Wrestling is EXACTLY a daytime soap opera.  But, its done in leotards, etc.

The thingsthat make wrestling compelling are the storylines and the characters. But storylines are mostly rinse and repeat of old ones.

the characters to cheer/boo/root for/laugh at are what brings people back. From Ric Flair to The Rock to Stone Cold to The Undertaker to The Man... their gimmicks draw you in and entertain. And you have to have their foils be good and entertaining as well to tell a story through beating each other up and yelling at each other through a microphone.

when a cool/interesting character comes around, then the kids will connect to it and another resurgence

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Honestly besides cena the WWE has really lacked great personalities/characters over the last decade it’s why triple H and undertaker were around as long as they have been. Part is they love doing what they do but part is the WWE has failed to produce personalities like the rock or stone cold or Shawn michaels or the ones who came before them for a while. I’ve watched a couple times over the last decade but the personalities of those guys just aren’t there. It also didn’t help their cause with their fan base as it became more PC with no blood and things of that nature.

Are we giving Clowney the Voldemort, "he who shall not be named" treatment?

Some very notable free agents as well.  It's crazy to think guys like Clowney, Ryan, Warford, Griffen, Dareus etc are still out there.

Frankly no reason for any of them to sign right now. They have less leverage today as No team is completely desperate in June/beginning of July. Wait for a training camp or preseason injury or someone doesn’t meet a team’s expectation during training camp/preseason and then they have more power in negotiations. (Add on pandemic might not even be a season so there’s also that going on). Like eagles wanna see what Pryor looks like and the younger guys. If they are bad or not good enough I’m guessing the eagles make a call to warford and he likely had more leverage then he would signing from mid May to beginning of July

Brown, Evans and Godwin with Gronk/Howard would be just ridiculous

One could even go as far to call that...a Dream Team

Yeah but it’s going to be glorious when it implodes.

I do think centrist Democrats and Republicans are fairly close in terms of taxation policy.  I think right and left plays out very differently on the local, state and federal levels.

My experience with centrists is they pay their taxes and expect elected officials to spend the money like they were pulling out their billfold to do so.

While I understand this sentiment,  what sports?  Nascar?  Golf?  What is happening is tied to sports.  Its very possible there will be no big four depending upon the infection rate of players/coaches/staff once teams begin to Some may not like, but this is our collective lives right now.

I know that there's nothing much going on, but we have CVON for politics and social issues, that's where those discussions belong. So I'm not saying 'Hey, don't talk about those things!', I'm saying, 'talk about those things in the place where those things are supposed to be talked about'. TATE isn't that place, CVON is.

Does the board have the ability to thread ban people for a period of time? Anytime someone makes a political post they get banned from posting in the blog for 24hrs, because this is getting unbearably toxic.

I don't think so, I've never seen any such feature. The closest thing would be turning off someone's ability to post in a particular forum. For instance, if it was me who was the 'offender', an Admin could turn off my ability to post in TATE all together. I could read the posts, just not reply or make new threads.

leotards?  those my friend are called singlets. I wrestled from 6th grade through high school, everyone would have killed you for calling them that back in my day.

The Blog has always been Eagles and other subjects. Many on the Blog never venture elsewhere.

Since we own this board, can’t we just police ourselves.

I don't think he cares if we venture occasionally. Just not everyday all day

How are we going to ban idiots ourselves? There has to be mods and mods have to do what's best for the over all site, no?

That said , I see no chance of him in Tampa.

For a few reasons.  1 they dont need him

2 Bruce already said ,it will not happen

Evans

Godwin

Howard

Tyler Johnson

Gronk

Brate

Miller

Watson

Not enough balls to go around

Plus they drafted a pretty good receiving back in Keyshawn Vaughn
