Reddick at his size can line up as a DE. Imagine him lining up at Nose. Pretty large difference. But I’m not arguing every little thing. Just pointing out the money pointing at positions. That sample I’d target the Cornerback as a GM as the value position. We’ve seemed to believe S was great value for two good decades there. Think S adjusted and possibly is being overpaid now. Good thing is every offseason there is a few S to get your hands on. So if we can’t draft a S. Fairly easy to fix and afford. WR we’ve seen being available but costing an arm and a leg. QB you have to sell your sole for to get a top young guy or even an ancient dinosaur on his last leg.

So No Mas I was curious if you identified an area you’d utilize off that positional money chart if you were GM?

QB and the lines....CB to me is the most overpaid position.  The game changed... one stud CB to me doesn't work.  They don't " take away a side of the field"  or " lock down anymore"  winning one matchup doesn't work, you need to cover everything or the offense will find the open guy.   Especially if the pass rush isn't there.  The weakest part of our 2017 team was the CBs... it worked out great.   Stop the run,get to the QB...the front 7 does that.  I will take a good combo of safeties that disguise the coverage and that can help everywhere else.  I'll take 3 adequate CBs where I don't have to overpay.

I'll allocate money to fill whatever needs i have....when I feel the time comes.

Wow, one season playing and you and many others scrutinizing and you already are fretting over his seven year extension. You make fair points on this subject. And I get it. But it’s just way too early to discuss. I think he’s proven himself an NFL starter. He can play in this league for sure. He’s a weapon. He’s a leader. But too me, he has to improve in decisions and passing. I put him and Siri kind of in it together. Think both are probably middle of the pack in their respective positions. Both new at it though. So I expect both to be on the upward trajectory. Had a very clear year of film. Both need to self analyze and improve. I really have little doubt both will.

Again...you miss the point. In no world is Hurts a top 15 NFL starter without getting the money.    So it will be that he gets the big $$$ or he isn't good enough.   He will be eligible for the contract extension after this year.. it's not as far off as you make it seem.  He doesn't have 5 more years to develop and then we can pay him.  He will become that albatross of a contract that you hate..  or he will be gone. One or the other.  One more year,  that's it.

His contract is up after 2023 how is it way too early to talk about his possible contract extension

Right... after this year it will be a topic.

1. He gets the big $$

2.  He becomes a lame duck making peanuts on his last year, the NFLPA hates that ... we know especially for a guy like Hurts.

3.  He is replaced.

#2 is the situation nobody but Ham likes. Nobody meaning ... players, GMs, agents, players union.  It's not good business.

That’s two more seasons. Then can even use a tag. Got plenty of time to make any decisions here. At least need a second season playing under his belt. Always gives me hope because he improves every year.

It's not the last minute yet. No need to plan ahead 🙄

Yeah let’s figure out if we should pay Milton 80 mil. He’s had one season playing. Just decide now. So important to rush every decision. Geez. Just let some things play out.

We knew early we’d love to overpay Wentz. Just couldn’t jump quick enough to throw buckets of dough at him. Let’s get all the way out from that debacle before we make the next decision. Actually but have a third of our money towards dead cap players not even here. Give the guy something resembling a full team. See what he can do with that. Had Reagor, Quez and rook WR. That’s pathetic. I don’t want to judge much of anyone in that….other than his character.

Was just pointing out how the formula was different then. Can’t stick to the team building if 2017. S blew up on their pay. Gotta evolve and adapt and move with the times.

Rams had the top corner and pulled a guy out of retirement at S to win it.

Not quite sure what an adequate corner even is. Such a fine line. Describe adequate corners to me then.

Could be….or could be two more years. Or maybe three. Depends what actuallly happens.

If he plays awesome this season we’ll want to sign him long term. If not we can wait. It’s really pretty simple.

What are you afraid the QB money will jump through the roof and be drastically different from 2023 to 2024?

We could even not tag him and let him test the market. Not every player breaks the bank every time.

Ham THINK!~!!! THINK!~!!! This is the year WE decide if he is our QB,if NOT we need to set up for the 2023 DRAFT,so0 that 2 years just got shot down to 1

  • Author

Just no reason to make any decision like all that yet. Let’s double the data on him and give him a second season playing. No Mas you said when the tape was on him teams would shut him down. So let’s see that. If he can’t adapt and overcome the ‘book’ on him….then we’ll move on.

Why

  • Author

Seems like it is very clear the path to win todays SB is to bring in the great vet QB

Build up a great team then make the move for the proven stud that will actually think he can win it all here.

Why

Because if he's NOT we need to get set up for the '23 draft or have a FA QB picked out

I struggle to see the draft as much of a path for a QB

We are judging almost every position and player every year. Make decisions after the season.

Seemed like you guys were dead set on had to judge Hurts after this past season. All I heard from you guys. Then look now….he’s starting again this year.

Why? We got Wentz there and there are 2 good ones next draft(maybe 3),so if we need to replace Hurts we need to draft that QB in '23

Howies' ego wont allow Shew to start. He needs Hurts to play to get some type of trade value

I’m judging Siri. Is he good enough to accomplish any of these big goals we have? Seems like you guys are always stuck on QB. Like the mass media. Me ….I’m more concerned about the coach. How good can he be? You guys want Hurts to be a top ten QB…..but he doesn’t have a top ten Offensive mind running things. Pretty tough to do.

This is why I am pushing for WR's THIS time,to see if Hurts can DO this with multiple good weapons

Getting a Wentz there more proves my point I think. Tons of players and picks all for ….that guy playing with the commandos

Siri seemed to "get it" around week 6. That's when we started to look like a coherent club

Absolutely. A rook, Quez and Reagor isn’t much to judge on

Let’s get Hurts a playmaker like Deebo. Let him distribute to those type guys.

He became a great coach while Hurts beat up on bums.

He was a hot QB for a few years,so it doesn't prove your point. he looked BAD when we lost all the other guys on the team and personally I think he took 1 too many hits
