Agreed. I keep looking for reports of cases of vaccinated individuals getting infected with variants and I keep coming up empty. If these variants were able to escape vaccine immunity, I'd imagine we'd have seen some evidence of it by now, but so far, we got nothing and yet most headlines and articles neglect to mention this at all.
March 15, 20214 yr Got an appointment for vaccine on Tuesday morning. Can’t wait. My pregnant wife received her second dose of moderna last week. Felt fatigued the next day but not too bad. Absolutely cannot wait to be fully vaccinated and to go back to drinking water out of puddles and eating at buffets every night.
March 15, 20214 yr Yeah, I'm just an F'ing idiot, and then you post my position... Can't make this crap up. 4/5 patients in the hospital for COVID are overweight or obese. Lose weight, beat COVID.

End the stupidity. Masks outside?? Social distancing after vaccine?? Close parks?? Kids in the same room with ventilation considerations of a school built in 1950... for eight hours.... in the same room.... with masks on.... even though they're... you guessed it... in the same room... for eight hours.... with poor ventilation.......... The CNN front page that I shared. They're STILL perpetuating fear! From one fatty to a bunch of others... quit beating around the bush. The number one co-morbidity is age. The second is weight. I can't even go to the gym still because our county tests are still too high, even though they're pushing drive thru PCR tests without clinical symptoms. And these labs are all over the place with their Ct. And I agree. If you smoke in 2021, you're dumb. I wear a mask when I go into a store. I don't wear my mask in an office by myself. Yet the news has these morons driving around with the windows down and a mask on. With their phone in their hand... End stupidity.

So your argument is that everything should go back to normal and we just let all the overweight people possibly die? It seems like you’re just mad at everything. Maybe you should chill and have a cigarette.

If smoking is optional, why aren't masks? "Sign the waiver that you'll refuse medical care if you catch it!!" You gonna start that for smokers or those lined up at McDonalds too?? They made a choice. They should live with it. And, no, I don't think that fat people should die. I think you should take your own precautions, not force others to do so. If you're high risk, wear two masks or stay at home. If a PRIVATELY OWNED BAR wants to have people there til 2am and PRIVATE CITIZENS wish to patronize it, then why is it my business to report them to the f'ing government for socializing?? And, no... I have two young children, a full time job and back in school. I haven't been to a bar in five or more years. We want to say screw the small businesses, yet Amazon turned in their highest YEARLY net profit ever... during ONE QUARTER of 2020. Its BS.

March 15, 20214 yr EU is screwed. AZ factory in Belgium can’t secure supply chain of crucial parts of their vaccine BOM primarily due to issues related to item manuf in US and to a much lesser degree in China. The backup plan for AZ is to ship the actual vaccine from outside EU. That is blocked by US, UK, and India export. US has 30M doses and AZ not approved in US.

If so then I am sure they will unblock. No. The supplies in the US and the UK aren't affected by the screw up in Belgium. Here is another way to look at it. AZ is failing to deliver vaccine promised to the EU. The AZ failure is due to issues the AZ plant in Belgium is having securing all necessary ingredients needed to produce the vaccine. The AZ backup plan of shifting delivery to the EU from production outside the EU is blocked by export regulation in the US, UK, and India. I haven't seen any details regarding why this is the case in the UK or India. The US position (Biden and Psaki answered this question yesterday) is that the US will hold the approx 30M doses currently in stock even though the AZ vaccine is not approved in the US. This is seen as a "backup" and won't be released until the US has hit herd immunity. I have no complaints with the US position though it will delay my vaccine by several months. AZ, the EU, and the Swedish govt are to blame for not ensuring they had an adequate backup plan the way i see it. I'm actually not that concerned with it though it isn't optimal.

I agree that obesity is a serious problem and a large reason COVID hit the US so hard. However, you're not being reasonable or logical. Hospitals would be overwhelmed if we didn't take these measures and other people would die outside of COVID patients.

March 15, 20214 yr I got my first jab yesterday. Put myself on cvs waiting list for missed appointments and extra doses. It was our cvs store’s first day and I got a call at 4pm. They said can you get here in 30 mins because there is one dose extra today. I said hell yes and now I’m one dose down. No doses left behind!
March 15, 20214 yr Meanwhile, over a hundred spring break dewshberries arrested in Miami, Duke is back to lockdown over frat parties. And people here are still, "Why do I have to wear a mask?"

Hospitals would be overwhelmed if we didn't take these measures and other people would die outside of COVID patients. What hospitals? All hospitals? Or just the COVID-designated hospitals? I have two personal friends that were laid off because our government mandated elective surgeries be postponed. Yet, of the 7 hospitals in the area, only ONE was designated for COVID. Meanwhile, the Director of Emergency Medicine at one of the other hospitals on record stating "we're not seeing the surge the State Health Department warned about and we have unused resources and skilled labor that can handle it (paraphrased)." So when the state is only reporting "bed count" as a percentage of the 15% of actual space... If I kept 85% of a pie from you fatties and told you that you have to split that 100 ways, you'd be a little pissed that there was 6 times as much pie that I never told you about or shared, ya? So once over 50 is vaccinated, which is almost 100% of the hospitalizations in Ohio, can our state FINALLY disregard arbitrary rules that only the top secret models control vs the actual data?? Ohio never saw the overwhelming numbers after Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years that our governor went on TV every Tuesday to issue grave warnings... about things that never happened.

March 15, 20214 yr An NPR/PBS/Marist poll released Thursday shows a potentially big problem in getting the country back to normal, with large members of these groups saying they will refuse any vaccine (ranked from highest to lowest percentage). Republican men: 49%. Trump supporters: 47%. Republicans: 41%. White men without a college degree: 40%. White evangelicals: 38%. People under 45: 37%. Latinos: 37%. Rural Americans: 36%. Generation Z and Millennials: 36%. Independent men: 36%. SURPRISING FACT The amount of Biden supporters who said they won't get vaccinated was only 10%, among the lowest listings in the poll. BIG NUMBER Nearly 35 million. That's how many Trump voters wouldn't get the vaccine if the polling turns out to be correct, representing almost 17% of the adult population.
March 15, 20214 yr Quote Nearly half of U.S. men who identify as Republicans said they have no plans to get the coronavirus vaccine, according to a new PBS NewsHour/NPR/Marist poll released Thursday. The study, which surveyed 1,227 U.S. adults from March 3 to March 8, found that approximately 30 percent of Americans overall said they do not plan on getting vaccinated. The poll found a higher amount of opposition among Republicans, with 41 percent saying they would not get one of the three federally approved coronavirus vaccines and 49 percent of Republican men saying the same. Fifty percent of GOP men said they would get the vaccine or had already got it. One percent was unsure. Comparatively, about 87 percent of Democrats included in the survey said they planned on getting the COVID-19 vaccine or had already received it. Among Republicans overall, 56 percent said they would get the vaccine or already had got the vaccine.

I appreciate what you're trying to do, but you have to understand that the CoronaBros in here have lapped up everything Fauci and CNN have told them since the beginning - nothing is going to change their mind now. And despite the fact that everyone in CVON suddenly became an expert in physical fitness over the weeked (LOL), most of them of terrified because they're in the target group of those most affected (old or fat). Toaster is both old AND fat. You might have better luck convincing EagleVA that the Earth is round.

I live on a college campus and here’s my take - it’s easier to just make them mandatory when you’re outside your dorm room or apartment then stipulate only in crowded spaces. Yeah, maybe it’s overkill - but that’s the cost of staying on campus (instead of going remote).
