Welcome back. How are you feeling?

Crappy. Had a setback. A little short of breath, but only a little. A further setback and it's oxygen tests and a chest x-ray but I'm not there yet and have no intention of getting there.  I read and i sleep and I watch something stupid and I sleep and I read. Thank goodness for Ron Chernow and William Lee Miller. My pile of books by the bed is dwindling. Recommendations are welcome. I like history, any history, a good spy novel, anything by James Crumley, Mick Herron, John D. MacDonald, Lee Child, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, etc. Pretty broad range. Liked The Swerve a lot.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I would be okay with waiting until Thanksgiving, playing a ten game season, and then having some playoff system followed by a Super Bowl in March.  I just want football. And I don't even care about college football. I'm talking NFL football. That's all that really matters to me.

I'm kind of the opposite.  I'm a college football junkie, nothing compares.  I love the Eagles but there's so much about the college game that I love.  At this point I'm OK if the seasons are delayed...heck it's already July who would have thought.  What needs to be decided is what's the ultimate cut off date for a delayed season and how car past the original end date are they willing to go without having an impact on the 2021 season.

If there is no football, what the networks should do is make every game from the past or maybe the last 5 years, NFL, NCAA, NBA, NHL, MLB and make it accessible via On Demand.

We need sports more than ever right now.  Everyday political BS, social justice and Covid is just dIviding our country.  Think about how much sports, concerts, movies and events bring us together despite our differences.  We need that so bad.

In what way would the Cowboys have a rivalry with Dean Blandino?   He's been a Jerrah party boy.    Boy, the Boys fans are delusional.

Honestly their biggest rival might be Jerry Jones ego vs. cowboys

I've mentioned this before but I think it's worth repeating. I was at that game and stayed until the conclusion. Even with the snow and the disgusting nature of the game. As the game was winding down, I was literally the only person in my section who was still there. The security guard (or usher) came over at one point and asked me why I was staying. I told him I bought the ticket, I'm damn well going to use it. I was actually offended at the question.

Lol, that was part of my reasoning, as I never left early back then, but also, there was a very strong vibe that night that there would be a mass exodus after the Reggie White ceremony, and it made no sense to me to leave early just to sit in traffic. I figured I may as well stay, and let traffic clear out, which is exactly how it worked out. I left, got in my truck, and drove home. It worked out perfectly.

Been saying that for months.

I'm back, by the way. I was assured that there would be no political ads. I do not begrudge the board any income, but I want no political ads - for any candidate - until 2022.  We'll be inundated with them anyway, just not here. I want to thank @VaBeach_Eagle for making this so. If you PM me, I will be happy to forward you a check in supprt.

Right now, donations aren't needed. If the season is cancelled, we'll be set until next year because without games, we won't need to upgrade the hosting package until next season.

As for political ads, I've already blocked all political ads, so none should show up again.

I'm curious why we still haven't heard from the NFL on anything regarding what they are going to do for team travel.  That is really the core issue here if you're going to talk about games, byes, etc.  Keeping all league personnel including players media and family safe during all of the travel required in a typical NFL week of games.

The NHL and the NBA have it figured out.

But I don't see anything like that working for football.  Which could be a potential dealbreaker, IMO.

It’s all being negotiated currently

Good to see you back. Take care of yourself.

Whole bunch of random notes about my car today. Feel free to discuss any of them.

- Hit 100k miles on the 2013 Kia Optima yesterday. Kia gets a bad wrap. This is a good car.

- On that note, might finally be time for the first repair. Have not had to do anything other than brakes and oil changes so far. But now I have a squeaky wheel, especially when I turn to the right.

-Major PSA. Do not ever buy Nokian tires. These were recommended by a friend. All season tire. Made in Scandanavia where they know how to make a tire for snow. I got these in winter. My car is front wheel drive. I thought I was getting a hell of a tire for winter without getting an actual snow tire. They had an 80,000 mile warranty. My tires today measured 1/32. I only got 35,000 miles on them. Who knows how many less miles they were when they were at 2/32 which would actually fail inspection. But, theyre already at a 1. Horrible. Im sure I could try to get them replaced under the warranty, but I dont even want another set of those pieces of crap.

-Ceramic "wax" is great. Relatively new type of product on the market. My first time using it. I first used turtle wax hybrid ceramic car wash. It was really as simple as washing your car and you get a great protective ceramic coating with great water beading. Then I decided to clay bar my car today. I was a little disappointed that the clay bar seemed to take off most of the coating.

Water wasnt beading nearly as much. I then tried Meguiars hybrid ceramic spray. I sprayed it on a wet car after washing, and wiped with a cloth to dry and spread the product at the same time. My car is hella shiny from a distance, but this left streaks. It almost looks like I did a poor job buffing off old fashioned wax. This is how you are supposed to do the first application with this spray product. Future applications you are supposed to spray on, and then actually use a strong jet setting on your hose to spray the product off your car which is actually supposed to spread it. Seems weird. Ill try it that way next time and see if it makes a difference with the streaks.

I also did my wife's car today. I washed hers with the turtle wax hybrid ceramic while I clay barred. It worked well. I then hit it with a second wash with a greater concentration of the ceramic soap. Her car is looking great.

After these few trials using these products in different ways, I prefer the turtle wax ceramic hybrid car wash soap. Its just so easy. Applies a great shine with great beading protection. And is as easy as just washing a car.

As you can see football news is picking up

Get well soon!

Hang in there!

Although it more mythology fantasy stuff, American Gods is really great, although short.

Figured I'd read it before watching the TV show I heard is great.

It has a lot of mythical history about gods over the time of man I've found pretty fascinating and it is quite hilarious.

I drive a 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid and love it.  I’ve also owned a 2016 Genesis G80.  The current Genesis G70 and Kia Stinger are two of the best drivers cars on the road if you don’t want to get fleeced buying a German sedan.

I used to own a 2010 Mercedes E550 and don’t miss it much.

That works well for signs, it works far less effectively with sentences and paragraphs.  It ends up as near gibberish.

My next car WILL be a Kia Stinger. I just cant afford one yet.

Though have you seen the news on the K5? Theres gonna be a GT version with a twin turbo, and a GT Line version with AWD.

Ill either get one of them, or probably a used stinger in the next year or 2.

I freakin love the stinger. It has everything you can want. The performance. The drivability and comfort of a daily driver. The AWD for winter weather. The cargo capacity of the hatch back. Great reliability. And comes with the best warranty around.

Pathetically Ive been looking at a 2020 Stinger GT Line almost every day just wishing it would drop in to my price range (it never will). I cant wait for the day I can go buy.

ah... I used it for a hidden picture that someone brought to work for us to do back in the day when the hospital was super slow. Dont know how this lady found a hidden picture in Azerbaijani. It worked but those were just single words saying what the items were that we were supposed to find.

Yep. My Stinger is a really, really fun drive. Most people that see it have no idea its a Kia either

The only thing I don't like about my Stinger is there is no automatic trunk open, but that's because i'm lazy. I don't remember but the 2019 might have it, not sure.
