No. But some drugs "of last resort” did. That’s what they call them. As I said, interesting. Good as new now, well, depending on how one defines new.

What,  were there political ads in heaven?

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

If they could spend a few thousand on a decent server, I don't know why the excellent sound system already  at the linc couldn't be accessed by an audio chatroom. You see 1000s access chatrooms all the time on the internet. I'm not sure what, or even if there's a maximum number of fans that could log in. Perhaps limit it to season ticket holders if necessary, including some live video of fans logged in trough zoom or whatever so players could look up at he bigscreen to be reminded. This is to provide some of the atmosphere players are accustomed to.

I think Ward has the inside track.  I do think they could keep JJaw over Ward just based on JJaw's draft status.  They might also want to add both of the later round rookies to the roster rather than the practice squad.  The real issue will be if Alshon is healthy.  I mean if he is cleared for play he may very well be in contention for a spot. I do think Ward should be on track for a spot.  If nothing else, he was a reliable receiver down the stretch.  Here's what I would like to see:

1) Reagor

2) Desean

3) Goodwin

4) JJaw

5) Ward

6) Hightower

PS Quez Watkins, PUP Alshon

But I could easily see them keeping Hightower and Watkins over Ward.  If for no other reason than Ward isn't as likely to be picked up by another team.  So he still will be around if they need him.

Good to hear you're doing OK.

Yeah I don’t see them trying to get Watkins or Hightower on the PS. Too much risk there. No one is going to sign Ward. If we need him then we’ll call.

I don't think that is the case anymore. While it was true for a couple of years, he showed enough at the end of last season where I think it's a lock that some team would claim him on waivers.

Home field advantage is gone. There’s no fan noise to worry about. It’s going to be an interesting season (that I still believe won’t happen).

Did he though? He was our only receiver by the end of the year. IMO It’s a similar situation to Matthews. He did great cause we had crap else to throw to.

I agree. I think he’s a bottom of the roster receiver in the NFL and is bolstered by special teams value.

I do wonder though how active teams will be on waivers. Will they have patience with their younger bottom of the roster guys due to a weird offseason, or will they be willing to quickly move on?

I disagree on ward. I think some team looking for a 4/5 WR that can also play special teams would pick him up. Last year at the end of the year showed he is deserving to be a back end of the roster player. I think someone would claim him.

I think Hightower or Watkins is going to have an "injury” to move them to IR. I also think it depends on how they look in camp. I am not sure if they have a rookie year camp like gibson the eagles keep one even though they did so with gibson.

would rather have Ward than Goodwin

I think Goodwin is a lock, and I would rather have Goodwin.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a team has an injury in camp that the eagles look to trade Goodwin for a mid-late round pick. Do i think this happens? No i wouldn’t be shocked if it were too occur though.

One thing to note regarding Ward is that he cannot play as an outside receiver. He’s a slot-only guy for an offense that projects to play 12 personnel 50 percent of the time.

That means ~50 percent of the snaps for three WRs. When healthy DJax would soak up about half of those (he was actually at 32 percent in the slot last year), leaving 20-25 percent more snaps for other receivers. Marquise Goodwin played in the slot about 15 percent of his snaps in SF the past two years, moderately relevant because of Scangarello’s familiarity with him under Shanahan. Of course he’s no roster lock.

With those two’s injury concerns it would make sense to want a somewhat reliable if underwhelming player like Ward.

The Eagles, I would imagine, will keep JJAW at the X only and they’ve already said Reagor is gonna learn behind DJax at the Z.

Hightower would be the next guy on the depth chart IMO but I’m not sure where he’ll line up. I believe Caplan said he’d start at X, but my memory may be off.

We only added four of them this year, the Eagles must not think it’s important.

Wow, maybe they should make the drugs "of first resort" instead.

But Matthews did get picked up by another team, so yes Ward might get picked off. Doesn't mean he will make it though

Depends on why they are 'last resort'.  With no information... it's hard to make any conclusions.

Yeah, I know it was sarcasm

Honestly IMHO if ward makes the team by anything more than the skin of his teeth (5th or 6th) we might not have gotten much better at receiver.

Interesting nugget. Pretty sure this wasn't the Eagles, I can't think of a Pro Bowler that doesn't fit the system that would still be on this team at this point.
