Lots of people think it was him saying "it's a state problem, not a federal one" that pushed us over the top. Others believe it was when he tried to ram through an unconstitutional mandate on businesses that got slapped down by the supreme court. Others still think his best moment was buying billions of test kits thereby creating a retail shortage of them at the peak of omicron and then delivering "free kits" to everyone in the country about a month after the peak had subsided. IDK, so many greatest hits to choose from, the man is the presidential equivalent of the Beatles.

And it’ll only take 3 years to build it. Biden admin touts $137M deal for COVID test strip factory the company says it will take 3 years to build Once the factory is running in 2024 or 2025, another 85 million more tests can be produced each month
March 9, 20223 yr Right because God forbid we try to prepare for future waves and variants or even for future pandemics in general. Better to be completely reactive, being a day late and a dollar short served us really well the past couple years.

Good point, who knows what this administration has cooking up in Ukrainian biolabs right now.

Posting this, not with the thought that it would convince you, since understanding this requires a level of intellect you've never possessed and never will, but this narrative that we created SARS-CoV-2 is as false, tired, and cliched as Stop the Steal has become. https://www.science.org/content/blog-post/origins-pandemic

Likely to continue because as of right now there are no candidates anyone wants to see as president in 2024. March 11, 20223 yr Here we go again... ...trigger warning!!!! Quote Mandatory use of face covering masks (FCM) had been established for children aged six and above in Catalonia (Spain), as one of the non-pharmaceutical interventions aimed at mitigating SARS-CoV-2 transmission within schools. Quote In conclusion, FCM mandates in schools were not associated to a lower SARS-CoV-2 incidence, SAR or R*. Conversely, we found lower incidence and transmission in younger children (without FCM mandates in school), suggesting that age is the most important component to explain transmission in children. Quote FCM mandates in schools were not associated with lower SARS-CoV-2 incidence or transmission, suggesting that this intervention was not effective. https://deliverypdf.ssrn.com/delivery.php?ID=932001119069121121021122016089126113046076048031004017071002069123027024102103003030124002121124043057052123125018098110002093106061094046072000086103124086070119095042050095007112107026007106125089007086107095126001080018102112082090111028005074105065&EXT=pdf&INDEX=TRUE Note: This study is a preprint so take it for what it is worth.

Hard to draw conclusions from 2 different student patient populations. The no mandatory face mask group is younger and in preschool compared to the mandatory group (3-5 preschoolers vs 6-11 primary school kids). We already knew little kids tend to transmit it less so that's a pretty poor study design and overreaching conclusion.

As I've said about 99 times in here, I'm totally supportive of them for some scenarios and situations and I'm against them in others. Also, yes, I've worn them on many many many occasions during the pandemic and did so voluntarily as we had no actual mandates except for in places like hospitals and some few stores that chose to require them. In the "kids under 12 in school" category I'm in the "against" camp.
