No, it's definitely not as pathetic as troops needing to flock to the capital because a radical Republican terrorist movement attacked the United States.

Sounds like Klobuchar messed up and Senators like Duckworth fixed it though, which is great.

I know you like to make excuses for democrats, but subjecting thousands and thousands of young men and women who serve in our military to conditions like that is indefensible. Herding them together ensuring many of them will catch and spread a deadly disease, just inexcusable and ridiculous. It's not surprising that hundreds have already caught it.

And lol at "fixed it." hundreds caught the virus. That's not fixable.

Literally announced today during our daily press conference in the UK.

Might be a misinterpretation of data or just an extremely cautious one. Even so, the ability to spin up a new re-tooled vaccine is a luxury afforded to us by the advent of mRNA vaccines. I wouldn't worry too much about it until we see more data showing these strains in question are actually infecting people that have been fully vaccinated more than 2 weeks ago.

I know what you mean but at this point I just think this is here to stay. And we knew that it was going to be a new flu type thing that was with us forever but I think significant restrictions are with us to stay for good.

I actually am impressed at how brazen they are about it. They're just like, yeah, we'll slowly allow normalcy to return now that Biden has been sworn in even though numbers are at an all-time high. Just ruthless and cutthroat.

How brazen they are about PUSHING BACK THE DATE for opening up indoor dining?   Is that what you're trying to say?

As always, a very useful summary from the Doc.  Thank you (and him) for providing this info regularly.

You're welcome, glad you find it informative!

Dude, they were already huddled together in the halls of the capital.  Have you not seen the pictures floating around for the past couple weeks of the troops in close proximity?  Anyone who's tested positive got in while in those halls, not in the parking garage, where they were for 1 day.  It sucks that they have to be there for sure, but it sucks even more that we have so many adherants to a radical Republican terrorist ideology that the troops had to protect the capital in the first place.

It wont be eradicated for several years, but that doesnt mean we'll have to live with lockdown restrictions beyond the next 6 months. At most, maybe you'll see some indoor capacity restrictions, or mask mandates next winter if the vaccine rollout is slower than expected and case numbers start creeping back up.

Indoor capacity restrictions. So no indoor music gigs, no festivals, no bars, no clubs. No mass gatherings.

Yes, scheduling the grand reopening of the economy around Biden's inauguration is disgusting and evil.

And many, many more will catch it from huddling together in a parking garage. The carelessness with the lives of our men and women in uniform which the democrat elite have shown in the last week is absolutely sickening. These scumbags didn't give our National Guard a second thought when setting all this up. They should be held responsible for every positive case. Blood is on their hands.

Sorry not sorry, for thinking the troops deserve better than being huddled together in masses during a global pandemic so bunker biden isn't scared to be inaugurated.

Yep.  Worst Kz confirmed.

his avatar is literally a troll..  reading his posts as anything other than really bad comedy relief is on the reader, imo.

Agreed, that was a pathetic call as well. But it's even more pathetic that the planning was so outrageously bad that they were forced to pile on top of each other in parking garages. Just disgusting leadership from the top. To subject our troops to that while a global pandemic is raging is ridiculous. Utter disregard for the lives of our troops by DC elite. But what else is new, am I right?

Just stop.  Have you no sense of reason?  huh?  They were called up to be there because X President and his croonies are mental maniacs living lies and in some alternate state of reality.

There were many "elites" that went out and thanked them for protecting them.  They are soldiers you know, they are trained for conditions.

He should slap a monocle and top hat on there so everyone knows that he's a serious poster now who cares about the issues.

Yeah as has already been pointed out to you: they put those restrictions into place on November 18 (that’s after Biden won the election in case you were wondering).  And they are now pushing the date back another 2 weeks (that means longer restrictions in case you were wondering).

so they’re actually doing the exact opposite of what you claim.   Try not being a complete troll for once in your life.

Sorry, but I'm not going to stop advocating for our men and women in uniform. The sheer number deployed to DC was complete and utter idiocy to anyone with a brain. The only violent riots on inauguration day were done by leftists in the pacific northwest.

I just can't believe anyone could possibly defend their decision to pile soldiers on top of each other during a pandemic. Absolutely no regard for the lives of those soldiers. None.

Oh, so they put those restrictions in place while Trump was still in office and then removed them just days after he left office? Kind of exactly like I said. Well this changes everything!

Sorry, I will not stop either.  THEY SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN THERE!!!  Period.  The problem is your refusal to see WHY they were called in.  Anyone with a brain would have accepted the results of an election well before Jan the 6th!!!!!!    Is any of this getting through yet

Agreed. Sending 30,000 troops to DC because a couple hundred people pushed their way into a building a few weeks prior was utter lunacy. We're on the same page.

Regardless, our political elite did find it necessary to bring tens of thousands in. At that point, our political elite have an obligation to not subject them to deplorable conditions and leave them vulnerable to catching a deadly virus. We need to expect better from our supposed "leaders." That's all I'm saying.

Fair enough.  This was at least a legible post kz.   Perhaps 30K was overkill but a message had to be sent.  Of course they should of been better taken care of, especially while being deployed on US soil.   It's been rectified, however, as I understand it, and I think we'll see most of them start to be sent back home soon.

Yes, but the damage was already done. Tough to put the toothpaste back in the tube after thousands have been exposed through the utter carelessness of the people in charge. Hopefully cases won't grow past the hundreds already reported into the thousands.

Edit: Nearly 200 cases already and climbing:
