Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Damn I got Don’d 😞

I was wondering if tying your salary to a percentage of the cap is a good idea during these COVID times. If league income is down in 2020 because there are no fans in attendance which seems likely or if at least part of the season is cancelled, how much would the cap decrease? Wouldn't that seem to be bad for Mahomes? He's better off with 10 years, $45M per.

I'm not a sports agent, obviously, but with the limited details that have come out so far it seems like banking on a percentage is high risk for the player and actually more favorable to ownership. At this point it seems all but a given that revenue will be down in the NFL compared to your average year. If they don't want the cap to go down next year then they have to basically leverage it against future years. So the big question is at what point can they operate without restrictions and how many years will they have to offset the 2020 and possible future loss just to keep the cap the same? He's better off without the percentage, with some option years.

This made me laugh

@NCiggles   Sorry, bro.  We waited as long as we could.   I put two ribs aside for you.  Even saved you some Zucchini and Swiss Chard.

My guess is no deal gets done next season with Dak unless they significantly over pay him.  Also, if you were McCarthy would you want to tie your future to Dak or try to get your own QB.

Howie deserves credit for the Wentz extension. That deal is already a steal

Interesting question.  What QB will he theoretically be in position to add?
Free Agents: Prescott, Brissett, Trubisky

Draft: The best QB available might not even get to play until March or April in the NCAA Season... or do they go for Trevor Lawrence?  Justin Fields?  Have they done enough to make anyone feel more confident in them than Prescott, who is NOT great, but is definitely in the top half of the NFL starting QBs.

Time for Bill O'Brien to do something stupid with Watson.

Sign him to a megadeal and then trade him for pennies on the dollar.

It is. Wentz's injury history played a big factor in it getting done too. Made Wentz a little more desperate to get that big deal as soon as possible considering his back injury.

Tasted very good too!   I've still got a ways to go before it's superb.  One thing will be developing my own rub.   The one I used was too salty.  Still good, but next time... I build my own rub.  Or go with one of the 'fancier' ones on the internet.

Wonder what this will do to the chiefs cap going forward. Extension doesn’t kick in until 2022, so I guess they have some time.

Theres no way hes worth that much, thats total insanity

Wink Wink.  Only 12.4%.   What would that number be if the money that the Pats put into TB12 counted?

Richest contract in sports history, wow. WOW.

If Wentz can just stay healthy, we have him on a bargain and a half.

He is. His style of play allows him to succeed with less around him imo. His ability to drop back beyond 7-steps and still make all the throws is such a nice leg up on the rest of the league. He's a unique player.

If you break it down to the average 40 hours per week salary Mahommes is only making about $21,634 per hour.

He's worth nearly 25% of the cap?   Well, he's going to HAVE to succeed with less around him.  And the biggest issue is, as he ages, he's going to lose some of that mobility and arm strength.  I wonder if he'll be worth it come 2025.

Oh... is that all?  🤣

I hope he can afford to feed his family.

He's like 25 or 26. No one's worried about him losing his mobility or arm strength anytime soon.

EDIT: Not even 25 yet...
