I follow...I think you just don't follow that you assume that a trade partner would be there with the deal you are seeking.   You just can't acknowledge the unknown.  Why?

Seems almost crazy to think all those options wouldn’t. So i feel that’s a safe assumption. I’m not getting specific about exactly one spot. Not even getting crazy trying to get tons in return. Just being mild with expectations. So not real sure what’s a stretch there.

Torrey Smith excellent vet presence

Agreed. His stats were small compared to his career. But absolutely made a difference.

Who would be available I’ve repeatedly said really isn’t a factor. Listed off how the draft was loaded in that area with talent. Finding a trade partner I am assuming a bit. But feel from 19 back…somebody trades. Just really high probability the option was there.

But not a guarantee like the Saints offer.   You just really feel like it would be there with all your inside information.    That's a pretty arrogant statement to where only a person with narcissistic characteristics doesn't see it.

One option was a reality.  You would pass that up with the possibility of coming out of the bathroom with just your D##$ in your hands?    You can't run a business like that.

I actually was contemplating two more additions. But yes, can absolutely see one more stud rookie adding to this team helping. Not to make us better record necessarily right now. Not all like that. But we’ve been exposed on that third S bad. Wallace given up a catch every time they targeted him. Now we down a S. Not sure how you could not see a high pick S being great right now. He’d be starting this week. While even if while he was playing the worst that could have happened was he did what Wallace did. Really no downside. We’d be developing a guy for long term.

Ohhhh...now it's a stud rookie.  One we knew would be there ...after we knew another team would trade down.  We absolutely knew all these things to where we could pass up the opportunity to take advantage of the Saints?

Right because you are obsessed with that...being on the Hurts kick.  Forget his tangible running ability that saved the last 2 games...it was intangibles.  Gotta be that.

But let me ask you... you give me a blue collar mentality like Kelce and Dawkins, and put intelligence in them... don't you think the intangibles kinda naturally come out.  If you play next to a smart hardworking,  tough as nails player...doesn't that rub off?    The guy next to you is always in position,  and can physically make plays... i mean, it's a very tangible thing!

Have to think on this. But yes….intangible might not be the best word. Hard work, grit, will power….all shows itself to the team. Being even keel and consistent shows itself also. Being real and not fake shows. So really it’s all pretty tangible in our building. Guess I’ve been pointing to it because it isn’t what many judge on paper. Not the stuff of the Underwear Olympics.

Like a guy pulling a double team and spreading out a D. Another guy gets an easy catch and run. Doubled guy doesn’t get a stat. So many give no credit to his part. But it very much all worked together.

Is that intangible?

Wow... the speech and the mummer outfit...  lol

I kinda picture him knowing the game and hustling 40 yards downfield to make a block....having more impact on his teammates.   But hey,too each their own.

Maybe he hangs around after he retires and wears that mummer suit and curses while chugging beers...and that can help too.   Who knows, might not be his play was all that important after all?

That part matters of coarse. But I see him firing his teammates up vocally sometimes. Think he has that effect. He’s respected Gives straight answered with no BS.

I think Kelce does more than just his job on the field. I don’t think he just leads by example. That example is awesome, no doubt. But he brings even more to the table.

Why isn’t a rookie this year still here next year and beyond?

So do you think we are contenders this season?

Two stupid points...but again....I'll try to go slow...

One...uno ...1... player could be here for the future while he is a backup now.

But with the Saints trade you have multiple picks that can multiple into many future players.   I'd rather have more.

Plus again...known trade...vs a " possible " trade.

I like the known.

Right..maybe we break 400 yards rushing last game...it's obvious RB is a major weakness.

I don’t care about that. But if Sanders goes down we lose a bunch. Considering adding another high level runner would only have been helping us so far.

42 minutes ago, cunninghamtheman said:

So you just don’t see us as contenders. Don’t see Hurts winning in postseason.

I'm open to all possibilities.   Obviously you are guaranteeing we win...no possibilities that we don't....except it won't be due to the running QB not being able to run?  We already know you will be all over Siri and Gannon. Probably someone will drop a pass too.

The Saints trade was an obvious great move for the Eagles.  Looking better every day.

It was there,to be had.  Not a fairytale possibility that you are acting like a guarantee.   You skip this part conveniently all the time.

Acknowledge that your trade might not have been possible.   The fact you won't tells me all I need to know. But I'm not surprised...you like to argue in theory rather than facts.   Because you can't dispute theory, you always leave yourself the possibility of being correct...you have to set the bar where you can't fail....it's why you wanted that for Hurts.

