Just amazes me that as knowledgeable as everybody here is that nobody hardly talks about the coaching. Guess you guys loved  the hire and think Siri is Lombardi reincarnate. I don’t see the massive upside with him. Think he’s middle of the pack hard working blue collar coach. Figure he at least helps develop some of the new youth. Get them ready for the big coaching hire. Basically I have similar thoughts and questions about Siri that many here have of Hurts. Whelp ….they in it together.

Sounds exactly like you are describing Hurts to me except the been on good teams part. if anyones stats ring hollow it's Hurts'

Yep….Hurts been just chucking up ducks to Megatron he amazingly comes down with.

Back to striving for bronze like we used to do. If you sign all mid level players, you will have a mid level team(aka the .500 I always preach about).

Do I really need to list the talent difference in the WR room? Massive divide. Get Hurts Deebo. If his passing yardage doesn’t improve I’ll personally start the give Hurts the boot club. You notice any difference in coaches? Like McVay is a offensive genius. Siri? Maybe middle of the pack….vs small High School teams as you say.

We're not getting Deebo, especially for the exorbitant costs you want to pay. We have 2 useful WR's we drafted (Smith and Quez). Draft another GOOD rookie and let them grow as a tandem pair. What good is it to have a WR who breaks free 55 yards downfield? Hurts can't hit him,so it's pointless. The Eagles mantra has usually been run first, which is fine, but we need to pass more. That requires a QB who can pass and that is not who Hurts is. A guy like Wilson CAN run,but he is always "pass first". After 6 weeks last year of letting Hurts run his BS college RPO, which was a failure,I was happy to see Siri make the changes. And while you can have success with the RPO it can't be EVERY play because the "P" is missing with Hurts. I want to build up the team to make it enticing so people want to play here and Hurts has this season to prove he can change, make the throws,be consistently good. Seems to me that is the plan since we are ALREADY looking at QB's. And who knows,in the right spot, perhaps Howie drafts a QB this draft(although I would have no clue who) So,this is Hurts prove it year and we have another easy schedule. SO I hope we play other teams at full strength because right now we have zero clue how good Hurts is. ZERO and I want that WR opposite Smith. I hope Quez cleans up his act and I am all for trading Reagor because he is not serious about his job. SO get another WR,that also puts a little pressure on Siri and the OC to pass more(successfully) and I would rather run this "experiment" (because thats all it is at this point) with WR's on rook contracts. Until I KNOW Hurts is my Qb for the next 5 years,I see no reason to spend like a drunken sailor until he proves himself

Did you say you’d rather have Two or three Nelson types than a lockdown stud? I can work plenty of different angles. But your approach at CB of mediocrity doesn’t work for me. We had two corners that were below average and Robinson playing lights out at the Slot. Won the SB. Not the way I’d plan things because it happened once or twice though. Saw Bellicheat and others take one stud CB and shut down the opposing teams best weapon more effective than the All Mediocre Secondary.

2017 didn't work for you?   The 85 Bears didn't work for you?  The stud Steelers defenes in the 2000s didn't work for you?

At least he can chuck it, Hurts cant do that. Our game is the short dink and dunk game since we've had Hurts. No 6-7 deep post routes they connect on for BIG yards or TD's per game.Nope non existent. We have ONE deep threat who can catch(Smith). The others are "replaceable" and should be replaced and that should be done as quickly as possible. As we have seen, Howie is after WR's,but only at his cheap price and that's not going to entice anyone. He is playing CHEAP because A) He's always done that and B) there is no reason to break out the checkbook for a middle of the pack(or less) QB. We had plenty of shots to get a FA WR,but with 2 round 1 picks,I see zero reason to spend the money when you can take another rook in round 1(BTW last years rook led the team in WR yardage,so rooks are "bad" and need developed? No, smith has the talent,we just need a QB with talent. Smith had 900+ yards with a less than stellar QB  and somehow we need that "vet presence?" WHY??? There is zero reason for it !! ZERO. Now about coaching. Sure they are all inexperienced and it showed. But if you never give anyone their shot, they will never go anywhere. Now get me my boy Olave in this draft(or your WR of choice). The top few will give you that threat on BOTH sides of the field. We have a quandry here because we need so many position fills but if you really want to know if Hurts is your guy, give him the weaponry. it's the only way to know

Saw Bellicheck have solid options all around the secondary....saw us light him up because his one stud CB couldn't cover everyone.    Your secondary relies on not having the obvious mismatch.   You get to the QB and you double the other team's best option, with the rest of your guys being able to play vs the other options.

In your fantasy world, your top CBis always going to shut down the opposing stud WR one on one.  Not going to happen with today's rules.

I'm not paying 20 mil for one cover guy.

