I do believe that they wanted to put a good enough roster to see Hurts play with a legit squad.   For all the flaws in his game going into 2022.... the team was weak around him prior to adding AJ.  We could run, but that didn't give us legit judgment of his passing.

That was necessary for the long term.  I think luck happened after that...Bradberry and CGJ changed things big time...flipping a weakness into a strength.   And the schedule was easier than we originally thought.... Indy, Pittsburgh, Tennessee,  Green Bay were brutal.  Dallas without Dak... we got more luck there.  But here we are. 3 games baby....3 games.

But in reality.. all 3 of AJ , Bradberry and CGJ had luck involved.

Some,I'm sure Howie wasn't the only suitor for any of them. had to be some skill involved there.I can't way it's 100% luck. The luck was when they became available

I know... I've seen all of us want Howie fired at some point.

Idk... I guess for Ham once he is against you that's it?   It is what it is.  But in reality.. all 3 of AJ , Bradberry and CGJ had luck involved.

That's why I would call BS on anyone saying at the time of the Saints trade the Eagles were all in.   Still I can see the point of keeping a pick for the current year...it's valid.   I just can’t see any GM passing on that deal.. at that time.

I expect Goedert and Scott to play key roles in the offense.

Gainwell could be a sneaky play there also

The week off was fine,I was a little concerned Siri didn't push harder pracitces. I hope we play hard and get tested(and win) because we'll need that boost if we move on

Agree 100%.  It's where Ham is correct.. drafting a guy...you take control.  Otherwise it's luck involved by the player being available.

From what the reporters are saying...the player are chomping at the bit to get out there.

I hope because the practices were more like walk throughs after a whole week off. I understand you don't want anyone hurt,I was just hoping Siri would press them more, but I have to trust him. Some games(too many IMO) we come out flat. That can't last for 30 minutes

Lose or go home...to me it's different.

@cunninghamthemanNo, I don't think the team will be better next year. But they may surprise us too. That's the fun of football for me. The surprises and what not. I definitely won't be happy if they lose tomorrow. But I'm also not worried about it much. I'm just enjoying one of the best Eagles' teams I've ever witnessed.

Losing to the giants would be the worst!

For you…yes

For me it would be losing to Dallas.

Anthony Harris elevated to 53

Tight end Dalton Keene back on futures contract

We're not so innocent there either

1 AM so technically it's GAME DAY!!!!. Crush them gnats

Yeah...in April a rookie S would look great..  now CGJ looks better.   Lucky but worked.

In addition we have the 10th pick plus another 2nd rounder.. plus we're able to keep pick 89 used for Dean... if he ever pans out.

Better for 2022... and future.

Maybe get a good S with 4.3 speed versatile enough to play all those positions. Man up even. Cover serious ground across the back. Nobody breaks away for the long score.

Idk why we keep talking about it.  I don't think anyone disagrees Howie got lucky with CGJ.

Unless you would prefer to trade CGJ, Dean and the 2 high Saints picks back for the rookie S now... what's the point.  Just for the world to acknowledge Howie got lucky?    You can have that check .. for me, it's not the only time I think he got lucky.

How many top seeds traded away a first round pick? You say I don’t answer. I answer again and again is the truth. So just answer this.

We dominated the line first meeting...  I'm not worried about that.     I'm thinking things that can go wrong.    It's if Gannon plays soft...and gives Jones easy throws.  They keep the ball more than needed.

And if they decide to push Hurts left while taking away the run.

Talent wise , I like all the matchups.. maybe a stalemate on the interior with our OL vs their DL.

See so you have been paying attention

So would every other GM.  And at the time there were still " tons of holes"  this was prior to trading for AJ,  Bradley, CGJ..etc.  Still needed depth at DT too.

And let's use hindsight.. no way any GM would turn down the trade now.  Especially if S was the issue...CGJ is a beast. No way any rookie is better at the moment.

No idea how you came to this conclusion. No GM would give up the opportunity at a first round talent NOW! SB top seed year. 2024 and such draft helps nothing towards the Lombardi. Talk about Bronze level thinking.

I am hoping to see a little more BRUTAL pass rush this time around

Depends on the refs calling O holding. They seem to let it go much more postseason. On Brady refs get fined if they even think about calling it

SF is the only NFC team that I think would beat the Eagles now.  The reason is their lines.

We scooted by Giants backups. Lost to the Saints in Cowboys. No idea where you keep getting this stuff. Remember how at 13 wins you said it was unthinkable to lose to the Saints.

I read that is their game plan(trolling their site LOL) to keep Hurts off the field. We need those 3rd down stops, can't let them keep converting

Then Jones won't have the time to throw, that's what I hope happens

Gannon gives up the short throws all day. Barkley stay on schedule. This is exactly the way to keep it close.

Me too...but Ham I'd trying to just look at this year... so CGJ is the better option...that should end the discussion right there.

Only thing is if Ham just wants to keep pointing out Howie was lucky.  Which I agree.   On this board every poster has ripped Howie.   I'm being fair when I see him do a good job,I need to say it...this way when I criticize its more legit.

He gave Doug and Wentz a brutal hand in 2020...after the 2 of them won the division with crap in 2019.   I don't like that he is still here and they are gone.  But it happened.   He is here.  And when I see the moves next year...I'll comment on them without bias.  We can like moves and dislike others from the same guy.

Whoa you can like some and dislike others…all in the same season
