GB...this is where I actually agree with Ham. Hurts does pretty well under pressure.   When it's a bad opponent and it comes down to the end,  he has done pretty well.  There wasn't any pressure in the playoffs because the game was never close.  Really there was never any pressure in any game vs a decent team because it wasn't close.

So this year,I fully expect Hurts to play well at the end of games vs bad teams.  What we need to see is if he can play well enough to put his team in position to be in a pressure situation vs a good team.

I call BS! What do you consider third downs? We were fantastic at third down conversions under Hurts. Really massively improved from the year before in red zone efficiency. Plenty of pressure on a team that’s scrapping to make the playoffs to convert third downs and score in the Money Zone! Hurts is real good in those clutch key areas. He’s looked good at the end in close games. Even games he was clearly struggling in. Don’t blame him for the Ward TD drop. Reagors….how many now…..two straight in one game really Hurt. Even Smitty stepped out on that one TD. He successful already has come from behind and game winning drive moments under his belt.

Wouldn’t you call a LB that his responsibility is to pass cover 75 percent of the time or more a…..S?

Hurts was a Pro Bowl Alternate and you guys can’t do anything but b17ch!

He was an alternate in a fan popularity contest. Pro Bowl a joke nowadays

I think that is because the rest of the QB's backed out of the invite

Not hard against "Mother of Mary" HS defenses. We should have had those games put away in the first 1/2

I can't believe I keep taking the bait with this guy! 🤦‍♂️

It's Ham's "bait and switch. All talk about Hurts eventually leads back to Wentz. 2 games vs the Wuss should be "interesting" and what would Ham say if we lost them both due to poor QB play???

Anyway, I am counting on Howie to not WHIFF the picks this year. it's'a HUGE ask lol. But Lurie gave him another contract,so prove you're worth it Howie

FWIW,first USFL game on FOX at 730. Could be an interesting "farm" system

You guys are the hyper focused on praise and blame QB. I recognize it’s a team sport with while organizations of people a part of it. Players, GM, coaches, scouts, facilities staff….and yes I believe US….the fans play a roll. Heck even the media. All I’ve been really preaching. Team sport. Does feel like this organization is pretty solid. Working together with everybody knowing their roles. Having each other’s back and working together. Give me a defense with one special pass rusher and everybody else just good players…..but have them all play cohesively together and that’s very formidable.

New team to root for,the Philly Stars(IDK when they play)

QB's win and lose games that's why they make the big bucks lol. That is your general. You need the troops, but you need the general

If anybody backed out he would have played in it. Well not actually….he had surgery after the season. But ok….I’m not saying Hurts is a HOF level guy….but in case I’m the only one that’s noticed the NFC isn’t stacked with QB studs. Brady and ARod. Two super studs that are in the twilight of their careers. SB or league MVP level twilight but still those guys can’t go on forever. I think Hurts is better than Dak. Dak wasn’t looking very good at all before they brought in Cooper. Now that he’s gone I expect things to level out.  Kyler Murray is interesting. Short but super talented. Seems to fold at the end though. Missing the intangibles. Big arm with a very talented team…..but I’m the only one that cares about all that intangible stuff anyway. If Hurts continues to improve(which I have no doubts he will) I believe I’ll soon be ready to make the case Hurts is a better QB1 than Murray. The leadership, work ethic, mentality, coach-ability….on and on….all where Hurts shines. Jalen makes these things feel very tangible after all. Really feels like it’s missing with Murray. Maybe it’s just the moment with his contract and such….but feels like he’s light on those lesser measurable qualities. Fields is the wild card. Kid is super talented. Have to see what he’s made of. Too early to judge on Fields. Not thinking about tagging him or signing him to fifty mil yet. Let it play out. Cousins is the guy stat guys rally to. But he seems to blow it in the big moments. Been on good teams and really never accomplished anything. He slings it around. I feel like his stats ring hollow. But can except all his experience being beneficial. Really just leaves Stafford. Gunslinger with ultimate list of weapons and defense. Felt he left a ton of plays out on the field. That team is just that loaded. Goff took them too far backwards and they still almost won it all in spite of that. Glad for Stafford as I feel he earned that ring. I’ll take Jalen though.  NFC is the much lesser conference at this time. Think we stack up with most in the NFC(provided we hit on some draft picks and add one more vet). Don’t feel like we are inferior to anybody in the East. Want to win the division. Would be huge!

