Shooters are fine.  Tying up 20 million per for the next 2 seasons for just that is not.  That's pretty much all I have to say on Hield.  If his price tag was half of what it is, then sure...bring him onboard.  He's not being paid like the role player he is.  Again, no beef with Hali.  He's certainly flashed some potential.  He's just got some growing to do.  Playoff basketball is a whole different animal.  Just ask Ben.

So you know the psyche/confidence of a player you don't watch?

That is like saying Ja Morant is going to start playing differently when it comes to playoff time.

Ben was a **** for years so playoff basketball didn't expose him to be a fraud. We have years of evidence of that.

My only question is what happens to the kid in that scenario? You trading Maxey?

Move Maxey off ball and start him with Haliburton

Harden, Maxey, Haliburton, Barnes, Embiid

Curry and Hield on the bench.

Sorry that you watch Kings basketball.  Nobody should have to endure that.

Doesn't that put 3 SG/PG on the floor at once?

Haliburton is 6'7'' with long arms and can defend the 3.

You start the game like that. most of the time one of those guys will be running with the bench unit.

Well considering the playoffs don’t start for some time now, what exactly do we have to go by other than the regular season? The East is wide open, and when you’ve got Embiid playing at this level you absolutely are a contender for the conference. Are they the favorite? No. Not right now, but the whole debate was how much better their chances would be if Morey had actually done the Kings deal.

Just look at the roster.   That’s all you need to know.  And the fact that the East is wide open is the only reason why they are only 2 games out.  In reality talent-wise they are a 4th-6th seed.
Embiid is playing great.  But when was the last time a big man did it all himself on the way to a title?   And yes, of course the Kings deal would have made them better.  It would have given them more guards and scoring options over what they have now.  You net Zero with Ben Simmons.  So how is a different player instead of Ben not an improvement?

Nets getting Simmons then probably picking up an Ibaka/Robin Lopez during buyouts makes them extremely dangerous as well.

You can't find a better spot for Simmons.

the whole big story of the Kings being willing to take Harris for Barnes, was that Barnes was then going to free up the cap space. In that scenario, Ben and Harris were out. Youd have Hield and Haliburton, and cap space to sign harden, or at least space to be allowed to do a sign and trade in which case you just have to be under the apron so you arent hard capped.

You had to take back Barnes, hield and Haliburton to do that trade. Barnes still had a year left on his deal at 18 mil so have to move Barnes in the offseason in order to create the full space by Harris being moved.

the sixers couldn’t outright sign (not sign and trade or trade) harden like reported earlier today with just unloading Harris to like Okc.

With Harden and Embiid on the floor I'd start Thybulle.  Enough scoring there already.  Haliburton/Maxey bench.  Not happening anyway so don't lose sleep over it.

Wait for the March Embiid injury.

Yep.

Whether they get Harden, Beal, or whoever else they aren’t winning if Embiid gets hurt. So no point in playing that game. All we can do is evaluate their chances with Embiid being healthy.

yes. Barnes would be moving as an expiring contract.

Just goes into the regular season doesn't matter. I can't think of a playoffs when he was healthy though.

Again, there’s nothing anyone can do to control that. Their only chance of winning without completely blowing things up and starting completely over is for Embiid to stay healthy. You cannot evaluate what moves this year could make them a contender with the assumption of Embiid getting hurt, because there is no move they can make that would overcome an Embiid injury. So it’s a pointless exercise.

Embiid/Harden/Dame Time?!?!?

Would you trade Maxey to get Dame?

the Shake thing is clearly a joke, but this one- Jake Fischer I think is semi-legit.

Paul Reed? seriously?

May be an image of 6 people and text that says 'See more SIXERS NATION SO Philadelphia 76ers Sixers Nation @PHLSixersNation 10h Per @JakeLFischer Paul Reed and Isaiah Joe are the 76ers players most often mentioned as trade candidates by rival executives. PHILA 586'

yeah, in that completely unlikely scenario they'd have to start matisse.  they'd get destroyed on the defensive end starting harden, maxey, & haliburton....but at least they'd have defensive stoppers curry & hield coming off the bench!

Nah, I ain’t even warmed up yet

he is right though. this is a team that as constructed will likely finish 1st place in the east.

Now what is the gap between the 1st place Eastern Conference team, and beating the best team in the West?

Some will say it takes another super star. Some of us believe adding to players the caliber of Hield and Haliburton with the level Embiid is playing at would make us contenders with anyone.

On the other hand, if the best super star you get is washed up Harden... that may not be enough either.

Finishing first in the regular season means nothing.  And as brought up by someone else, Embiid is going to get hurt and/or will need more of a break.  he needs help.

Even if Harden wasn't washed up, I do not see him being a good pairing with a ball dominant center.  Not a good match at all.

nance jr would also be coming to philly...he's not on the pels roster in the trade checker yet.  and there would be picks involved as well.

We already get frustrated with Doc's bench units blowing leads.  Curry and Hield could probably blow a 20 point lead in 2 minutes.

Kings fans are taking it well though...

[Massey] Per source, the #76ers have emerged as an interested trade suitor for #Celtics point guard Dennis Schroder. Plenty of teams, including the #Bucks and #Bulls previously reported by others, are also interested. Schroder would be a nice pickup for Philly.
