The sneaky good part of this trade is that we don’t have to wait forever for our picks between round 3 and 5. That was gonna suck.

I always thought a QB was in play for us. You don’t say you want to be a QB factory and then stick it out a year with Hurts, but they’re gonna end up going in the first four or five picks and clearly the cost was prohibitive. We’ve talked a bunch about the top 10 being weak, but we’re on position to get a really nice prospect at 12. Hopefully Horn or Slater or a WR. Maybe we move down again.

I do. Would be stupid as f.. but I do think that's a real possibility.  

 

I'm not a Pitts fanboy, but I was warming to the idea of bringing him here. 

My concern is that he's too slow to be an elite WR.  He's got the right height, but not the size.  If you're bringing him in to play TE, #6 is WAY TOO HIGH.   Somebody's gonna get him in the top 10.  I'm curious what his career will look like. 

Phins now have 4 picks in the top 50 , 5 in the top 100 this year

Trade down to around 25, gain 4th 2022 first rounder. That’s my hope.

OK, just to humor this game, I guess you'd trade for Watson, convert his 2021 salary to a signing bonus and amortize it over 5 years. If the base salary is dropped to 910k (league min) and you can amortize the balance over the contract, you can get his 2021 cap number down to ~$2,836,000. 

But the Texans have to eat $51.2 million. And he needs to be able to play.

I was listening to 97.5 and I think Mike Garafolo was on. He was saying that he thinks the Eagles are stockpiling picks to try to trade up to 2 for Zach Wilson. Don't shoot the messenger.

I heard it as well, and it makes sense, and they would still have a 1 next year if Wentz holds up his end of the deal.
