I certainly don't need reminded - I was accosted by several smooth brains in here for daring to question Commissar Wolf's tactics

The study was conducted by researchers affiliated with Stanford University, and was co-authored by Jay Bhattacharya, a professor of medicine and economics who has been a vocal opponent of coronavirus lockdowns since March.

For additional context, other studies have oppositely determined that lockdown orders have effectively saved millions of lives.

A study published in the journal Nature by researchers at Imperial College London in June found that some 3.1 million deaths had been averted due to lockdowns across Europe early on in the pandemic.

12/31/20 Publix gives DeSantis' another $50k

1/5/21 Publix & Florida partnered to distribute vaccines. 12 out of 67 counties that voted overwhelmingly for DeSantis & Trump get Publix vaccines.

How not surprising.

So a store will get 100-125 doses a day in 12 of the 67 counties.  That’s a lot of counties not getting it, including many counties that voted for Trump.

Umm, yes, the point of the post is that the media is now advertising these studies that would have been considered heresy just a few weeks ago.

Which studies?  Your article didn't mention any other studies besides this one and studies that showed the opposite.  And this study was published on January 5.

Looking at the PA statewide graph of daily cases, I see clear dropoffs in cases corresponding to the periods of major shutdowns. I don't know what your definition of "work" is, but they certainly provide mitigation. You don't even need a graph to show it; it's common sense.

Republicans: the virus is fake, it doesn’t exist, it’s a democratic sham

also republicans: that vaccine belongs to me.

F your party and your criminal president Kkz.  You can’t really defend this so don’t even try

So, sad news about a guy I worked with years ago when I was in college and he was in high school. We coincidentally attended the same school but I think he was a freshman the year I graduated, so I didn't really know him in school. Anyway, while I didn't know him too well personally and hadn't seen him in over a decade, he was a fun, friendly guy and I definitely interacted with him a lot at work. We were friends on FB still after all this time, too. He actually ended up marrying the sister of one of my girlfriend's close friends from the time period, too, so he didn't feel like a very remote figure in any case. Anyway, I just heard the news today that he's dead from COVID at age 30.

Thanks. It was hard to do, but I'm glad I did it. I was feeling a lot better too...until COVID...lol. Ah to hell with it. I won't let that do me in either. I have too much yet to do.

I'm about a month and a 1/2 into quitting smoking after 20 years myself. Still have moments and days where I want to smoke but, Ive held off so far

Sorry to hear man, that’s brutal, 30 is way too young.

Thanks. I'm ok, but it's definitely saddening. He was always a bit overweight and seemed to have packed on a bit more over the years, so he likely fell into the pre-existing condition category, but it's shocking nonetheless.

I think you may be reading the story incorrectly.  The vaccine is also available in blue areas of the state, such as at hospitals.  Per the article, these are going to Publix locations that their areas have weaker hospitals.

Good for you brother. Stick with it. It's worth it in the long run. Two things from my experience so far. First, the cravings come less frequently over time and they actually do get less strong, although that took over a year for me. Second, when I put down the lighter, I picked up a fork. I still have 15 lbs. of fat I don't need, but it's better than smoking.

Funny, I was about to say that when I quit successfully, exercising regularly helped me do it. Needed my lungs for something else.

I think you can’t read.

the headline literally:  As of now, Publix is only offering vaccine in Florida counties won by Republicans

Thank you. It's weird, I'll go almost a whole day and kind of forget I ever smoked. Then randomly on another day I'll go looking for a pack of cigarettes and be like sheet they don't exist lol.

Neither of you can read it says they are taking over your mind in all counties!

That's a very good way to do it. For my part, my exercise regimen isn't what it used to be thanks to a couple or worn out discs in my lower back, and the COVID recovery is still ongoing, so at this point, I'm happy it's only 15 lbs. lol.

The data isn’t lying.  More Republican counties across the country have the vaccine than democratic counties.  That’s not a coincidence.  Trump knows they didn’t have enough vaccines and wanted to set the table so he can say that Biden failed us.  Biden, playing 12th dimension chess knows this and calls for all the vaccines to be released, which he did today and the response from the fed gov was "we don’t have any 2nd dose allocations.”

Don’t act like the vaccine distribution that is being run by trumps admin wasn’t a political move.  You’re smarter than that.

I hope my mom who had a liver transplant and is a nurse can get her vaccine before the NBA.

Why you yelling at me bro? I wasn't in this argument I was just making a joke lol
