It makes sense as he has probably worked with the OC before. 

I know the Jaguars obviously were not good this year as a whole, but Jay Gruden would be an interesting OC candidate given his past success as the Bengals OC before struggling as a HC with the Redskins (now FT).

I wouldn't necessarily put too much weight on this season, and he would fall into that category of experienced playcallers that could make sense at OC for us.

They should have just hired Jim Caldwell.  He is exactly what this team needs - a seasoned coach with OC experience and former QB coach.  He'd be a huge help in getting Wentz back on track (I have zero faith Doug will be able to).

Well in all fairness he was only the offensive coordinator for Lock for 5 games as a rookie and he was actually really good for a rookie in those 5 games.

They are really consultants. I think the term matters because changing a coach is more of a commitment to change vs. just letting a consultant go.  How the heck is Press Taylor still here? Schwartz's contract is up, so technically they didn't can him. So, no coaches are gone as of yet.

I love how this team is so dysfunctional that it’s newsworthy that they are going to hire an official OC...something that would be an assumption for any other team in the nfl.

We should also just confirm that they are going to field a 5 man OL and a QB next year.

Seriously.  Maybe they have different ideas and won’t.

Maybe still they’re catering to Carson. Perhaps they don’t want him gone after all? Can’t say any of the quarterbacks looked good under his tutelage. All of them struggled this season.
