The reasons for these outbreaks were religious exemptions in New York and personal belief exemptions in California. The legislators of California and New York revoked nonmedical exemptions as a result so that they could ensure higher rates of people immunized against measles. And, guess what? The rate of measles immunizations did go up when those exemptions were removed.

How about a private chartered yacht?  They made a reality TV show about one boat.  I'm semi addicted to it.

I've done that a few times. My wife really likes boats, but I don't. So I've chartered a yacht and had dinner cruises for the 2 of us a few times. Best experience was down in Cabo -- unreal sunset cruise, saw some whales and had dinner.

But zero interest on being on a boat for days.

1. Is the food actually high quality? Isn't it just mass produced dreck?

2. That's what I will never get -- if I want to go to the Caribbean, I'll just fly there and stay at the Four Seasons. Why do I need to spend 7 days getting there on a floating city with people I don't want anything to do with?

1.  Dinners are solid.  I guess it depends on what cruise line you're on.  Most of the time you're eating a quick breakfast and getting off the ship.  Nothing spectacular.

2.  I agree.  Secrets that we have stayed at have some fantastic options for dinners all different restaurants (French, Italian, Hibachi, Seafood, Steak).  Far and away above cruise ship food.  Also have sit down options for breakfast and lunch which are all good.  Then the rooms have big jacuzzi tubs, big showers, 24/7 room service included, ocean view balcony with a jacuzzi if you want to spend a little more.  And multiple pools, some quiet, some party, ocean view, etc...  Server bringing you drinks (tip them $5 and they'll be your best friend since tips are included in the package price).  I like to be pampered when I go on a vacation.

1. I'm a foody and I think so. Its also not all mass produced. While general dining is included they have fine dining restaurants that are small and you pay extra for. I had some Spanish prawns one time and a chateaubriand another time that were among my all time favorite meals.

2. Agreed for the Caribbean. For Europe I still think cruising was nice. I didn't have to worry about finding the next hotel when I didn't speak the language, finding a good place to eat etc.

They  offer some cruises around the highlands of Scotland. I was thinking about that for my next one.

I wasn’t a big cruise guy until I went on two of them with my wife’s family, and they were a blast.  I think it depends on the cruise line and the destination.

We did an Alaskan cruise with Princess Cruise Line and it was phenomenal.  I want to go again.  Food was outstanding.  Entertainment was great.  And the sights were incredible.  Unlike Caribbean cruises where you’re out at sea for days with nothing around but ocean, for this you are along coast line, so you have ever changing awesome views.  Whales, otters, giant fish, and all sorts of stuff swimming along the boat.   And the excursions are awesome.  We took a helicopter to ride to a glacier (I think it was Mendenhall glacier) and got to walk along it, drink the glacier water (best damn water I’ve ever had lol).  It was really an awesome experience.  So much different than the typical carribean cruise.

All inclusives are great too. We did Mexico that way when we went to Cozumel. I tipped the bartender well on the first night and he always had a different aged scotch for me every night to try (the really good stuff not available to the general guests).

Princess was the line we went on for Europe. It was really good. We did Alaska with Disney and we were floored by how good the service was. While Disney of course is geared toward kids they have so much for adults to do in the evenings. I did a scotch tasting one night, and a cognac tasting another night. They had a really good piano bar that I hung out at after the kiddos were asleep.

And then F'ing lie about it.

Yeah. I guess I just do vacations differently. Even pre-COVID, the idea of being around that many other people...yeesh.

I start to get a little crazy on a boat when I can't see land so I have no desire to do it.  Let alone, the boarding and un boarding.  I don't even like flying and rarely do it sober.  Even at 6 am I'm guzzling something back to get me on the thing.  Once on, I'm Ok.  I did take a 2 1/2 hr. high speed ferry across Lake Michigan 2 years ago just to see if I could do the not seeing land thing.  That is one big arse lake.  So glad is was smooth that day as well.  People would tell me stories of going on some rough crossings.

Yep. Triggered, that's it.

I guess it triggered all you fat Fcs when I said to lose weight?

I considered getting a peloton but I'm a bit concerned it'll become an expensive towel rack. I've never been able to consistently work out indoors at home. I can do the bikes at the gym, but that's in the context of a broader workout and it's easier to get into the working out frame of mind there. So many distractions at home.

I understand you can get the peloton program independent of the bike. Might look into that, and if I'm able to get myself hooked I'll be less apprehensive about buying the full deal.

late to this, but you can pick up a magnetic heavy fly weight spin bike for a few hundred bucks on Amazon, get a tablet and the peloton app, and come out much cheaper than the actual peloton. You can get cadence sensors to put on the pedals, as well, so you know where you’re at in relation to where the instructor wants you to be.

Are you sure you are not just angry because you have high cholesterol?  They make meds for that too.  Were you prescribed anything?

My opinion: Trumpbots should be forced to vaccinate

Fact: 47% of Trumptards don't want the vaccine

Anytime you’re on the lakes make sure to listen to some Gordon Lightfoot. Always puts me at ease when I’m on a boat.

When I have had to stay at a hotel without a Peloton, I'll try and use the app to take the classes. You can get close by guessing on cadence and resistance.

Still prefer the bike itself though to get the measurements (output, TSS, etc.) so I can track performance.

Not only being crammed with a lot of people but you're on a schedule.  My life is a schedule.  Vacation is an escape from that.  All inclusive you move at your leisure.

Ignorant posters on the EMB lecture people on the idiocy of not taking an EMERGENCY-Use Authorization only drug.

If catching COVID doesn't constitute an emergency for most people under 50 or not obese, then why would I take a vaccine for it...?

And, yeah, personal responsibility. Working out, eating better.

Tell me, why are 90% of deaths in countries with obesity rates over 40%?
