1) If Embiid missed 13 free throws in a home playoff game we'd go nuts.

2) I remember when the Bucks signed Goran Dragic after he was waived and there were hosts on the radio, as well as callers, saying how the Sixers missed out and how this sealed the Bucks trip to the Finals.

If the Celtics win tomorrow or Saturday, I wonder how big the calls are going to be for the NBA to re-seed after the first round as in that scenario, the Celtics would have home court against the Heat while the Sixers would have home court against the Knicks (and if the Hawks won Games 6 & 7, the Sixers would have home court against the Heat while the Knicks would have home court against the Hawks in Round 2) as opposed to the Celtics having home court against the Sixers while the Knicks do have home court against the Heat in Round 2.

The Hawks let us down.  Bring on the Cs.  We CAN DO THIS! 💪

Never change Harden, never change

The fact that be 11 days since he last played a game and he’s still doubtful for game one feels like this injury is likely worse than what we know

Gamesmanship.

Seems like it. They could be bating the Celts but who knows. Celts now a -9 favorite game 1.

I’m getting more and more to the point he might not even play this series. Because if you’re not ready to play on Wednesday night game 2, I do not imagine you’re gonna be ready to play on Friday night for game 3. (Also if dumas is accurate on 4-6 weeks it means it’s a grade 2 and not a grade 1)

HE can also touch on this.

I never saw this coming, an Embid playoff injury followed promptly by a 2nd round exit, I'm absolutely shocked!

Yeah but he’ll likely win mvp this year so at least he’ll be happy

He can use the trophy as a foot rest for his busted leg....

Notice this time around...no panic, no surprise.  Just...oh well, we expected that.

So, when Harden walks, and we trade Harris to clear max cap space

Do we keep it going and completely the tear down by trading Embiid? Or do we give it one more go trying to build on a busted foundation?

his regular season minutes need to go way down next season...maybe he'll actually agree to that after he gets his mvp.

They are going to give it one more go with the same foundation again. The fact that they don’t have some of their future draft picks is probably the reason why I think they do that. Another they will milk whatever they can out of embiid’s career until they can’t anymore. They’ll keep embiid until he wants out or he just completely declined

my thoughts have always been if they get to the end of next year and they still couldn’t get out of the second round then Embiid is going to ask to be traded. However, it’s becoming more it’s not just Roster construction, but Embiid can’t stay as healthy in the playoffs. A good part of the Sixers failures in the playoffs is roster construction and coaching but also some of this is Embiid not being healthy at the right time. Like that game seven against the Raptors they might not have gotten to a game 7 if Embiid didn’t get sick for 2 out of the seven games. It feels like every year  he is always hurt when they get to the second round. I get injuries happen and not always his fault but it is what it is. It is hard for any organization to put a roster together that can win a second round series with your main guy continuously injured and not close to 100%. I know there’s been other times but it feels like the only time he was ever at 100% during the playoffs was in the bubble because he had all that time off until the bubble

No brace. Looks pretty good. Obviously not doing much lateral movement, but encouraging.

Bodes well for next year's MVP race.  Won't impact the Boston series.

Next year will be Embiid's last as a 1A player.

After that, he's going to have to be the second best player on a championship team.  Plenty of bigs have had success beyond that age, but there is 0 chance Embiid can carry a team beyond it.  His body is already saying that he can't carry a team.

Now, I don't think you just trade him for some assets so that another team wins a title with him as their 1B and that we tank while other teams use our picks.  That's the final circle of hell.  Might as well sit in purgatory until the tires fall off.

Interesting that theres no brace. I wonder if theyre just gaming Boston and it really was minor.

I think it’s a rope-a-dope and he plays.
