Also curious how the comparisons would be if J&J were a two-shot vaccine as well as mixing vaccines. Same. Issue is, Delta hasn't been circulating as predominant variant for that long. So we'll have to wait to get a better idea yet.

At this point I've made 6 months with no symptoms so I'm happy with my vaccine decision. However, I'd like the freedom to choose any vaccine I want for the "booster" but I don't think I'll be able to (technically).

The biggest problem with all these graphs, stats and charts is that we really have no way of verifying the accuracy of the data that is input. All debating and cutting up aside, how confident are you in the accuracy of this data?

I'd like to get a 50ug moderna boost, but that's not even an option right now for anyone. And at some point, I'd like to get a delta targeted boost in the spring if transmission levels are still high then. 1 minute ago, Procus said: The biggest problem with all these graphs, stats and charts is that we really have no way of verifying the accuracy of the data that is input. A recurring theme, I've noticed.

All debating and cutting up aside, how confident are you in the accuracy of this data? No, the biggest problem is that people twist them to try and introduce FUD when the data doesn't tell the story they want. When taken in its totality the story is not that complicated: Delta's significantly higher viral load partially neutralized the vaccine's effectiveness in preventing infection In aggregate the vaccines are still very effective and reducing significantly the number of severe and fatal cases. High-risk populations, even highly vaccinated high-risk populations, are still the most likely to develop severe and fatal cases, even as the vaccine is our best tool in boosting the immune system to fight off infection. Vaccines work. For some, boosters may be quite helpful in keeping the immune system trained. This isn't an across the board thing; we do not have the benefit of years of study of COVID to fully understand all the nuances. But what we know is that the vaccines, the mRNA vaccines especially, are the most effective tool we have. We also know that hospitals are filling up with COVID cases, not people with side effects of vaccines. We know that in the least vaccinated areas hospitals are filling past capacity, and it's impacting the ability of non-COVID patients to get access to the care they need - sometimes costing lives unrelated directly to COVID. We know that even in vaccinated areas, waves of Delta can cause hospital cases to spike. But thus far, when a Delta wave spread through a highly vaccinated population the hospitals are able to manage this wave. Take Israel, the anti-science right's favorite source to spin nonsense - the Delta wave resulted in more COVID cases than ever. But the deaths were half earlier peeks. Because the vaccines were working, even against a more contagious variant among a population whose vaccination timeline stretched back 8+ mos. And had we known that boosters are necessary for at least some high-risk populations who had been vaccinated back in January even more lives might have been saved.

Also, to state the obvious, many of these people have been infected by Covid already and already have natural immunity. Can you blame someone who may have recently recovered from Covid to not want to get a vaccine for something they've already had, especially when these folks have seen some of the underreported adverse side-effects first hand? But it just goes to show you who ishlibs are as human beings. They'll gladly watch and even take perverse pleasure in someone losing their livelihood especially if they perceive those people to be on the opposite side politically. It truly is cult-like behavior.

September 29, 20214 yr Sweden is now back to full normal. No restrictions as of today. Norway went a week back and Denmark a few weeks back. No masking in any of the three countries. Bars full on. Concerts the same. We shall see what transpires.

The answer to that question is: not that many are. Here's a fun headline: N.C. hospital system fires about 175 workers in one of the largest-ever mass terminations due to a vaccine mandate Sounds like a lot! except it's not. Novant has 15 hospitals, 800 clinics, and hundreds of outpatient care centers, and employs over 35,000 people. This means 99.5% of their employees are compliant. 65 workers were terminated from Maine's two largest healthcare providers! Which represents less than 0.2% of the employees for those systems. The headlines you'll hear is about the outliers. You guys are letting outliers lead you around by the nose because you prefer the narrative it affords you - that's it. The vast majority of healthcare workers are complying. That there are stories of individuals bucking the mandate are only notable because there are so few.
