August 11, 20214 yr This is the weekly update from the facility that I work for. We have had multiple people under 40 die or be on ventilators in the last week. Once they are on the vent they are basically not coming off. On the plus side, they are giving nurses that work in the ER and covid floors $100 an hour bonuses to show up. Traveler nurses are getting $200 an hour bonuses.

Hopefully there won’t be many actual deaths but there will definitely be cases like you described.

August 11, 20214 yr Yeah, death from covid is still quite rare for young kids, even as a percentage of those who are hospitalized. But let's be honest about this, if your kid ends up in a hospital bed because of your blatant ignorance or insane political ideology, then you really F'ed up as a parent, and need to reevaluate what went wrong in your life to bring you to this point. The minute you walk through those hospital doors with a sick kid from covid, you already lost.
