What's the reason for that? We have had the same in the UK due to supply but it was expected in April.

Because some people spent a year saying covid is no big deal, so taking any action like getting vaccinated would essentially be admitting they were wrong. And then you've got other people that think vaccines aren't that effective so they just throw their hands up and say "Why bother?"

Fun times.

We have country full of Trump loving morons who think the earth is flat and big pharma wants to kill them

Ok. All vaccines have potential adverse side effects. Just an FYI.

Sure it does. Since insurance companies can't charge them more, they get added to the risk pool for determining premiums. So healthy people pay more because others choose to be unhealthy.

Insurance companies should be able to charge the obese more for premiums.

One of my previous employers tried this. At the meeting to announce it, someone asked the VP of Human resources "So exactly how much scotch and pepperoni pizza am I allowed to have"

Wolf has announced that all gathering limits will expire on 5/31, and the mask mandate will be dropped once PA is at 70% fully vaccinated. If ya'll wanna drop the masks, ya'll need to get vaxxed! Be a patriot! 🇺🇸

Because we have a segment of our population that are the actual dumbest people in the world.  They won't get a life-saving vaccine that would not only help save their lives, but help save the lives of those they love, because...checks notes....liberals want them to.

Might take a bit to get the stragglers,  but we'll get there. Once we get EUAs for the kids, we'll be well on our way.

Americans are stupid.

Don't put this on America.  These idiots are a minority.  They just got their azzez kicked in an election by the majority.

Sorry, but I painfully experience firsthand the immense stupidity of the American people and their children on a daily basis. It gets worse every year. I'm not so sure it's a minority; the average American is pretty stupid, and the depths of our stupidity is astounding. There's an old George Carlin bit that went something like, "Think about how stupid the average person is, now think about the fact that half of them are even dumber than that!"

Hopefully. For the sake of innuendo alone, I'd like that we stay at 69.9 :angel

Not sure about PA, but the 70% number here is for eligible citizens, meaning 70% of anyone 16 and older, not 70% of the total population. I suspect we'll be around 65% for most of the summer, with a possibility to clear 70% if more colleges start requiring it to stay on campus in the fall semester.

What is PA currently at for eligible population with at least one dose? We are at 48% here, but if you guys are further ahead, you might be in better shape.

Looks like you guys are at 50.6% of eligible population with first dose, which is a few weeks or so ahead of us. So maybe you guys clear that 70% threshold in late-June or early-July, whereas we are looking at a mid to late July timeframe here in MI potentially. Most of the heavy lifting will be getting that 16-25 age group through the door.

The announcement from the Gov's office just says "70% of PA Adults"

Even better, that might put you into mid to late June then.

Don't know % of population but vaccine is open to everyone over 16.  We're at 33% fully vaccinated.  I'd suspect by end of May and June that number will jump quite a bit.  A lot of people like me are just getting/got their 1st shot due to eligibility opening up.  At first I couldn't get scheduled until mid-May but I managed to bump up twice and got it last week.  Wife goes this week.

Not sure about PA, but the threshold here is for two weeks following the clearance of 70% of eligible population getting their first dose, not fully vaccinated. If it's different for PA where he's saying it's 70% for fully vaccinated, then you're back into mid to late July.

A lot of it is the younger age groups too. I think I saw a stat last week that said only 10% of 16 year olds have gotten their first dose. When you're that age, getting a vaccine probably isn't much of a priority.

Getting to 60% in many states may be impossible

They just allowed 16-year-olds to start getting the shot not that long ago.  My daughter is 16 and just got her 2nd dose a few days ago.
