Been many years since I was single and went to the clubs, but this actually worked for me on a few occasions:

”Accidentally” spill a drink on her coat or purse; pretend you were jostled or lost your balance.  Apologize profusely and offer to pay the cleaning — give them your card or number as a means of contact.  I could tell right away if the woman had any class or not; if she got excessively rude she could F off anyway, but most were nice and okay with it if you seemed apologetic.  Most times I would get a call and would meet up with them again to pay up — at which point I would ask them out 1-on-1 rather than a noisy and crowded bar.  At a minimum it was a second chance to have a conversation and find a spark.

Manipulative, but somewhat effective.  It worked better for me than "would you like to dance?”

So do you spill a vodka soda or red wine?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

My Hatch pepper seeds and paprika pepper seeds should arrive tomorrow.  Will be my first time growing Hatch peppers but they are NM Hatch peppers.  Great flavor.  Decided to grab some paprika after not being able to find smoked paprika for weeks.  My plan is to sun ripen and then smoke like my chipotles and anchos. It’s March and I am out of both chipotle and ancho so I will be increasing my planting this year of both.
Have you ever grown Brussel sprouts?  First year for those too.

NM chile is the best!  You can make all kinds of different New Mexican dishes (chile rellenos, enchiladas, burritos, stews) and takes burgers to whole different level.  I'm actually driving back to NM this weekend from Baja California Sur mostly because I need to stock up on chile lol

I learned a little bit late in the game that batting average and OBP only matter in baseball.  After you risk your awkward dignity, make an ass of yourself, get shut down once...then you realize there's no deterrent from approaching everyone you see like a lost dog.

100%.

Old guy advice coming next.  No one gives a F, but when I moved from East to West (NY to LA) 30 years ago at 26, I was still young, never married and decided to tweak my game, despite doing fine in NYC (occasional dry spells but plenty of both meaningful and less meaningful but fun encounters with women).

So the big change I made was to be fearless and say, do, and try something in every single f'ing moment I could with women.  Not surprisingly, that kind of ballsy behavior bred confidence. And of course my success grew because I was swinging away constantly. Fear went out the window. And women love confidence.

I also adopted two other big changes, both of which would still work, I think, obviously putting aside the Pandemic.  One was to FOCUS on all women.  Even the ones I wasn't attracted to.  Not like a dick, just be nice, funny, smile and act interested. Whatever, to give MY attention to THEM for even the briefest period of time.  This worked because I was practiced at making a woman feel that I was paying attention to HER, so, of course, when I liked a woman, I was already doing the paying attention thing.  Distilled down, the rule I tell my oldest grandsons is smile, even at the big girls.  Doesn't cost anything and magically women like you.

The other one is as effective as it is simple.  When we would go out, we would ALWAYS bring women.  We NEVER went out all guys.  One, it tells other women you are safe and perhaps even desirable. Two, it allows you to pick off the outliers of the other herds (kidding but not really).  You let your tribal women rub up against the other tribes and then pull them in.  How?  By having a great time.  Be a little loud, dance, flirt, whatever to draw them in and have your tribal women bring them in.

Good times...good times....

Watching some YT videos and man Wentz did not make life easy for the WRs and the o-line did not make life easy for Wentz. Not sure if we really know what we have in Reagor & Fulgham. Reagor didn’t have an off-season to get acclimated and then got hurt.

If the Eagles draft a viable #1 WR and Mailata (or Dillard?) play well, along with Hurts obviously, they might be watchable. A lot of ifs though.

I’m out on Caleb Farley after the news he’s undergoing back surgery.  I’d be fine with Surtain in the event of a trade back to #11 or 12, otherwise I think my preference is one of the Georgia CBs — Campbell, then Stokes.

Farley was always 'buyer beware' for me from his previous injury history- after the Sidney Jones Experience I can't see the Eagles risking a premium pick on him.

Greg Newsome is the CB I'd like with pick #37, but he seems to be getting late R1 vibes now. Stokes over Campbell for me, but maybe #37 would be reaching on those two. If Newsome is gone, the best value at #37 might be one of the athletic LBs to be Gannon's version of Darius Leonard. Thinking Baron Browning/Jamin Davis/Jabril Cox there, perhaps you can even afford a small trade back if two or maybe all three are still available.

