Not being a smarta$$ but does that mean they can stop kneeling?  What else do organizations have to do?

I mean MILLIONS of dollars are being donated, bail is being posted for "protesters", statutes are being torn down, buildings are being renamed, TV shows are being cancelled, bands are changing their names, Paw Patrol...a dog cartoon for kids is being targeted now, you can't turn on any device without seeing a BLM message, police are being defunded, police officers are getting charged for being violent, George Floyd had 4 funerals with a gold plated casket and we let people destroy our cities with little to no consequence, white people are kissing the shoes and kneeling before black people and there is a 6-block area in Seattle where they (Antifa,BLM) have started their own "country"  Changes to police training and accountability will come in the future, won't happen overnight.  There are going to be countless other actions taken, other statues taken down, other donations and on and on and on.

I know the ultimate answer is going to be when unarmed black men stop getting killed, however the country has responded.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I love mine, a 4 pound pot roast only takes an hour as opposed to slow cooking all day in a crockpot. I cannot wait to get back home and use mine again

I have a recipe for coq du vin that I am dying to try if only I could find some leg quarters.

JR, here is a quiz. Consider the following photo of a confederate monument on the grounds of the Florida Capitol.  There are two egregious mistakes.

I am thinking Sharpsburg (MD, not VA) and of course, Gettysburg (their spelling, Gettisburgh).

Good to hear. Waiting on my mortar and pestle.  Then the cure.

White rice. Grind grind grind. Rinse with water and repeat. When the powdered rice comes out white you’ve ground enough. You can tell by feel as well. Two hours total time should do it.

At a quick glance I would say that neither Sharpsburg nor Gettysburg (no h, please) were in Virginia. Should I look deeper?

There's no "E" in Sharpesburg either.

Thanks, but I saw it but I got distracted in responding.  :P  I was bonding with my son over the old Gamecube Mario Baseball.

In today's education, I just need to claim I had technology issues and should be exempt.

Those who forget their history are condemned to repeat it.” This sentence, often attributed to the philosopher George Santayana, is actually a misquotation of his comment, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

If these monuments are removed that's exactly what will happen

It may make someone feel good for a short period of time but in the long run it is counterproductive.

I’m aware he ran the most against 8 man fronts, although that’s not just a byproduct of trying to stop Henry. It’s a byproduct of facing 12 and 21 personnel too. DCs tend to prefer being plus-1 in the box.

That’s not to be totally dismissive of Henry’s role in that, because obviously he’s good, but the OL matters far more.

When I say RBs don’t matter, I don’t mean put Wendell Smallwood in there and he’d do the same thing. But there are a lot of RBs or RB committees that can replicate what Henry provides.

I dont know about that, cant think of too many teams that have a RB that just wears down defenses that dont want to tackle him anymore coupled with a coach that will just let that big physical o line beat on defenses.

Eagles have a physical o line but they dont have any body running behind it that has the physicality henry does, hes the epitome of beast and all those stacked box fronts open up alot of passing opportunities against single coverage and play action opportunities.

Tannenhill without that running game is probably tannenhill, with it hes good.

I am going to come to their defense in terms of the listings (not the spellings!)...

I'm guessing what they really mean is the battles fought by the "Army of Northern Virginia"... which became shortened to merely "Virginia"...

Of course, if that's true then the other side should likely be "Tennessee", as in the "Army of Tennessee".

I’m going to change your grade to a C.

The monument is to Florida natives that fought in various campaigns. The campaigns are sorted geographically.

I like the garlic bulb with peppercorns as an option followed by the white rice until it comes out a white paste and finished with a couple spoonfuls of rock salt to powder method I saw.  First thing I plan is guacamole after the cure. Have you done any real aioli with yours. I am going to have fresh peppers to go with my vibrant herb garden herbs in a few weeks.

I am thinking of planting garlic this fall. Anyone have any luck with that?

Really think so?  Who represented MO in the Confederate legislature?  Who was their governor?  Who drafted their article of secession? What exactly did it say?  The monuments weren’t constructed until the 1920s for the most part or later.  Do the monuments argue for or against rebellion or maintenance of slaves like all the states articles of secession did? What history does that help us remember?  Guess we should put up monuments towards King George, Napoleon, Santa Ana, Kaiser Wilhelm, Hitler, Rommel, Speer, Goebbels, Goerhing, Mussolini, Bin Laden, Hussein etc. so we don’t forget the past. Nonsense.

Yes I do believe it. if these monuments were destroyed people would eventually forget what happened

Monuments serve as a reminder of what not to do

Oooh he said white rice

Change the name

It cracks me up everything is to blame except the black community

Look in the mirror you need to change also

Disclaimer- Not saying people should still be flying the Confederate Flag.  Just looking at the situation and trying to understand why it's so important to some.  A lot of country boys here in South Central PA fly them for the wrong reasons and I don't agree with that one bit.  I've never owned one outside of the General Lee when I was a kid.

HIs explanation wasn't as clear and thought out as Drew Brees but I give him credit for standing up for what he believes in.  When I was a kid (80s child here) I loved the Dukes of Hazzard.  I thought the Confederate Flag looked so cool, I loved the design.  As a kid I had no idea the ramifications behind the flag, I just liked how it looked.  In my defense I also thought Pontiac Fieros looked cool.  I've always liked the tune of Dixie and I have no relation to anyone in the south, I just always loved hearing Ole Miss play it after a TD and hearing the crowd go crazy.  Sometimes you just like how things look and sound.  For that matter I even own some NWA albums.

I think to many in the south it means so much to them and their families.  There are a lot of southerners who to no fault of their own have relatives who fought for the Confederates.   Southern pride is real and it runs deep.  I don't think it's racist, it's being proud of where you come from.  It's almost like being from the south is their Alma Mater (insert southern bumpkin joke if you want).  They aren't running around hating on black people, segregating bathrooms or any of that nonsense.  They are just being proud southerners.  Doesn't mean they hate America either.

The flipside is that you do have Alt-Right groups who DO hate and wave that flag because of what it means.

I think we owe southern people the same opportunity to understand why they have so much pride in that flag as we do trying to understand anyone else.  Our nation is made up of so many different kinds of people who have many different beliefs.  That's what makes America great.  We are a melting pot of so many cultures.  I wish we could respect all for what they believe in.  It's not our job to change those beliefs either, it's our job to accept that our neighbors might not be like us.
