July 19, 20214 yr Look. You could be the biggest Republican or the most liberal Democrat and these two facts are still true: 1) The Delta variant is on the march through the United States -- targeting the unvaccinated primarily. 2) The vaccine lessens the symptoms if you do happen to get the Delta variant and drastically reduces your chances of dying from the virus. The idea that LESS THAN HALF of unvaccinated Americans say they are concerned about the virus seeks to ignore those two facts. And science. And epidemiology. Unvaccinated people are, whether they are worried about it or not, sitting ducks for the Delta variant. And when they get it, whether or not they were worried about it won't play any factor at all in whether and how they recover. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/the-upside-down-reality-many-unvaccinated-people-are-living-in/ar-AAMjRg4?li=BBnbfcL

You are, of course, welcome to be as large an a-hole as you like.

You are, of course, welcome to be as large an a-hole as you like. My initial post was asking you why. I thought you would just say you wanted to protect others. When you said it was to protect yourself even though you are fully vaccinated I expressed my opinion that I found that to be an excessive measure unless you had underlying conditions that put you at a specific level of higher risk. That's it, no more no less. I did make a passing comment about living in a bubble though. Sorry for that one mate. I didn't actually intend to insult you.

Your last post was more honest. This is one more attempt, by you, to explain what what I read, I didn't really read, and you are not trying to insult when you say insulting things. I am just too sensitive. I don't know what your mask problem is, but it is yours and you are welcome to it.

July 19, 20214 yr Cmon kmart @Kz!, we are dying for your thoughts on Tucker Carlson having to get a vaccine passport.
July 19, 20214 yr It's really silly to chide someone for wearing a mask in these circumstances. I'm mostly at the "you do you" point in terms of mask wearing right now, but I also believe that the smartest, most considerate, and most concientious thing you can do is to continue masking up indoors when with groups of people whose vaccination status is unknown. I always kinda chuckle inside when I hear people griping about masks or otherwise acting like taking off the masks has been such a great relief to them. Putting on a mask was really just never a big deal to me, and at the end or the day, it is such an extremely minor inconvenience to take against the potential for such extremely damaging effects from the virus, even if the risk of complications and death is low. Delta is a real concern, and it is merely just the latest variant in what will likely be a cascade of increasingly infective mutant strains as we head into the worst time of year for communicable diseases. We are nowhere near out of the woods yet, so I will continue to mask up for the forseeable future, until either enough people get vaccinated or enough COVIDiots die off to get us herd immunity. @Toastrel, I got your back, bro!

Let me be as clear as I can be here. In my opinion it makes all the sense in the world to continue to wear a mask in consideration of others. Exactly as I asserted from the start of today’s discussion between me and Toaster. What I find excessive is the feeling that one needs to wear one to protect oneself in the situation where one is already fully vaccinated and has no underlying conditions or special risks. I say so IMHO, and with all due respect to Toaster who is 100% in his right to continue wearing one for whatever reason he so chooses.
