Oh and BTW.  JT is a Phillie...again!

Thankfully. Would’ve been a disaster. 5 for 115.5 which makes him the highest annual average salary for a catcher at 23.1

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

GD DAMN YOU!!!!!!!!!!! In both threads!!!!!!

Nah.  I would have been ok with not spending that kind of long term money on a catcher.  Now, move him to 1st and move Rhys then I would be cool.  But they just threw more money at that stiff....sooo....that's not gonna happen.

I believe when Realmuto gets to 33 he likely plays first and if there’s a universal DH he is there DH. They unfortunately put themselves in this position to pay him that because of what they traded for him and not getting him locked up long term at that point in time. They had to know he was going to ask for highest average annual salary at time of the trade

Not surprisingly, I thought it was a mess. We run a zone blocking scheme and the key to that in the run game is a double-team block and release by one of the blockers to the second level. That block comes in two parts - the double-team and the release. On the double team, the two blockers have to hit the defender simultaneously and with no space between them so that the defender can't split it. With all the changes, the timing on this blocks wasn't there. Guys were not hitting simultaneously. That allows the defender the chance to beat the first block or at least stone it so the hole is not there. The second part, the release, requires two guys who are comfortable with each other such that one of them can release when he feels the other guy has the defender under control. That takes endless repetitions because it is all done by feel.

Hope that makes sense to you.

Yep. And on pass blocking they have to know who has what player, and to pass on defensive players on stunts, and that takes practice and communication.

You could see that with Mailata and Seumalo, it took a few games for them to get that down.

"Are we giving Wentz all the leverage"

Wentz has had all the leverage all along.  I feel sorry for anyone who thought otherwise.

I don't think "leverage" is the right term, rather, in a rebuild, why would you give up on him and his proven upside?

The worst that happens is it doesn't work in 2021, and you go to plan B in 2022 and plan C in 2023.

Which will have little impact on the rebuild, build a top team and eventually you'll find a QB who can run it.

Damn. Did not know the combine was canceled. Garbage

Maybe they couldn't find a Ken Doll in Mobile, AL to use as scale to measure D. Smith? I mean these times, they are unprecedented.

Declined to get measured until his pro day.  Is it possible he’s less than 175?

For all the talk about Najee Harris being this big, bruising back he's "only" 6-1 230.  Not taking anything away from him, I think he's a stud and he somehow plays bigger than that size.  I think it shows just how much of a physical freak Derrick Henry is.

While I would have preferred a 4 year deal, at least its not a 7 year deal which was rumored. Glad to have him back.

I'm of the thought that a great safety has more impact these days than a great CB. You can avoid a great CB but a guy like Dawkins can impact both your run game and your pass game.

Which is why I'm really hoping the Eagles target either Moehrig or Cisco.

Or both!

Cisco played alot of SS. Not sold on Wallace. Maybe move him to slot CB or third S.

Both are playmakers with a penchant for creating turnovers.

What don't you like ??  Big, physical, high points the ball, good route runner, big strong hands and plenty of speed.

Harris strikes me as a Marshawn Lynch.  He's not the kind of bruiser Henry is or a LaGarrette Blount type back.  He's powerful and hits the line hard.  He's difficult to wrap up because he keeps his legs moving through contact and has great contact balance.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens to some of the recent draft picks with a whole new coaching staff — players like Davion Taylor, K’Von Wallace and JJAW for instance.  I feel like Wallace should get a chance to start.  Taylor is likely a ST stalwart at best, and JJAW gets cut in training camp.

Stoutland being retained means Dillard, Driscoll, and Mailata will continue to develop. I feel like Maddox needs to be the nickel CB or replaced.  WR feels like an empty cupboard, and a position that has to be a Day 1 or 2 draft pick.

If JJAW is still on the team then you know it was a Howie pick and he still has control

Good route runner I’ll go along with; he gets open.  I don’t see much of anything after the catch, though

Really.  You are not watching the same film as me.

What if Pitts runs a 4.5 at 6'6" 240? He not locked into this TE role but can play in WR sets.

The guy is a unique pass catching weapon. Gotta get past his position.

He's unique for sure.  He catches the ball so well too.  It's a shame the Eagles have so many needs because I think he'll be sitting there at pick 6 in the 2nd round.  I don't think he sneaks into round 1.

Check out Javonte Willliams. I think I like him better.

Just got to make sure he's utilised and he's the main target.

People are so locked into his Position. Oh no Eagles CANT draft a TE at 6!!!

What does it matter if you get 70-80 catches 1000-1200 yards and 6-10 TDs from a WR or TE?  Production is production period.
