Agreed. I keep looking for reports of cases of vaccinated individuals getting infected with variants and I keep coming up empty. If these variants were able to escape vaccine immunity, I'd imagine we'd have seen some evidence of it by now, but so far, we got nothing and yet most headlines and articles neglect to mention this at all.

Got an appointment for vaccine on Tuesday morning. Can’t wait. My pregnant wife received her second dose of moderna last week. Felt fatigued the next day but not too bad.
 

Absolutely cannot wait to be fully vaccinated and to go back to drinking water out of puddles and eating at buffets every night.

EU is screwed. AZ factory in Belgium can’t secure supply chain of crucial parts of their vaccine BOM primarily due to issues related to item manuf in US and to a much lesser degree in China. The backup plan for AZ is to ship the actual vaccine from outside EU. That is blocked by US, UK, and India export. US has 30M doses and AZ not approved in US.

When you say EU is screwed and AZ factory in Belgium can't secure supply chain of crucial parts is that going to affect supplies to the UK and US? If so then I am sure they will unblock.

No.  The supplies in the US and the UK aren't affected by the screw up in Belgium.

Here is another way to look at it.  AZ is failing to deliver vaccine promised to the EU.  The AZ failure is due to issues the AZ plant in Belgium is having securing all necessary ingredients needed to produce the vaccine.  The AZ backup plan of shifting delivery to the EU from production outside the EU is blocked by export regulation in the US, UK, and India.

I haven't seen any details regarding why this is the case in the UK or India.  The US position (Biden and Psaki answered this question yesterday) is that the US will hold the approx 30M doses currently in stock even though the AZ vaccine is not approved in the US.  This is seen as a "backup" and won't be released until the US has hit herd immunity.

I have no complaints with the US position though it will delay my vaccine by several months.  AZ, the EU, and the Swedish govt are to blame for not ensuring they had an adequate backup plan the way i see it.  I'm actually not that concerned with it though it isn't optimal.

I agree that obesity is a serious problem and a large reason COVID hit the US so hard. However, you're not being reasonable or logical. Hospitals would be overwhelmed if we didn't take these measures and other people would die outside of COVID patients.

He’s upset because he was corrected on his false claims that mRNA vaccines aren’t vaccines.

I got my first jab yesterday. Put myself on cvs waiting list for missed appointments and extra doses. It was our cvs store’s first day and I got a call at 4pm. They said can you get here in 30 mins because there is one dose extra today. I said hell yes and now I’m one dose down.  
No doses left behind!  

Meanwhile, over a hundred spring break dewshberries arrested in Miami, Duke is back to lockdown over frat parties.

And people here are still, "Why do I have to wear a mask?"

I have two personal friends that were laid off because our government mandated elective surgeries be postponed. Yet, of the 7 hospitals in the area, only ONE was designated for COVID.

Meanwhile, the Director of Emergency Medicine at one of the other hospitals on record stating "we're not seeing the surge the State Health Department warned about and we have unused resources and skilled labor that can handle it (paraphrased)."

So when the state is only reporting "bed count" as a percentage of the 15% of actual space...

I appreciate what you're trying to do, but you have to understand that the CoronaBros in here have lapped up everything Fauci and CNN have told them since the beginning - nothing is going to change their mind now.  And despite the fact that everyone in CVON suddenly became an expert in physical fitness over the weeked (LOL), most of them of terrified because they're in the target group of those most affected (old or fat).  Toaster is both old AND fat.  You might have better luck convincing EagleVA that the Earth is round.

I live on a college campus and here’s my take - it’s easier to just make them mandatory when you’re outside your dorm room or apartment then stipulate only in crowded spaces.  Yeah, maybe it’s overkill - but that’s the cost of staying on campus (instead of going remote).
