Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I didn't have a problem with what Brees said, but there are other people approaching this from different perspectives too. People kneeling to the flag are opting out because they don't feel a sense of ownership to this country, which is the deeper issue to the police stuff, etc. They don't feel like the police works FOR them as a citizen.

Its not a slight, but it is a problem that needs to be solved, like "oh we're sitting out because we don't feel this". You can't force people to feel that way, but you can work towards getting them to feel that way. So that perhaps soon they may also proudly put their hand on their heart for THEIR country, the USA.

My two cents.

Poor Brees this is now his legacy

The answer to the question the reporter asked Brees regarding the anthem was sincere, thought out and honest from Brees.

The apology was sincere, thought out and I feel honest as well.

What the heck do people want?  It's ridiculous anymore.  There is only 1 set of rules anymore to follow and if you don't agree the hell with you.

Vic Fangio and Marcus Spears (on ESPN Radio Sunday) said the same thing about the NFL team environment being colorblind.  One of them got destroyed for being insensitive.  The other did not.

It's almost impossible to speak anymore without the commenter and every word, movement, or pause being analyzed 1000x over.

Am I out of line saying Covid news is now falling on deaf ears.   Everything we've been told to do (shelter, social distance, mask, no large groups etc.) has now taken a back seat to protests where every single rule that has been beaten in to us by Gov. Wolf, Levine, the media, commercials, celebrities and the like has been broken.  The 3 color phase for PA has changed every week.  Greennow says if you want to have a gathering outside there are no limits, use your best judgement.

Gov Wolf was out protesting with hundreds, same with Mayor Helfrich here in York who actually came out and admitted his hypocricy after protesting and lifted all bans in the city of York.  People who were fighting for PA to re-open (no not people who want a haircut or their nails done) were told they were cowards for protesting on the steps.

It will be interesting to see where our numbers stand in 2 weeks.  They are getting lower by the day.

you are not alone brother, I was just saying that last night as well. I mentioned how it suddenly seems like COVID has ceased to exist. We are all safe and can all congregate in mass and protest together. The university of washington Medical department actually encourages protesting during COVID. Clearly COVID highlights the inequities in healthcare in this country, but that does not mean it is safe to go out and protest this injustice. I think we are in store for a relapse, although I hope it turns out that COVID is seasonal and the numbers continue to decline.

I love Michael Kist. 50% football tweets, 50% stuff like this.

Congrats, you should be Brees new PR person. If he said that word for word no one would bat an eye.

Thanks, I'm available if he needs someone

It may be.  But, at the same time, there's the story of the 102 year old lady that eats eggs and bacon every day of her life, smokes 2 packs a day, etc.   And then there's the 40 year old health nut that dies from a heart attack while jogging.  My genes are what they are.  I can't change them, and I can only fight so much against them.  Both my grandfathers were active until they hit 80+... one well beyond.  My dad is very active... and is 77.  I'll take what comes... good or bad.  I appreciate the advice.  I eat healthy foods, and I eat unhealthy foods.  The way I see it, too much of either is a bad thing.   Some health food is amazingly delicious, as is some unhealthy food.  Some unhealthy food isn't worth eating... same for some healthy food.    I even planted kale this year.  If that's not "health food", I don't know what is.  ;)

Sure and don't get me wrong I definitely eat stuff that is bad for me, sometimes I wonder if I approach gluttony status. I just am starting to learn a little more self control (I have always exercised) in the interest of a better life while I'm here.

Exactly why it’s almost pointless to apologize.

I feel like the overwhelmingly disproportionate amount of african Americans in prison would stand to argue with the bolded.

There have been numerous examples of black men getting harsher sentences than white men for similar crimes. Do you think if Brock Turner gets off free if he were black? That is one of many examples.

You don't hear about cops killing unarmed white men too often. And I don't mean on the news, you don't see it anywhere. Nothing on twitter, nothing on instagram, no petitions. We would hear about it somehow but for some reason, we don't. Is it not possible that it just doesn't really happen to white people?

Drew brees said it isnt time to talk its time to listen to black peoples pain.

What the heck do they want? They want to be heard, hard to be heard when a white person is talking over you.

What do they want, they want us to acknowledge their pain. You being asked to listen instead of talk doesnt make you a victim😒

I thought this was a lighthearted joke in an attempt to bring some humor today

Nope, according to multiple reports even NPR hes been taken into custody in spain for the death of a man during a ritual involving toad venom.

I wonder what the end game was here😕

I can't wait for this.  I hate that fan base and that team more than I should.

People still know the risks. To some this issue is bigger than Covid, and that should be telling.  "I can’t breathe” has been a thing long before Covid for POC.

You do know those numbers are not on your side, right? You can’t just look at total numbers, you need to look at percentages.

Well I must be confused then because nowhere in that table chart does it list an "unarmed” category.

maybe you’re confused too.

I had posted this on FB recently, so doing it from memory.  If you apply the fact that 76.5% of the population is white and 13.4% is black, 1 in every 60,000 black people are shot to death by police and 1 in every 200,000 white people are shot to death by police.

I really hope the move to safety works out for Mills

I like his attitude towards the game and fans.

But if you factor police encounters, the numbers dont show a bias

People who use raw numbers in arguments want to run the ball on 2nd and 10 to "establish the run".