Two R3 DBs to watch would be Trill Williams and Tay Gowan. Williams gives you CB/S versatility and he's an aggressive playmaker. You'd have to take the rough with the smooth with him as he develops, but this is the perfect season for that. Gowan has to be the most under-hyped player in the draft process - he has genuine 'lock-down' CB potential, but hardly anyone is talking about him.

Sounds like fun.  I've never done brussel sprouts.  They are a bit large for the yield they give, so I cant spare the space for that...  and my wife doesnt like them.

Are you going to speed up the germination process on those seeds?  Its a bit late to be starting from seed.  If heated to about 80-85 degrees, pepper seeds will sprout in only a few days.   I have had great success with the paper towel and baggie method.  Then, once sprouted you plant them into some sterile seed starting mix (using tweezers and only handling by the seed coat).

Thanks for the tips/info, gents.  Hadn't heard of Hatch peppers, but I love peppers so looked into them and found a couple sites that sell the seeds.  Also found a bunch of other pepper seeds along with tomato seeds and flowers.  I've been growing peppers (Bell in green, red, yellow and an orange-red striped variety) the past 1-2 months from seeds of peppers I bought (and ate) at my local ShopRite (which also carries Smoked Paprika powder).  Lucky for me during these cold months I have a bay window that gets good sunlight so they're perched on the ledge.  I usually buy banana pepper plants at Lowe's/Home Depot and they've done very well for me.  Have also tried some of the typical spicier varieties and they've done well.

Two sites I found with good selections (and that I just placed orders on both) for seeds:

https://renaissancefarms.org/product-category/tomato-categories/

Hundreds of varieties of tomatoes here including some really funky ones.  Also peppers, flowers, greens and herbs.

https://www.tyler-farms.com/

Dozens of pepper seeds and also tropical fruit seeds as well.

Might have to try the paper towel & baggie method.  Seems simple and solid.

Fun fact, brussel sprouts have been selectively bred over the last 30 years or so to make them sweeter. As an 80s kid, I hated the bitterness of them (and that my parents would only boil them). Now, you sprinkle some salt and drizzle with oil, roast those suckers in the oven and they're maybe the greatest veggie out there.

I am a little late for them but with my poblanos, Anaheims, Jalapeños etc. already sprouted and growing, I can wait on the Hatch chilis and I figure the paprika are like my cayennes, mostly late, fully ripened on the vine picking.  Took me a while to find a Hatch pepper vendor that I could check out to be sure they were reputable as selling seeds that actually germinate.

I don't get why people are freaking out over $3.5M.  We signed Chase Daniel to a 3 year $21M deal as a backup.

3) Put some sappy/Bulls11t in your online dating profile. Got out of a long relationship, have a great career(panty dropper) but I work long hours(couldnt be true or Bulls11t) would love to grab a beer and watch the game. I.e. I wanna F but I;m not a scumbag and flat out saying that.

I found a bigger ish hole than Charleston WV.  Huntington WV.   Man it’s like the worst parts of Johnstown and Altoona wrapped in one.  With an average looking college campus and hideous looking football stadium smack dab in the middle of it.  I feel sorry for the college kids who go to Marshall.  It truly is a dump.

Get into the backroads of WV and it is pretty impoverished but the nature is awesome.  I bet the kids in Huntington think is is heaven compared to where some of them call home.

All of these dudes in here trying to give dating pointers and "surefire" ways to come off as desirable, how to be confident, etc.

Here's the only tip you need:

Open your mouth and have a conversation if you find someone cute.

3.5M isn't much in the grand scheme of things in the NFL.  It's better than wasting a second round pick on a backup QB.

Just on Flacco - him signing is a different scenario to last year. The Eagles thought that they had a Franchise QB at a high cap number, so were looking to cheap out the QB2 role - ignoring the Hurts pick.

This year they have a inexperienced QB and are in need of a Veteran in that room and across the team.  Situations are not that comparable, and for the money, it's hardly a cap crime when there is a lot of Wentz dead money sat there. And Jeffrey's and Jackson's too.

OK so I spend evenings in this blog because I’m single and have nothing better to do. Some of you, I’m guessing, do so because you don’t feel like dealing with your wives.

If you ever miss single life, just realize this basically sums up the dating pool in today’s world...

In the same Fing boat.  Recently got out of a 5 year relationship and going back on these dating apps is just depressing.  I had fun with them back in my 20s but that's not where I'm at right now.  They are a younger man's game.

Wait, no way those numbers are true. He must have gotten that from his agent.

No hand size? His numbers look close to Daniel Jones' and Dak Prescott's.