BTW way Happy Easter/Passover or whatever you celebrate. The Philadelphia Stars play today at 4 PM(I believe). Last nights game was fun to watch. It relieves "the drought" we all have this time of year

AH what are the key words here? "Best weapon" as in ONE weapon, which is what we have now and why I feel it's essential to get ANOTHER "best weapon". Let them grow together and compete for stats. Iron sharpens iron and you aren't going to sharpen iron with aluminum foil

Don’t see things that way. It’s all comparatively to the market and position. Paying a mid WR cost you 13 mil. Paying a mid Qb cost you 25 mil. Paying a mid LB costs you 7 mil. There are rookie contracts and the top dogs at their position. But also everybody in between. What are you going to do? Pay ten C because they are so cheap. Need everybody. Some can be role players. Need sone studs and playmakers. But most are good players you try to elevate with fit and playing time their strengths.

So your whole spiel you’ve been going on and on about thinking you are explaining to me is that QB me cost way more than everybody else? Well no s21t Sherlock. Breaking news. Water is wet. If the top guy at a position is making 50 mil and you are paying a guy 30 mil I don’t have expectations for him to be the best. But Long Snappers are super cheap. Sign up 50 of them. You’ll win the Cap Wars. Maybe even can overpay some of them.

So again..  Hurts so making peanuts.  You like that now... my whole point has been that it's not going to be the case after this year.  If he performs, and they want to keep him as the unquestioned starter of the future, they will pay him.

The " average " QB gets paid an amount that changes the cap situation for a team.    30 mil is no joke.  Remember you needed " the savior" for that money when you didn't like the previous QB.  Now, you are ok with just giving 30 mil to your boy if he develops into an average QB?

I'm telling you... this front office isn't going to pay him that if they don't think he will be a top guy.  They will move on with a cheaper option via draft or pay money to an established guy.

You get the $$$ part.  You get that not paying a QB helps.  You get that this front office obsessed about the cap.  But you don't get that they aren't going to pay big $$ unless the QB shows he can be a top one?    Baffles me. The Hurts blinder is really taking effect on you.

Well the old man is a grandpa once again.

My point is you need them all. A few cheap guys that were maybe undrafted that work out. Plenty of solid good players. You absolutely need some playmaking difference makers. Why I absolutely make a trade for Deebo. I’d say Slay is our top guy right now.

You just stated how only signing mid level players is striving for the bronze standard yet are too conservative to do what it takes to get an elite First Team All Pro. Deebo lined up as RB even. He’s not just a deep threat Go Route guy. He’s more a bully tough WR. Which is a rare in this specialized track star position. Fits our identity perfect. Make the trade and pay him.

In my fantasy I have a super stud playmaker like a…I don’t know….Big Play Slay. Then an underrated scrappy slot guy….like Maddox. Need a solid second outside corner though. He needs to be a good tackler and have a short memory. I’d obviously like him to be lockdown in coverage but having everybody be great isn’t very realistic. I can easily envision us taking a corner in the first round of the draft though. To me that would be ideal. Have a young stud be coached by a supposed top secondary coach in Gannon and being mentored by Slay. So I’m striving for more than you at CB right now. Really see how it could come to fruition(which means it absolutely won’t happen).

First, I already think he is performing at an average starter level. Think his leadership, work ethic, personality and all that lift him up even more. He earned respect of the players right of the get go. Feel the respect he gets league wide even. I do enjoy rooting for him as the underdog hard working scrappy guy. Thing is he is super talented. But I don’t see his potential ceiling as a top five QB. Would love to have the best QB in the league. Don’t see how we get that other than drafting several QBs and basically just getting real lucky. Hurts hasn’t played well enough in his whole ONE season to justify fifty mil a year contract. I have an open mind and will let things play out on the field. So my opinion is too early to make a decision and judge yet.

You loved the cheap deal for Wentz. Yet are balking at paying that to the guy that beat him out of his job.

Hurts is terrible. Can't throw past 3 yards. Can't read a defense.

Bucs made him one dimensional.

We are not paying Hurts big money . . . ever.

We are replacing Hurts as soon as possible.

Are you referring to winning a SB with Foles and McMahon at QB? Love great defense. I hate the Steelers. So they don’t work for me…but boy their DC was one of the best. At Corner I think Robinson had a career year in the slot. Shutting down the slot was a huge factor for that defense.

Maybe. I obviously disagree. We’ll see. Bucs did more than dominate Hurts. Pretty much across the board. Siri got owned by Bowles. Do you think Siri is an elite coach?

Since we picked Hurts I haven’t seen anyone drafted that’s better so far. I believe Lawrence is a big time player. But it hasn’t shown up yet.
