Just trying to find a bright side as we destroy ourselves from within 🙂

I'd call it one step closer to evolution if you get my drift.

Yay Merica! Couldn't have a year without Sturgis, couldn't ya?

that's an insanely sensationalist headline.

Yeah but that's where pop density comes into play.  Sweden has the pop density of Minnesota or Mississsipi (25/sqkm).  No matter what Sweden proves with their lockdown management it will never be a true case study of what the US with its high pop mega urban sprawls had to do.

The US is a really difficult country to compare to European countries. There’s really no comp. we have too many large cities and at the same time to much suburban and rural area. Better comps might be regional.

That’s a bit misleading. There are very few people living in half of Sweden. The country is quite large actually and the northern half is very lightly populated.  Only Alaska and Texas are bigger. Take away that chunk and Sweden would be top 25 vs US states in terms of density. It is pretty representative vs mid size states in terms of population size/density and spread of COVID. Of course every country or region is a quite unique cocktail so comparing them is not straight forward.

We also suck at following directions and respecting authority

Do you have any idea of the death toll required for herd immunity?

Relax, I'm joking.

Sturgis, anti-mask protests, and Trump rallies are superspreading events. BLM riots actually cure the disease. But also, the disease disproportionately affects minority communities.

Covid-19 sure is wild!

You spelled "peaceful protests" wrong.  Everyone knows the rioting has been contained to 2 blocks in Portland this whole time.

Wtf is California University of Pennsylvania? That's worse than the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

There is actually a town in western PA called California.  There's also one called Indiana, and yeah you guessed it, there's a college there called Indiana U of PA.  I guess is was what they did back then when they were established by naming them after the town.

California University of Pennsylvania is about 90 minutes drive from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

They should have gone with something more original like Slippery Rock or Lock Haven.

Just thought id drop in with an update.  All cold/flu type symptoms have been gone for about 2 weeks now. However, something definitely changed with my GI system. I have not had a normal bowel movement since this all started. I have had diarrhea pretty much every single day, no matter what I eat, drink, etc..  I talked to my Dr. about it and he said that quite a few of his patients that had/have covid also have this going on.  He has 2 patients that got Covid early, back in April, that are STILL having this going on.  He told me that he did a CT scan recently on one of his early patients and told me that they had inflammation in their small intestine that was not present before covid.  He told me to stick it out for another 4-6 weeks and if no improvement, he will CT me and see whats going on.  Mind you, its not severe like when you have a stomach bug, its just.... not normal.  Other than that, im pretty good. Even my lung stamina has improved. No more getting easily winded and no more profuse sweating from mild activity, so thats nice.

I had a feeling this topic would be coming up sooner rather than later...

It would be refreshing if various levels of government coordinated with parents, communities, and neighborhoods to come up with a potential plan instead of a blanket "it's all cancelled!!!!" policy. And this is coming from someone that doesn't particularly care for Halloween.

Halloween seems like one of the easier work around things to do. Wear a mask (duh), stand 6 feet after ringing/knocking, yeet a candy from the door/window.

The parties are a different issue.

That sucks What the F but glad it's not too bad.  Wish I knew what to tell you on how to get the corona sucker out of your intestines!  You're not on any type of meds are you?  Our bodies are amazing and maybe it's still working to correct itself from this.  We shall cheer that first solid!!!!
