I can't wait for this.  I hate that fan base and that team more than I should.

Definitely a difficult fan base to not dislike. After 2017 eagles super bowl, all  they did is  whine about how they would have beat eagles had they played.

Well they didnt play the eagles because they choked and lost to the vikings then a year later after talking all off season choked again and again this past year. I never really hated the Saints but after 2017 i was like these dudes are dallas cowboy level clowns without the hardware.😒

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

You do know those numbers are not on your side, right? You can’t just look at total numbers, you need to look at percentages.

Just exactly  how am I on one side or the other?

If the cop did what it appears he did he's going away for a long time. As it should be.

People have a right to protest, as it should be.

They don't have a right however to destroy other peoples property, businesses or as happened in St Louis and Oakland kill people, black people. If you feel rioting and looting are acceptable we will NEVER agree

I had posted this on FB recently, so doing it from memory.  If you apply the fact that 76.5% of the population is white and 13.4% is black, 1 in every 60,000 black people are shot to death by police and 1 in every 200,000 white people are shot to death by police.

Thats quite the disparity.😞

Well I must be confused then because nowhere in that table chart does it list an "unarmed” category.

maybe you’re confused too.

I'm not confused at all. Someone posted statistics, a factual, verifiable response.

Not an emotional one. Running on emotion gets you burned in the end.

I suspect this cop was running on pure emotion. He's now going to pay for that with his life in prison.

But if you factor police encounters, the numbers dont show a bias

I don’t know whether that is true or not, but even if it is you’re still not understanding.

2 encounters are not equal. The police aren’t approaching a white person the same way they do a black person. That is the issue.

Who is "they"? Rioting and looting is being done by people of all colors taking advantage of the protest. I implore you to just take a look at some of the videos being posted all over social media. If you can’t separate the rioting and looting from the actual peaceful protests that are going on all over the Country then yes, we will never agree.

Exactly why it’s almost pointless to apologize.

LOL what would you suggest as his next plan of action?  Bury it until the season starts, then the team completely revolts against him?

People who use raw numbers in arguments want to run the ball on 2nd and 10 to "establish the run".

I prefer to run it on 1st and 10 or 2nd and 6 or less. I always hated passing on first down with an incomplete pass and then running on 2 and 10

C'mon man, it's pretty clear by "they" he meant looters.

Everyone in here knows scumbags come in all colors and races, right?

RIOTERS AND LOOTERS are they.

It's beginning to look like you're looking for something to be offended about

It’s not clear cause he’s speaking as if the protesters and rioters are the same thing. They are not. So I want to know what "they” he’s referring to.

Yup and there are scumbags in EVERY profession...Police and NFL alike.  Let's not pretend how much crap we overlook from dirtbags because we want our teams to win.

Those kind of individuals should not exist in the police. One life taken unjustly is one life too many.

Same reason why the death penalty shouldn’t be a thing.

Why? Are you suggesting more white people should be killed by police to better match population percentages? Or are you suggesting that police killing black people would be more acceptable if fewer were killed to better match population percentages?

I can tell you aren't actually into statistical analysis if you think this means what you seem to be arguing. The raw numbers are helpful, but you need to contextualize them. White people are 72% of the population as of the last census and black people are 13%. So just on those numbers alone, you should start to see a disparity in the rates of each of those. There have been plenty of studies out there, so I'm not going to get into specifics, especially because most people have made up their mind about their beliefs on the subject and are very prone to confirmation bias. I'll just say that if you just look at the analytical data, it's obvious there is a problem.

There are also some reasons for those problems. Left overs from redlining and Jim Crow that have kept poor urban areas poor and those areas also happen to correlate to higher black percentages. Poor areas, regardless of color, tend to have more crime. Higher rates of police are then put into those areas, so there becomes higher arrest rates in those areas so there is a bit of reporting bias that goes to that as well. Then add in to the proven higher conviction and sentence rates in poor areas, regardless of race (though there are studies here as well), and you end up with a population that many times grows up with less parents and the problems that brings as well. These are all reasons and there are a bunch more, school funding, etc.

Obviously you want it at 0, but if you don’t think the fact that POC are killed at a much higher rate is an issue, then there’s no point in talking.

it’s not coincidence.

or at the least, make you sound "confused” as to why those statistics were posted in the first place.

MLK didnt agree with rioting and violence but he understood its origins and could empathize and said," rioting is the voice of the unheard"

Police exist to protect corporate interests and serve and protect capitalism. Looting is a form of protest against capitalism a system that historically unequally represents minorities, and can be seen as a redistribution of capitol to the working poor class. At least in theory.

The violence towards other humans is not just anger but has historically been perpetrated by those in power to dissuade peaceful protest.

If one is more upset about a burnt building or stolen toaster than one is about a cop openly murdering a black man than one is part of the problem.

One can say looting and rioting isnt protesting and murder isnt policing either.

If one wants to end a riot without ending its root cause ones agenda isnt about peace and justice, its about silence and control.
