So literally what I said. If there are 5 QBs taken, one of those will be available

Yes assuming that 5 go. What if only 3 go? Then that changes things.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Using the Cowboys as a model organization because they paired Lamb with Cooper? GTFOH, lol. They have NOTHING on defense and have gotten bent over on their last 5 major contract extensions, including paying Zeke who immediately declined.

The Howie hatred has reached an irrational level.

In no way did I say they were a model organization.  Everyone on here was saying they were happy the Cowboys traded for Cooper because there was no way they could sign him and Dak and that they overpaid for him.  Well they have Dak, they have Cooper, they still have Zeke, despite being overpaid and on the decline and they still can bring in FA.  Meanwhile the Eagles are kicking the can down the road to fit Joe Flacco under the cap.

I have no problem giving other teams props, no matter who they are.  I hate the Cowboys but what makes it worse is I hate the fact that they are making decent moves as of late.

That would be arguably more value than we got for 6.

Getting another 2023 1 and a 2 for a trade down would be incredible.

Id drop from 12 just for a 2023 1st.

Unless Waddle is on the board. Then I just take him.

Usually picks are discounted a round per year in the future. So a 2023 first would equal a 2021 third. Say hypothetically that the Steelers are looking to trade up with us for a QB...

Eagles 2021 #12 = 1200 points

Steelers 2021 #24 = 740

Steelers 2021 #55 = 350

Steelers 2023 first = 2021 third = 150

So 1240 to our 1200. Maybe we throw in a late rounder to get it done. The problem here is that it's going to take a perfect set of circumstances. We have New England sitting at #15 who could draft a QB plus the Eagles could threaten to take him, so the potential for pressure is there, but we need to have a QB that a team really wants fall to us AND for them to be afraid either New England or the Eagles will take the guy.

I would say it with you if we weren't one of the worst teams in the NFL.  The Giants are going to be good.  They have a very nice roster.  Their defense is legit.  They have one of the best defensive backfield rooms in the NFL, they have above average linebackers and a very solid D-Line.  They improved WR, They get Barkley back and brought in Devontae Booker as a solid backup.  Kyle Rudolph, assuming his contract stays is a great #2 tight end to Evan Ingram.  Daniel Jones isn't terrible and they can improve their O-Line in the draft.  The NYG are worlds better than the Eagles.

Everyone thought the Cowboys wouldn't be able to sign any of their guys.  They have Amari Cooper locked up, Dak locked up, Zeke (overpaid) but locked up.  They have CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.  Their O-line is comparable to ours with age and injuries but still a good unit.  They have a very nice young center who we should have drafted.  They need help on defense but their corners are young with loads of potential.  They need to reload the D-Line and figure out linebacker.  The Cowboys are better than the Eagles.

I NEVER want to see our rivals get elite players.  I hate it.  I hate it more when they get elite players who I have loved watching in college.  I'm a bigger college fan than I am an Eagles fan these days.  Trading back means that the Cowboys and Giants have their choice at elite talent before we do.  You say don't worry about what they do, just what the Eagles do.  I worry more about what the Eagles do because the Cowboys and Giants draft players I want the Eagles to get while the Eagles draft trash.

The GIants SUCK. The Cowboys SUCK.

It doesn't matter what they do. What matters is what WE do.

I wish I had the tweet I saw this morning (think it was yahoo link to the article) but it said New England is likely to move up to get a QB of the niners are serious about keeping Jimmy G. Supposedly Mac jones would be the target. TIFWIW

Howie has drafted horribly. I don’t really trust him with more picks.

This year is even harder to scour players. The question is, does it even matter, with their recent "success rate” in the draft? Doesn’t seem like it.

Stay calm. Howie can find a good scrub where nobody else would think of looking.

The Eagles traded pick 15, a 4th, and a 6th to move up to pick 12 in 2012. Would you accept a similar return for trading back 3 spots?

Depends who is left on the board. If you like 3 players, sure. If not, then no.

LOL. Dude.  Trading down was the smartest thing he’s done in years.  Pretty odd reason to be the final straw.

Sure seems like there were a lot more in favor of them trading down, until you know, they traded down.

I don’t think Pitts reaches his potential in Dallas anyway.  Cooper is a very good do it all WR,  but he’s not really a true matchup nightmare or field stretcher.

Lamb isn’t much of a separator and has been more of a contested catch play to contact guy.

With those guys outside, Pitts is just playing the role of TE against a defense that already isn’t stretched out.

A really good TE?  Yea.  But forget about the Mike Evans comparisons.  And for a team that already isn’t good enough, adding a really good TE at #10 isn’t anything special.

As a tribute to @Sack that QB and his manifesto, I'm changing my avatar until the draft.  This is my etched-in-granite guarantee of the Eagles first round draft pick.

The dream cannot die until draft night and when he's the Eagles pick, I know @4for4EaglesNest will be cheering right along with me:

Probably not. I think there is a big drop off at around 13.

After fuming for 24 hours and having a day to reflect, I've decided I can no longer support this team as long as Howie Roseman remains general manager. I've always promised myself that whenever the frustration and anxiety a team causes me overtakes the joy a team brings me is the day I'd stop. Funny saying that only a few years removed from a Super Bowl, but the reality is, I haven't enjoyed sitting down to watch Eagles football aside from that one season for a long time. It's been well over a decade now. Spending my Sunday afternoons cursing at the TV, punching things, shaking my head and just being frustrated every single week. Sitting there not only disgusted at the product I'm watching, but totally bored by it. Just no interest in what's going on during the games. Spending half the time browsing news articles on my phone with the game in the background. Or demoting the Eagles to the iPad and watching a movie on the big screen. Being constantly reminded of the failures of this front office every time Curt Menefee chimes in with an update of DK Metcalf catching an 80 TD or Justin Jefferson having another 100 yard game. There's just no escaping it. The "Philadelphia Eagles experience" for me has just become not only not fun, but an anxiety-inducing experience. It no longer brings me joy, and I no longer look forward to the seasons. I actually dread them, knowing I'm about to dedicate 3 and a half hours of my life for 16 weeks watching something I don't even enjoy.

It really reached its pinnacle over the last year where they ruined Wentz, refused to fire the man responsible for it, and yesterday, passing on probably my favorite collegiate player of all-time. I wanted Chase in the worst way. I don't think I've ever coveted a prospect the Eagles could realistically draft like him. He was sitting in our laps and we gave him away.

In back to back to back years, Howie Roseman will have passed on DK Metcalf, Justin Jefferson, and Ja'Marr Chase. It's been a long time coming, but yesterday was the final straw for me. I know it's the right time to take a break from this team when I start to actively resent them. My hatred for Howie is now stronger than my love for the Eagles to the point where I can't help but actively root for him to fail just to bring me the joy of envisioning him miserable in his failures. Is that petty? Yeah, but I'm a petty vindictive person when it comes to sports, I won't deny that. Howie stole something I love from me, and I want him to pay for that.

For a second yesterday I thought "Oh, maybe this could be good if we could trade for Deshaun Watson" until I realized this dude could be suspended indefinitely by this time next season, hell he could even be in prison if these accusations are legit. Even if he gets away unscathed, there's no way in hell he's going to waive his NTC to come here. I know in my gut what's going to happen is Howie is either going to package all these picks to trade up for a QB in what looks to be a significantly weaker QB draft class. Or he'll stand pat and take player with Miami's pick, that combined with who the Eagles pick at 12 will almost assuredly not match the caliber of what Ja'Marr Chase will bring. A kid who dominated the SEC at 19 years old and may very well be the NFL's next great WR. And having to sit and be subjected to being reminded about it over and over and over again... like with Metcalf... like with Jefferson. Every Fing week. While Jalen Hurts is dropping back and throwing to absolute trash, because this wannabe football guy playing general manager has the keys to the kingdom.

It's perpetual hell. It's fandom without hope. Knowing that the guy in charge will find a way to mess it up. Every. Single. Year. The guy finally landed a draft pick impossible to mess up and he traded out of it! You can't even script it. Can't even look forward to the NFL Draft anymore. An event I've loved since I was a kid. Howie Roseman has ruined every aspect of consuming this sport that I've loved and made it a miserable experience that causes me nothing but aggravation and frustration. And I can't do it anymore.

I'll always have love for this team and organization, but until this guy is gone, I need a long break. For my mental and physical health, it's definitely taken a toll on me. I think this board has a lot of cool posters and people who I've chatted with over the years, and even though I can't enjoy watching, I hope you do. And of course wish everyone the best of health.

For example, in the below scenario, there is a big tier break after Smith and Horn. I would have no interest in moving down for a reasonable price.

Exactly. I predict there are going to be some head scratchers in the 1st round, because teams are acting on incomplete information.

Some teams are going to put too much emphasis on pro day workouts on players where there isn't enough recent film.

So if you have a good draft board, trust it, because the Eagles don't have a position of need, they have a team in need.

It's very possible that players you like drop unexpectedly, in the same fashion be prepared to trade up to snatch a player you really like if they fall well below where you expected them to be (say to the late 1st rd).

With this draft in general I think there's gonna be a ton of head scratchers in the top 100 in general.

We do suck now, but unlike either of those other teams, we have a GM with a recent super bowl ring.

Can only do that if there are still 3 players you like. If Horn is still there, I just turn in th card.

Honestly, we just need OL/QBs to go early and we're fine.

3 are probably going in the first 3 picks. Someone will panic and move up for another in the 6-10 range. Pretty safe to say 4 go before 12.

If the 49ers shock the world like some stories are saying and take Jones then it would be pretty safe to say Fields and Lance go before 12.

Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, Lance, Jones Probably gone

Slater, Pitts, Chase, Sewell  Likely gone

Smith/Surtain II/Parsons/Waddle/Horn Eagles pick...then again Howie sucks and will try to out smart everyone.
