I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Go back to watch the game, it's on GamePass.

Wiz was in front of his man, Kelce came off a guy to his right, and turned to his left and blew up the DT (unnecessarily) and drove him into the side of Peters' leg.   Whether or not Peters had a particular issue with Wiz is neither here nor there.  That injury was the direct result of Kelce's overzealous block.  I discussed this just the other day in regards to the kid that put his hold and fling block on Twitter and the reaction to it from the players around him.  That was a BAD play, not something to be excited for or by.  It is far better to stonewall your man than to put him on the ground at the legs of your teammates or anyone else in the pocket area.

That was kind of my entire point which I why I asked you.  And it's absolutely relevant.  You're basically telling me that Wiz is the scapegoat.  But I guess Peters didn't see any of this on film?

I think that Peters didn't like Wiz, for whatever reason.  I don't think that play encompasses the whole of the situation.

Wiz did nothing wrong on that play.  He was in position, Kelce came over late and over-zealously knocked the DT to the ground.  That's not on Wiz.  Sure... if he had been 2 feet further up in the pocket, then Peters knee would have been safe, and the DE he was blocking would have been the target for the DT to hit.  I don't know why Peters was not good with Wiz, but I don't see how that play could be the linchpin.  If someone wants to actually break down the play and explain it, I'm all ears.

That's not true.  He was thrown in at RT to work there all week leading up to the game and he talked himself into failure there.

What are you suggesting they do with Seumalo?

You're right I thought he got no reps but he did get reps in the week.  I recall Stoutland blaming himself for not preparing him and that after that game, he gave Dillard more reps at RT and said he was improving.

Well I wouldn't have brought JP back at RG, but I'm saying I can see the point since they brought JP back putting him on the left side at guard.  I wouldn't commit to a starter, I would try out combinations in practice and see what fits best, but maybe JP on the left would be more comfortable for him.

I think you're right.  And he was not a fan of Wiz for whatever reason.  Maybe that's why Wiz is gone, who knows.

All I was saying is I believe Lane had a lot to do with Peters being back, especially if it ends up as a right guard.

That I agree with.  But, I think that if it had been Seumalo who blew out his Achilles, Peters would still be back, but at LG.

So awesome seeing McCutchen taking swings again.

I'm by no means an anti-vaxxer, but I can see why someone would be hesitant to get this one with how accelerated it's been pushed and them not having the standard timeline to run the trials.

Seems to be the prevailing thought. My local news did an online survey and only 28% said they would get vaccinated. And this is Florida. On the other hand, this is Florida.

@justrelax  Just got past page 1066.   Got me to thinking.  Have you ever read 1066 and all that?  It originated as a series of Punch articles.  I had a fabulously boring professor who literally lectured from the text in monotone for two semesters of English history. A friend pitied my pain and bought me a copy.  First published in 1930s but held up well.   Very quick satirical read.

For others looking for the significance of 1066, Google the Bayeux Tapestry. Yep, I am talking rugs.

I have always been amused by the concept of noble blood - that is, descendants from the Viking brigands who blackmailed the King of France into granting them Normandy, then conquered England due to a lucky arrow. Given their actual origins were some farmer in Norway who had a bad harvest and decided raiding was a better profession . .

Vikings OG Geoff Schwartz told me it was much easier moving from guard to tackle, or vice versa, than switching from side to side.

"If you look at most lines, the backup LT is the LG, or he's on the bench. Both teams I've played on, our backup LT was the LG.”

It seems it's a tough enough transition, without significant lead time, that teams would rather put a far less athletically able player on an island at left tackle than expect the guy on the right to swap sides in-game.

"It's very difficult for guys to be able to effectively play on both sides of the line without long hours practicing it,” Schwartz went on.

"That is why you don't often see linemen switching sides of the ball for injury or performance. Playing offensive line is a very technical position. Being a great athlete and a physical player can only take you so far if you don't use proper technique. You must drill over and over again to get the footwork and hand placement down. On top of that, mentally switching things over in your head can be tough at first. You’re used to reacting to movement on one side of the line of scrimmage, now it’s happening on the opposite side”.

That's not too surprising to hear, Florida or not Florida. Vaccines typically take years to develop and distribute and they're trying to pump this one out in a year's time. If I was pregnant, older, or had an underlying health condition, I'd be very hesitant.

This is why I've always viewed Herremans as one of the most underrated valuable players for the Eagles. He was able to play four of the five spots on the line at an extremely exceptional level.

12-18 months was the timetable for a vaccine. There have been certain people who have pushed "miracle cures" but those who are working on a potential vaccine are checking for all the possible variables.

Well, I guess it's a good thing that Peters is a ridiculous athlete.

This will be worth following.  Generally speaking, the antivaxers are ridiculous...childhood vaccines and flu shots alike.

Reservations about a novel vaccine under these circumstances would be fair.

Too bad hoskins looked like midseason form last year.

I have a meeting tomorrow that puts me in an odd position.

I have to meet with the "Head of School" and Athletic Director, followed by a meeting will all of our coaches.

We are supposed to discuss our "Fall Sports Recovery Plan" which I helped put together based on various different guidelines that have been published.

These people will be looking to me for answers and explanations on how this is all going to work, when I dont even really want to have these sports seasons.

Cant wait till this one is over.

Im not there. Im at a private school that doesnt really care that much about sports. The AD and coaches do, but the administration, teachers, most students and probably even about 50% of the athletes and 90% of the parents dont care either

I wish our school would just announce they arent participating in the fall.
