I watched Davis Mills grow up in 15 minutes.Darnold will be tested now that Caff is out

The TEAM has to play well enough to possess the ball for enough plays to judge any WR or RB. The defense can’t continue to allow first downs via the run game chewing up clock. At the same time, the offense has to gain first downs consistently. The game vs the Niners, neither of those things happened. Sanders is a very good RB. But how many times can you give him the ball of you are running three plays and punting….and then getting gashed while the opponent executes an 18 play drive?

Hurts played way better than expected week one. He regressed in week 2, but had limited errors (ints or fumbles). Did his WRs get separation? Does he just not process through his reads fast enough? Does he see the defense and know how to attack it? To me those are simple things if this is your job. But the defense gets paid to disrupt his success.
I think he will never be accurate enough to be a star at the position. Combine that fact with lack of arm strength, makes for a great backup career. However, his athleticism may intrigue coaches enough to be a starter…..for too long. But hey, Dilfer won a Super Bowl. Haha.

Disagree, because (not withstanding key injuries) I think it comes down to team chemistry/individual performances vs. how does their stamina hold out when going through the late stretch of the season + an extra game to boot.

But by game 7/8 we SHOULD know what works, what's most effective. The experimentation is done(or most of it) This was an issue I had last year and I was pleased when they told Mailiata "YOU are our LT".Not more Ped BS changing things all over the place.lTurns out Dillard was more of a wasted pick that Mailata. Gainwell by week 7/8,we should know what he can do and how best to utilize him and when. I'm not saying the WORK is over at 7/8 but any changers we make by then should be very minor

I don't think Hurts regressed, he just faced a defense that was twice as good. But yeah the run game vanished like it did Under Ped and once again we didn't use our TE's(or much else) and we'd better use them for Dullaz. Hurts won't last if he has to play like Jameis Winston.By week 7/8 we should know alot more

Poor Mills, his O line is about as effective as stretching Saran wrap across the X way to stop traffic

Whether your judging Hurts or whomever got to realize this is a new scheme and offense. Don’t see guys having everything perfected immediately. It takes time. I’m not really thinking Siri is any brilliant HC or offensive mastermind. So all players are limited from the start.

Felt like Hurts should have handed it to the RB more in these RPOs.

Welp, pulling for the Panthers, but that GL play by Darnold should, have been whistled dead, especially after he lost his helmet. That was a bad call letting it go(and then they pushed him over)

Looking at the early signs of Gains not sure we will end up bringing Sanders back in two years.

If Gainwell can keep flashing find some consistency as a runner he would seem to be a better fit in Siri offense that likes to use RBs as pass catchers also seems to be ahead as a pass protector.

Never thought Sanders was going to get a 2nd contract here.   He runs nice when there is a hole, which most RBs could run through.  Doesn't offer much in terms of carrying the workload, situational football, hands,  blocking... although he did have one nice block vs SF.    Good committee RB, just don't see them spending the money on him.  But who knows.  A lot of young guys here including Sanders,we'll see.   But I like this Gainwell kid.

Whilst I'm going to argue that Sanders is a complete stud and a top 3 RB I do think this is a little harsh. He's a very very good runner and he offers something in the pass game too. Plus his blocking has really improved. The bigger question is actually around whether it is worth investing good money in a RB full stop.

when we were kids growing up, the Gym Teachers and coaches all made us stretch before any physical activity. They said is was the most important exercise to prevent muscle pulls.

Why then do I NEVER see anyone stretching before games when I attend? I see all of these hamstring issues and wonder what they are thinking..... Am I missing something here?

As far as Sanders goes, ASG mentioned we have 3 RB's all with similar skill set. Why keep all 3? We need a bruiser or even a FB much more in my opinion. Also FB's command less cash.

Maybe They keep both Sanders and Gainwell while letting Scott go and drafting another Larger RB?

I believe they stretch pre-game(and work on their celebratory dance moves ) before heading into the locker room to dress?

I'm sure he would go on to become a stud elsewhere. I like Gains too, but we fail to have that basher back. Pretty telling that Gains beat Scott for the #2 spot right off the bat

My new default homer team. Darnold looks very good. Last night I saw a token appearance by their TE. This is really the spot they lack right now. Remember how much they used Olsen? Would be a terrific place to go for Ertz next year

I go to a Packers Game each year and also an Eagles game. Never saw anyone stretching before a game. Not that I was looking specifically for it....

The Cowboys head coach officially ruled out defensive end Dorance Armstrong (ankle), defensive tackle Carlos Watkins (knee) and offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe (illness) for Monday’s game against the Eagles

https://www.si.com/nfl/draft/scouting-reports/johnlovett  sign to PS and see what happens. He's a homer and he is only 24. Of course we would need to put more weight on him to be a FB/basher. Anyone watch this guy play at Penn St?

Think its' before the gates open maybe? I know I have seen it on TV a few times. Plus they have the bikes on the sidelines

Another head to head where both teams are beat up early lol

Did we lose the "chip smoothie" program? I don't recall too many injuries under him

https://www.collegian.psu.edu/football/penn-state-football-film-review-transfer-running-back-john-lovett-brings-veteran-savvy-to-backfield/article_cafc9802-dac6-11eb-bac6-ab9ebc41ec9b.html  Here's some vids. But unless he could carry more weight he'd be just another clone like we already have. He did alot of damage at Baylor before he transferred to Penn St

Stine,we still have Howard on the PS,which makes me wonder why he is not rostered and Scott on the PS. At least then you;d have a variety to work with on game day

Do you think he actually makes the team better than his replacements?   If so, you pay him... me, I don't see it.  He's not a scrub, just not a game changer for me.  Good committee RB, I wouldn't pay for that.

" they need to give him the ball more"   ask the question of why they don't do that by now?    I don't think they are saving him for the 2025 season.

How early are you going in the stadium?   Prior to warm-up?    In gym class did you stretch prior to warm-ups?
