Siri seemed to "get it" around week 6. That's when we started to look like a coherent club

Some really bad coaching from Siri and Gannon in there. Can’t lie. Sone of it was so obvious.

Absolutely. A rook, Quez and Reagor isn’t much to judge on

Let’s get Hurts a playmaker like Deebo. Let him distribute to those type guys.

Too expensive. You're going to be shelling out big bucks for a team thats not near SB ready

Yeah the first 6 weeks was rough

Right,we can draft those playmakers. If Howie would have been smart we would have JJ and Smith. Add a big, fast tall slot guy also, then we can rotate him and Quez in the slot depending on the plays we want

Reich and Siri never really accomplished anything in Indy. So there really is nothing to say Siri and Gannon are more than just our development coaches. Build up sone young guys then bring in the big coach to finish the job.

Olave,Wyatt(I prefer Davis) then hit S with either Brisker or Pitre, then grab a CB with a round 3 pick. Then look at edge or O line with the other 3. Or move up for Jermaine Johnson, then Olave, then those round 2/3 guys

The playoff game away against the defending champs was tough also.

Welp, those coaches should be settled in now,so I expect better play from them. OK I am out to catch some Z's later

In one statement you say draft the playmaker. Then your next you say Rosie blew it. Trading  for a young stud that’s proven seems to solve all that.

Yeah let’s figure out if we should pay Milton 80 mil. He’s had one season playing. Just decide now. So important to rush every decision. Geez. Just let some things play out.

Ham, pay attention to what goes on around the league.  If Hurts goes into his last year of his deal ( making peanuts) it not a good vibe for your boy ...with him, his team and the league.  He would be lame duck.

Plus your tag... lol.  What do you think the tag will be $3 million?   He will be the highest paid player on the team... by far... but in your mind he would still be building and prove himself???

They’ve had time to setup their culture. Now they get to add to there building process. Crucial season to judge the coaching.

Love players in their contract years. Seems like they play hurt, tough and produce.

I’m not too worried about not getting 100 mil messing up Hurts. Think he’s had to overcome pretty much every year. He’s shown he’ll fight.

Off one season of playing Hurts doesn’t deserve fifty mil after last year.

Hopefully we can win it all on his rookie contract. Be great.

I start to wonder how great signing guys early really works out. Seems like they just ending up being mad and holdout for a new contract instead of playing for a bargain.

Main benefit seems to come for Rosie to backload things.

Rams had the top corner and pulled a guy out of retirement at S to win it.

Not quite sure what an adequate corner even is. Such a fine line. Describe adequate corners to me then.

The Rams had the best defensive player for the last few years playing on their DL.  Congrats for having Ramsey... you still need to match the other side.

Not sure what adequate CB is...well.. you have 64 starting outside CBs... plus 32 guys in the slot you could classify as starters.    So let's say you have 2 CBs in the late 20s to early 40s outside with say a top 10 or 15 slot guy.  How much money are you saving there compared to the top 10 guys you saw on that post.    I'll use that money to upgrade elsewhere.

If he plays awesome this season we’ll want to sign him long term. If not we can wait. It’s really pretty simple.

What are you afraid the QB money will jump through the roof and be drastically different from 2023 to 2024?

No...the money is already high.   It's just you don't get it.  He makes peanuts.   He isn't a 1st round pick with decent money...  if he performs at top 15 level... then he should get paid. He shouldn't be toward the bottom of the roster.

Put it this way... Reagor, Smith already make more than Hurts... two more 1st round picks will make more than him after we draft them this year.  If we keep him and 2 more 2023 rookies drafted in round 1 will make more than him next year.   "Lame duck for injury"  that's not gonna fly.   Bad business.

Now if he plays so so... and the Eagles fail to get another QB, then that's the only way you keep him at the bottom of the pay scale next year.    Then you tag him in 2024 for $40 mil or so... even if it's 35 or even 30 million... that's all cap hit... you don't do that for a guy you have questions about.

This long honeymoon period where he plays for a discount just isn't going to happen.

We could even not tag him and let him test the market. Not every player breaks the bank every time.

The QB tag is breaking the bank.  You don't tag a guy who you have questions about.

Just no reason to make any decision like all that yet. Let’s double the data on him and give him a second season playing. No Mas you said when the tape was on him teams would shut him down. So let’s see that. If he can’t adapt and overcome the ‘book’ on him….then we’ll move on.

Why

Correct...the decision will be made after THIS year... one year.   Not now.   No rush to do it before we see him play.... play for one year.   Only one year,it's what I've been saying , and pretty much what it seems everyone else is...except for you?

Seemed like you guys were dead set on had to judge Hurts after this past season. All I heard from you guys. Then look now….he’s starting again this year.

I guess you don't read well?  The whole conversation we have all been saying is after this year!

Talk of not spending money and picks on Wilson and Watson.   Talk of not moving up to take a QB this draft.

It's pretty much been Hurts for 2022 the whole time?    Why is saying he gets 2022 so hard to understand???

1 hour ago, GreenbleedinNC said:

This is why I am pushing for WR's THIS time,to see if Hurts can DO this with multiple good weapons

Right...and if not, the next QB inherits a better starting hand.

That's great for your novel turned academy award winning film.  In real life it's not going to fly with a young African American QB considered a top 15 QB while making peanuts going into the final year of his contract with no long term security.

We don't have to break the bank as far as top QB money... my point is top 15 QB  money is already 30 plus million. That's an albatross to your cap.

I don’t like your math here. Like every starter is decent? Don’t think so. Basically Nelson from last year would be your stud corner guy. Don’t see that working anymore.

I think decisions are being made every year. Signed Wentz to a mega contract. Bailed on him one year after that. If we decide to move on from Wentz and the biggest dead cap in history…..everybody always is on the block. That’s just the NFL.

Now you say that. Last offseason all you said was he’ll get one tryout year.
