I personally love the show and am currently a week into a binge (season 4 right now, the weakest of the main 5 (Haven't seen all of 6 yet that was on yahoo, but what i did see was meh)). The humor is quirky/meta and they do quite a few shows that break the normal shows flow, like a random stop motion animation episode. Also a lot of random stuff happens that you wont catch the first time around. For example there are two things in the background that they spend a lot of time setting up that I love: Abed having a C story almost off camera (10 month set up) Spoiler or them spending 3 seasons setting up a joke that spends a split second in the background: Spoiler

Some kids can tolerate them while others struggle a bit more so you can only do so much, especially if they're younger. My kids will be wearing them indoors in public until they're vaxxed.
