Rosie talked about how he had to negotiate the new contract for AJ in about thirty minutes….before that 18th pick. Part of the trade was assuring a new contract could be agreed upon.

Makes total sense. Surprised Reich wouldn’t ever do it.

I mean... it's only been a couple hours...Foles clears waivers tomorrow...then everyone gets their chance at him.

I call them starters. We have that…now. Big tough physical guy that gets open and makes contested catches like AJ isn’t what Ward is. He’s the small reliable guy that gets open and makes the catch. Believe he’s great to have at practices and in the meetings. Hard working good guy that gets it done that isn’t the freak of nature physically and athletically. And yes…..love rooting for those type guys that are quality people and work hard to overachieve. Think they are great to have around superstars also. Helps create great work environments.

I love rooting for those guys too...great for your practice squad.

What Rosie said and what actually happened may be 2 different things.

This is the 1st draft in a while we haven't b*tched about HR

An interesting way to look at the Eagles’ trades over the last 2 years. • Carson Wentz • 2021 R1 turned into… • AJ Brown • DeVonta Smith • 2023 R1 • 2024 R2 and a ton of dead cap - worth it!

Sounds great as soon as you fill out 53 guys that are all Pro Bowl level. Until then I’m fine with Ward as our backup.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/eagles-grades-for-each-2022-nfl-draft-pick-jordan-davis-and-nakobe-dean-selections-get-good-marks/ar-AAWN9Gw     Similar thoughts to me. They were also concerned about the secondary, but like they also said,if he can be as good as Kelce,it won't matter

I am disappointed in Hightower,I thought he had potential, but I think it's time for him to go also

Hightower was/is not a Sunday player. He was faster than guys from New Mexico, Nevada, Wyoming, Marshall, etc. Big wup! And he had nothing else in his arsenal. He was a big play waiting to happen every game for Boise State, but his speed is average at the NFL level. I knew he would not make it in the NFL. The WR from Boise State the Bills got in the 5th round is definitely a Sunday player. Shakir will have an impact for the Bills even in year one as a 5th rounder. Hightower is done and never should have been drafted.

I read a lot of Reagor haters here. I too have been disappointed. But now the pressure is off. He doesnt have to be a big factor. The question is can he excel on the FEW plays when his number is called? I think he may surprise some here.

Also, I am NOT in the camp to trade away Dillard. Too many injuries on the Oline occur every year. That dude is a solid backup and better than a lot of starters.

Wow....takes 53 guys to be pro bowl to be better than Ward????    Never an extreme with you buddy. Never.  Lol

Reagor... you would think he is behind Brown, Smith,  Watkins and Paschal.   Pressure is off....probably the helmet will be off too.   Fighting with Ward for #5 WR it seems.      He seems to have pulled everything Eagles from his social media accounts....so who knows?

Dillard....I'm with Ham here... and you too.  I'm not giving away Dillard... but if a team gets an injury and they make an offer of a day 2 pick ... especially if it's halfway through the season.  I'm jumping on it.   I totally agree with everything you are saying, but the Eagles would have to be playing for the playoff bye week for me to not make that trade...otherwise I have to max out the value for Dillard. If it's round 2 pick,  I'm not even hesitant on making the move.

Reagor sucks. Your round 1 pick needs to be a "big factor" that's why you draft them there. If you can't hack the pressure, stop the pre-draft BSitting HYPE vids showing how "bad" you are. We didn't draft him for a "few" plays. Right now we COULD have Smith,Brown and JJ as our WR corps. Not many trios better than that at that age. Reagor's attitude of "no bid deal" on dropped passes tells me all I need to know. He's a PUNK after a paycheck and not willing to do the work. I would be more than happy to hold the door for him on his way out

IMO there should be a law that when you put out highlight vids, you have to put out lowlight vids. Actual fans don't get them, but I'm sure the scouting staff can as they do their evaluations. If you only put out highlight vids, that is the same as false advertising and it would take an eternity for any fan to watch every game/body of work. Can you put out any product now without listing side effects? Same should be done for fans watching highlight vids

And I am UP too early!!!!!🤣. Thankfully I am not awake yet 😜

Or you can pass on the videos?

Coaches have game film which fans can also get usually though might have to pay at times.

Can usually find lot of the bigger school kids game tapes online though many people make videos of a single players reps in a game so you watch the good/bad.

I would assume teams aren't watching the videos... game tapes instead?   Otherwise that seems like huge shortcut and not a good way to evaluate.  Game context matters , which you don't see on a highlight video.

Only other way is to watch every player every game

Yes I’d image coaches are also watching game tape as well or at least hope they are.

But was just talking about general fans if they don’t want to watch entire games lot of people put just clips of a single players snaps.

Dean has a pec injury which apparently caused him to fall.

Hopefully the Birds did their homework on him.

Eagles have done a pretty good job in that respect.

Word is the Eagles spent more time than any NFL Team on the Georgia players. Talking to coaches and doing their homework on all other aspects like attitude and work ethic. Dean and Davis were thought to be the hardest working players on the defense.... Dean says he does not need surgery this year and plans on playing day 1.

I like the draft. Hoping they sign a FA S and CB. There are a few out there. I also do feel Howie panicked a bit trading up 2 spots in round 1. Baltimore, unlike us, loves Safetys and I am sure they would have taken Hamilton over Davis if they had to choose. So we gave away 3 later round picks to insure we got a player. Other than that I am OK, Sucks Woolen got picked right before the Eagles in the 5th round! I really thought he might become something. Not too worried about the Center being drafted in the 2nd, although he could have been taken later on.

Brown trade insures 2 #1 WR's on the squad for the first time I can remember. Davis and Dean gives them 2 other solid starters. So we have 3 starters out of one draft. I really cannot complain over that. We may have Kelce's replacement also. That TE they got in the 6th may be a steal if he can stay on the field......

Honey Badger signed with the Saints so he isn’t coming here I know many were hopeful he would

I don’t I think they would have taken Davis. They went out and spent big money on the Saints S in FA and they have Clark who has been a quality S for them. Signs pointed they would have preferred Davis.

Hamilton to me was them just taking BPA after we stole Davis from them

Not sure we add anyone anytime soon maybe at some point during camp but I think we like the young guys we have on roster and will let them play throughout camp.

If we are not happy with how they perform then I could see us adding a late veteran addition
