Latest numbers I found were 93 million total doses administered, 62 million have received one dose and 32 million are fully vaccinated (10% of U.S. population). Amazing!

So 28% have already had at least one shot?  I wonder what the total % is that had a shot and\or caught COVID to get an idea how close we are to herd immunity.

Fauci is saying we could reach herd immunity by late summer/early fall. We're up to 2.1 million vaccinations a day and rising!

62M have had at least one dose. Just shy of 20% of the population. 

As for overlap with those that had natural immunity, it'll be very difficult to estimate, but it's probably considerable. In other words, if we have 25% that have already caught covid, a majority of them (~15%) are probably gonna get vaccinated, so what we want need to know is how many that won't get vaccinated but already have or will get natural immunity. Tough to guess at but I still think we're still looking at a fall/winter timeframe for hitting herd immunity.

My neighbor told me he got his 2nd shot, but it has an expiration date in the Fall????  Maybe he was just confused about what they wrote on his card.  Lol

Can’t we simply say that the 30m that have tested positive plus the 62m that have had one dose (and will likely get the second) means that 92m people have some level of immunity to date?  That’s roughly 27% of the US population.  We need 75-80% to reach herd immunity right?  We’re a long way off then!

The thing is, of those 30m that tested positive, a lot of them got vaccinated. It's probably not 50% but it's certainly not 0%. Determining the overlap is going to be tricky. Keep in mind that the 30m are just confirmed cases, there are more that are unconfirmed, but we don't know how many. If I had to guess I'd say somewhere in the range of 20%-30% of the population have natural immunity.

Something there doesn't make sense .. if 32 are fully vaccinated that makes 64 million doses there - assuming they're pretty much entirely made up of Moderna and Pfizer. 

Do they consider getting both shots one dose?

I used a combination to get these numbers. 62 million was reported on NBC last night. CDC gave the 93 million figure, and full vaccination can be found here:

32 million fully vaccinated I took to mean either 2 shots or 1 depending on vaccine. The "Total doses" figure would include people who have received one or both shots.

I think the 62 million is phrased as "at least" one dose.

Actually, I see that he added the qualifier of one in four adults. I guess that might skew things somewhat. Better to just refer to it as a percentage of the overall population though.

Got my first dose around an hour ago. Hurt a little when the microchip implants into the deltoid, so definitely something to be aware of.

My mom got her second shot on Tuesday. Got chills and was sore yesterday, but it wasn't near as bad as some other reactions I've seen. Tylenol, heating pad and a long nap wiped it out. My dad's chemo and radiation has been done for awhile, so he's getting his first shot tomorrow.

I was going to go to a vaccination site at one of the local high schools, but they royally fugged that up. Everyone outside of the county found out about it before us (Luzerne County), so there were no spots left this past week.
