If Slater is indeed the pick, gotta say a dream scenario could be the O-Line being set for the next 7-10 years if they draft a Center on Day 2 as well.

LT - Dillard

LG - Seumalo

C - Creed/Landon/Meinerz

RG - Slater

RT - Mailata

Even in the event that Dillard is indeed a bust, you move Slater to tackle.

I don't disagree with Slater, I would disagree with a second early pick invested in the line. We can get additional line help at guard/center late.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

There’s always a disconnect between internet scouts/draft "experts” and real front offices, especially outside the top 10. I think Slater might be one of those if teams are gun shy about his T. rex arms.

Looking at the draft value chart, 31 + 27 (Baltimore's 1st) is roughly the value of 12.

That's a tough call for me. There's no elite prospect, but would you rather have one of Horn/Surtain/Smith/Slater or 2 of Davis/Paye/Bateman/Collins/Newsome/Barmore/Tryon/Moehrig.

I'd think about that honestly. This team needs, a ton. I'd try for an extra sweetener pick next year or even 2023 and then seriously think about it. There will be linebackers for Gannon's system, o-linemen, WR's, DL... Plenty of talent in that area, if they let Weidl make the decisions then I'd go for it.

Yea, try to squeeze another pick...maybe a 4th.  If we can turn 11 picks over 7 rounds plus Ertz in to 8-9 picks  in the first 4 rounds where presumably all of the talent is, that would be ideal.

I want as many players as possible but if that drop in talent is so drastic then the Eagles need to load up before the good talent is gone.

Come away with 2 WR, 1 LB, 2 CB, S, RB, OL, TE and I would be happy.

I'd take the sweetener next year or 2023. I think it's a 3 year process, and that's if we are successful with free agency and drafts. So I'd take it in a later year.

Oh for sure.  The potential 3 first round picks next year is huge though.  There are some huge questions though regarding the next draft and those picks.

-Where do our picks fall?  Eagles top 5.  Indy (if a 1st) 16-20,  Miami top 15?

-Did Hurts prove his is the QB moving forward?

-What players are available in the draft?

-What veterans are available via trade?  Does a 1st bring back an established but young CB or DT?

-What teams might want to trade up?

-Did Miles Sanders sign a new contract here?

-Did Mailata/Dillard pan out?

-Is WR solved?

Those are just some of the many questions headed in to next years draft that I'm already thinking about.

Based on players currently on the roster, I would say the biggest needs next year are DE, CB and DT.  This is assuming Hurts, Mailata and Dillard all develop.

If the Eagles do have 3 1sts next year, I think at least 1 of them is used to trade back to get even more picks.

2022 could be a STACKED draft.  The Eagles are in prime position.  They just have to not F up the 2021 draft and not be tempted by trading 3 1sts for Watson or Wilson.  They could truly reinvent this team over the next 2 drafts.

 1 Eagles' own pick
 1 From Dolphins
 2 Eagles' own pick
2  From Colts, via Carson Wentz trade (can become a 1)
 3 Eagles' own pick
 4 Eagles' own pick
 5 Eagles' own pick
 6 Eagles' own pick
 7 Eagles' own pick

This is from the website of a RPS league in Philly that Sirianni probably already belongs to.

You can learn a lot more about RPS here http://rpscityleague.com/pro-rps/advanced-strategies/

"Mystical” Schools

Finally, it bears mentioning that there are also "Mystical Schools” of RPS. These instruct students to select their throw based on some inner force, higher power, or telepathic premonition. Such approaches vary so widely among themselves and results are so mixed (or mixed-up!) that there is no point in trying to catalogue or categorize them. Nevertheless, the well-trained RPS player will be aware that these schools exist and know their basic tenets.

Why not tic tac toe ?

Anyone with any skill, unless they are playing someone without, should play to a draw in tic tac toe.

I am really commenting on the behavior of Eagles fans. I expect the Eagles to do poorly next season. Consequently, the fanbase will conclude that Sirianni sucks.

Curious by what margin do you think he would need to exceed expectations to avoid that? I'd put the over under on the Eagles win total this year at 5.5 / 6 so a .500 record would be a good first year but I don't think that pleases a lot of Eagles fans who are notoriously impatient.

Sixers are gonna get worked. Joel will have no gas and for once, I can’t blame him.

I win all the time against my 4-year old daughter... I'm hyper-competitive and hence a winner (she's just hyper, but she will learn the way).

First of all, never. 2nd of all do you honestly believe,  say Lamb or Jefferson,  would look good last year? Because if you do in fact believe that, you need the weed.

Not sure how you evaluate accurate qbs and very inaccurate qbs.

Mmmm okay. Not sure what this has to do with how scrambled your post was.

No, it is not a media overblown narrative. Sirianni volunteered the information at a press conference. We became aware of said comments and have been discussing them. The "media" is not driving this, at least in here.

It is just a lazy intellectual argument to blame everything on the media.

Well, I didn't want to blame you. But you're making me.

For the record,  message boards are social media,  I should have pointed that out.

That’s the advantage of hiring a young staff.  Expectations should be tempered for the first couple of seasons.  The majority of the Eagles talent is 30+ players who will be phased out over the next 2-3 seasons.  Fans have to realize this is a full rebuild and players like Graham, Cox, Slay, Kelce, etc. will be gone before another deep playoff run happens.  How quickly the rebuild gets accomplished will depend on the development of Goedert, Reagor, Seumalo, Dillard, Hurts, and the picks coming in this year and next.

It would be foolish to change over the coaching staff again, at least for 3 years.  Flushing this one out after a bad season or two is what makes organizations become the Jets and Browns futility.  I believe the 2021 Eagles will be a bit better than most people think.  I see 6-7 wins

Sorry you couldn't figure it out, most did. Good or bad.

Or just find a C later. Our C for the last decade has been a 6th round pick. The decade before that was two undrafted free agents. Everyone was banging the table for the last pick in the 4th round last year for Biadasz. I don’t want to spend a premium pick like 37 on a C.

If I’m Howie I’m talking to the Ravens about Orlando Brown jr.. Not too often are pro bowl LTs available. People get way too infatuated with unproven prospects. Honestly, pick 12 straight up for him would be more than reasonable