I have my hopes on the four seed with Siri getting his first home playoff game. This is a way too early jump off basing it on us having a strong draft and adding another vet.

50 mil QBs are getting paid now….31 mil tag feels cheap comparatively.

How much does the highest paid non QB make?

Cox and Kelce make 28 mil combined

Forget comparatively... what we are saying is that they will have to pay Hurts the biggest contract on the team,  by around double.   No longer a cheap option.  The guy can't be "learning or developing " for that cap hit.   If they have any doubts... he won't be here.

Wasn’t Nelson right in your range? You want a bunch of them, no? Is that not what you said?

So that means I think he is a stud CB?

8 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:

Every other QB is relevant. If a better guy becomes available we’ll go that route. Hurts making it tough to improve QB1 without some serious blockbuster stuff.

But I’m talking about every single player is always being evaluated. Very few are truly safe. NFL they just care about what you can do the next snap ….PERIOD.

So then what's your issue with us saying that they will move on from Hurts if they don't think he is good enough?

8 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:

You were saying that then. Every year is Hurts last …..or won’t even happen with you. But here he goes again. Kid is a fighter!

1st... you don't pay attention at all.   I was the one saying to keep Hurts 2 years and build up the rest of the team... in fact I used you as the example of the stubborn fan that needs to see its obvious that he has to go.   I mentioned that it would be tough to move on from Hurts without that due to the times we are in and his demographic.    The move has to be done without it being a question.   And it needs to be done with the legit attempt at getting the next guy.  If you paid attention,  you would have seen me debate this with BG and GB since a year ago.

The contract part comes up next year, it was never in question that 2021 was Hurts only opportunity.  Nobody said that.   We all said he sucks... but that's a different topic.

You can call BS.  I just stated the fact that he was never in a pressure situation vs a good team because there was never a time when the game was close at the end.    That's the simple fact.  You can twist things however you want about other stuff...but it won't change the fact Hurts didn't play a pressure snap late in a game vs a good team.

But he was great after the blocked punt against a Carolina team missing McCaffrey .. no denying that.  Very clutch that week.

Don’t see things that way. It’s all comparatively to the market and position. Paying a mid WR cost you 13 mil. Paying a mid Qb cost you 25 mil. Paying a mid LB costs you 7 mil. There are rookie contracts and the top dogs at their position. But also everybody in between. What are you going to do? Pay ten C because they are so cheap. Need everybody. Some can be role players. Need sone studs and playmakers. But most are good players you try to elevate with fit and playing time their strengths.

So your whole spiel you’ve been going on and on about thinking you are explaining to me is that QB me cost way more than everybody else? Well no s21t Sherlock. Breaking news. Water is wet. If the top guy at a position is making 50 mil and you are paying a guy 30 mil I don’t have expectations for him to be the best. But Long Snappers are super cheap. Sign up 50 of them. You’ll win the Cap Wars. Maybe even can overpay some of them.

Did you say you’d rather have Two or three Nelson types than a lockdown stud? I can work plenty of different angles. But your approach at CB of mediocrity doesn’t work for me. We had two corners that were below average and Robinson playing lights out at the Slot. Won the SB. Not the way I’d plan things because it happened once or twice though. Saw Bellicheat and others take one stud CB and shut down the opposing teams best weapon more effective than the All Mediocre Secondary.

I said the same. Just don’t see things as a do or die this season….or last season. I said every single year and snap is evaluated in the NFL. All anybody cares about is that next snap.
I gotta another shocker for you: every single player that isn’t good enough doesn’t have much job security.
Paid Wentz a gazillion….still sent him packing. If that doesn’t make things clear enough not sure what does. NFL big boy football. Gotta get results….unless your Rosie.

The question is: What is good enough? That comes down to options and salary. For Hurts….and even nonHurts haters realize it applies to everybody.

I’ll give you that. You said that. I’m saying he already reached a certain threshold of ability. Which I clearly believe is several notches above….what was the technical term? Oh yeah sucks. Several notches above sucks. His first year playing he put up what I’d call middle of the road production on the field tangibly. Off the charts intangibly. So unless he regresses not sure what we are talking about? He’ll get paid what the market dictates like everybody else. Some overpaid. Some under.

Do I really need to list the talent difference in the WR room? Massive divide. Get Hurts Deebo. If his passing yardage doesn’t improve I’ll personally start the give Hurts the boot club. You notice any difference in coaches? Like McVay is a offensive genius. Siri? Maybe middle of the pack….vs small High School teams as you say.
