only because of defensive philosophy.

Pretty sure guys like Bosa, watt, clowney, etc don’t come off the field unless their leg is falling off.  Philosophy is an excuse for not having an every down guy.  If he could do what the play calls for he’d be out there.  And before you go there...Guys like Jenkins, McLeod that played every snap here weren’t brought up here they were studs before they got here.  Give me a guy they actually drafted developed into a dominant nfl player.

Special teams ace. Who can forget.  We’re talking about developing starters on defense.  He played for like 7 years before he got a starting safety role over Sean Considine - and it took a lot of suck from Sean before that eventually happened.   And Qs pro bowl bid came after the 2 starters couldn’t go due to injury so it’s not like he went on a first ballot

He's a textbook example of developing a player. An UDFA signed as a camp body that earns a spot playing ST, becomes a backup, gets some playing time due to injuries, plays well, surpasses player drafted by team, becomes a productive full-time starter for the rest of his career.

I don't necessarily mind rebuilding or having losing seasons. The part that makes this season especially sickening to me is the blowing of significant leads. It's happened a few times this season.

I said dominant nfl player, not fringe 3 year starter 😆

It’s a different NFL today. Even Fletcher Cox is a rotational player. No matter Barnett isn’t worth his current contract. He hasn’t been terrible, but he also hasn’t been the 1st round talent everyone expected he would be either. He also makes too many boneheaded penalties. He has had games where he’s shown flashes even this year too. Maybe they bring him back on a much lower deal, but he’s kind of a frustrating player.

Well that was not fun to watch. Nor was it expected.

This coaching staff......WTF. I don't think they have gotten better as the season has progressed. Same crap, different week. Do they not gameplan for their specific oponent?

Thriving on another team.

You just described everything wrong with Barnett and how he hasn’t developed beyond just being another guy.

cox is way overpaid at this point it’s a joke.  He’s probably the one  guy they have developed in the current regime actually.  It’s a shame he’s spiraling downward fast

Barnett isn’t a guy you can count on to consistently make plays for you. He’s not an elite playmaker for a team that desperately needs them on offense and defense.

Again I’m only letting you see what the Eagles did is no different from what many teams have done. I could show more if you like. I will also add Sanders in this game had at least two plays where I recall him losing big yards on first down with carries and forcing the Eagles to throw. The Eagles also had a lot of presnap movement penalties today. This stuff kills drives and run opportunities. Doesn’t help that the defense allowed scores on 4 consecutive drives.

Why would I want to see a losing recipe? Defense did eventually get some stops and turnovers only to see pass pass pass yayyy give it back.

I totally disagree with your assessment of Barnett. People might have hoped he'd be the second coming of Reggie White, but he's not. He is a very solid DE who is not a liability at all in any area of the game. You would have to be a pretty special player to unseat him as the starter.

Not a liability? How about his brain being a liability? He makes the dumbest penalties on the team...by far.

The guy can’t stay healthy either. He’s always nicked up.

Can he put it together? Sure, but I don’t know if giving him a big contract will help the cause. This is an option year for him so you would think this would be the year he puts it all together.

What do you think the Eagles have been doing all year? You see a "losing recipe” because they keep losing.

Changing the rules?

P.S. the rule change came after the post you quoted.

Penalties are always bad. Some roughing the passer penalties may not be fair. BUT ... Then there's the "myth" of penalties --- That's the worst! ;)

Barnett has 3 penalties this year --- 2 false starts and 1 Unnecessary Roughness. I'm not overly concerned about those numbers.

The rules are a work in progress 😆  but my general premise is the same.  Shorts has to go and they need to draft and develop talent.  If we’re relying on Uber drivers to win games we have big issues.

Not as bad as I thought but it’s been a problem for his entire career. Plus, there’s penalties and there’s penalties. His always seem to be on a huge drive or a big stop.

Agreed with the fumble part, Hurts is very Carson Wentz like when it comes to fumbles..

Just get over it.  Hurts is only Hurts-like when it comes to how he plays (good or bad).

Jacquet and Pryor are two of the worst players I have ever seen in Eagles uni.  I'm including the strike games in '87.

Epps is aids too

The officials were irrelevant

irrelevant except for giving Dallas a free turnover at a critical point in the game when it was unanimously agreed that Hurts' knee was down.

Got it. Because he is the OC, though. I would like to see a REAL OC and a REAL new coach.

I would be fine with that too.  But the season Doug wasn't the OC he won a superbowl.  So I'd be happy with a new GM and new OC that calls the plays.