Your saying it’s possible we couldn’t move back from 19? Don’t follow. I guess it’s possible. But why? I have a huge range to trade back to. Listing off second rounders. Plenty of guys. So the option was there. But always a possibility nobody wanted pick 19. Possibility we never could have done it. Like 1.5 percent chance it couldn’t have been achieved. So I’ll carry on like it was there.

So none of any of these things really matter for you No Mas. Only thing that can help your point of view is Hurts crashing so hard. Rosie doing the huge bold move i mentioned of trading him. Not going to happen. Your stuck unfortunately

I'm not stuck at all.... my team has assets because of some smart trades.  I think it will retool.  I also think the QB will get a contract that the Eagles can get out of after 2 or 3 years if needed.   In that time I believe that the roster can be built up the right way... long term.  I think either we see playoff success...or a new QB after that.   But reality , you could give me Joe Montana next year and I still think the roster turnover is more important.   I can buy time with Hurts if he doesn't win.  If he wins even better.

I’ll argue both. Sometimes I think in theory. I observe and ponder. But also do fact mostly. I do think out loud about many ideas. Sometimes knowledgeable fans bring up great points to consider why it is….or isn’t a good idea. But I just don’t like the lemming thinking and approach. Prefer to look at everything and decide myself. Sometimes it can work. Sometimes maybe not. But at least it not always carbon copy.

I’m not saying to trade back to just one specific spot. I was always open to many spots. So seems very logical to me. But always the case nobody desired 19.

Wasn’t really desperate. They needed Olave. Made the move.

What did they need him for?  You think he is worth the picks they gave up???

Listed off all these guys doing it. Your point really going to be based on…” I’m wrong because nobody would trade for pick 19?”

42 minutes ago, cunninghamtheman said:

I’ve seen many lopsided trades. Can’t see this one that way at all. Think on paper it looks favorable to us…slightly. But you caught in that smartest guy stuff. Winning on paper not really the goal.

Well... when trading picks...before they become players...winning on paper is exactly the goal in that situation.

But not afraid to think differently. Just because everybody else disagrees I’m not just abandoning my opinions. Gotta come with reasons fir me to reconsider.

Well...you don't want to hear the 3 big reasons.

1.  The guarantee of Saints trade vs a " possibility "

2. One player vs multiple players

3.  The rookie impacts

All very reasonable points.  But nope... a 10-1 team...need that 4th S, 4th RB, 4th CB...etc.

Not like I said I need all these picks in return. Not saying it had to be to pick 23. So tons of options. I never closed in this crazy great deal in our favor. Thought modestly. And was always being open. Never trading till one specific spot. Just back. Never got just one stud in hindsight. Just liked the strength of the class. Tons of guys and tons of options. So the thought we just couldn’t trade back seems really soft by you. You name calling and labeling over that is pretty overboard. Your making the weakest point possible. Your whole counter is I’m a narcissist in dream world because my idea was to trade back from 19? Im calling you out on that. Likely hood of us having sone trade partner is super super high.

How is getting a stud room this year so much different than next year?

One player vs multiple.

39 minutes ago, cunninghamtheman said:

But he was exclusively in five man fronts. Was just learning four man when he went down. Don’t really think BG or Cox really help teaching nose in a five man front.

Nah, you guys andmedia try to put too much on the QB.

Yeah... never heard you say...." o expected the previous QB to be a savior"   that was someone else...lol.

Lower the bar for this guy...but regardless Saints trade will be better for him.

37 minutes ago, cunninghamtheman said:

Don’t think it was great move. Only think it worked if you need to draft a QB. So the value plummeted if everything isn’t about trading all these picks for a franchise guy. Really only thing to sell the idea with. I don’t see great value. See adding a 2024 second round pick. Which is nice. But gotta think on what we lost.

What did we lose?  Vs EVERYTHING that was gained.   Spin isn't going to work.

So this April... you don't comment about the first pick...it doesn't exist.

See us as a new young team. So need as many pieces to grow together as possible. So a rook this year just speeds it up. This really adds to the reasoning it wasn’t a good trade. Different teams and personnel, long time coaches….not the same. Our situation…Caruso Al to get Siri these last two years of draft picks going. This is his team to ride with now.

You see us as a young defense?  Who do you see next year as a young defensive group out of 11 spots?
