Reportedly looking to shop Brooks.

I'm definitely down with moving as many overpriced, aging vets on the decline as possible this year.  If they get a fairly decent offer, they should jump on it.

A trade would signify that we draft a guard in the 1st 3 rounds......

There was an interesting twitter exchange this morning that resulted in this tweet.

Chris Mortensen on Twitter: "@LesBowen I would not report the Eagles have internal unanimity on Hurts as QB1 but sources say the boss, Jeffrey Lurie, has instructed his group to prioritize making Hurts successful in 2021 as opposed to creating a true competition." / Twitter

I think that signals that we are going to take Chase, Smith, Pitts or Waddle at 6, and won't be moving up to grab a qb or down too far for more picks.

Another interesting note I saw was on next year's qb class.

Benjamin Allbright on Twitter: "Next year's QB class has some really interesting players in it too. It'll be interesting to see who steps up in that group... Howell, Rattler, Slovis, Pickett, Ridder, Strong, McCall, Nix, Purdy...etc." / Twitter

quincy_avery on Twitter: "Prolly missing the most talented in the class." / Twitter

Avery is a qb coach for guys like Watson, Hurts and Lance. He is really high on a qb from Liberty named Willis. Here is a highlight reel, some of which came against Va Tech, so he wasn't just beating up on Western Kentucky.

It makes sense for the team to see what they have in Hurts while filling other holes, and then putting themselves in position to grab a qb next year if he doesn't work out. It's a good plan, although I would personally move back in the draft this year to gain more draft capital for next year, since if they need a qb, you want to have as many high picks as possible to get one.

You just had to throw some soap opera sh!t in here didn't you? LMAO.  As if we haven't had enough of that

Kim is 40, so chances are as great she is his mother....

I read a report that there are Multiple teams interested in Ertz. Does that mean 3 or more? If so, chances of us getting a 3rd round pick is much better. Especially as we won't need the trade to make the Cap number now that HR is reworking many deals.... So, they get a 3rd for Ertz and a 4th for Brooks? Does that sound reasonable?

Maybe.  Guess depends on what they feel about Herbig or Driscoll.

How much could you get for Brooks because of his age and injury history?

depends on interest. He was healthy for years until 2020, so not thinking that is too much of a concern for most teams. All Pro for 3 years prior and a decent contract may get a 4th is my thinking. I do not think they pull the trigger for less. Does not make any sense.

Which was correct if you look at 2017 and 2018.  The entire body of work from those 2 years.   Look at all the stats,  ratings or whatever... like 12 games, half the stats come from 2 games.   With a ton of luck involved in some others, including a completion off a defenders knee and a double doink in 2 playoff games where he struggled to do anything.

Well, when looking at any player, you cannot pick and choose a specific period, but must take the whole into account. Do you think Fitzpatrick should never have been a starting QB? Well his TD INT ratio and QB rating is worse than Foles for their respective career. I am not saying Foles is a great QB, nor should we expect him to be. Just that he is a good game manager and has had his moments, just like Fitz has. Only difference is Fitz has played longer.....

IMO it’s more about shedding salary and purging the roster of declining aging vets.  I’d take a 5th and be happy.  Anything more is gravy.

When you look at all of these restructures, it is becoming apparent that HR is trying to make sure Hurts has protection this and next year. Why keep all of these aging men otherwise? I would much rather he cut ties with a couple so we don't have to pay the piper next year or in 2022. This will hurt our chances of rebuilding when you keep pushing the cap space into next year. Sooner or later we are going to have to deal with the devil. Either that or finally draft players that are actually worth keeping....... Another reason we will not go QB this year. May go O-Line though...

Our O line isn't that bad, what's bad is the guys that were SUPPOSED to be there were not. Granted a youth injection is in order only because we found out our BU's were inadequate due to lack of experience. The add in the buffoonery of paying JP

Could be another FA acqusition, but if we drafted one, I like the pair from OSU. One can be had in round 2, the other in round 3 as the 85 pick. You can find decent enough OG's later,so I would not spend anywhere near a 3rd or more for one

Just read that here too GB.

Nothing direct of course, could still be smoke - who knows?

Does show a continuation of Jeff interfering and them getting away from their board - all signs of a miss run team that can't stick to a plan

Like Pitts a lot - what if Chase is there?

Gotta be careful with this statement, otherwise you can't see a player declining. Take JP as an example. We re-signed him on his "body of work", released him because we saw his decline, yet were stupid enough to sign him again. Maybe we finally figured out Djax was not worth re-signing too

Cincy makes a ton of sense to trade for Brooks. They have the cap room and their line was the worst in football last year. But if they trade for Brooks and draft Sewell, it could go Sewell at LT, Williams at LG, Brooks at RG and Hart (who wasn't horrible) at RT, and then hopefully figure out center. Williams could be a top LG, so that gives them three plus players on the oline if Sewell is all he is being made out to be.

I think a fourth round pick is worth it for them. They have to get better on the oline, and paying $10 million for a year of Brooks is a lot better than hoping a draft pick can protect Burrow.

I take Pitts over Chase. His route running is better, he has more versatility and Pitts apparently has a great attitude. I haven't heard any negatives about Chase from a personality standpoint, but I know he isn't very fast and isn't a great route runner.

Saw a mock where we took Trask in 3. Anything above a 3rd and you'll have the QB controversy. I'm fine taking 2 UDFA;s in White and Thomas Give them a year and maybe they turn into something usable and I spent no draft capital(both are already better than Duds was)

Agree, Pitts is the pick and that's exactly why we won't take him

Some say ATL would take Pitts. I'm not to worried because I think a team with QB needs jumps into 4 such as Carolina

Talks of the Eagles trading Brooks now I can’t say I’d be surprised. herbig played well and is better at RG then LG plus think Driscoll is better suited at G and should compete there as well

ATL should either wave the white flag and draft a qb or trade back and take a corner. Nothing else makes sense. Miami or the Jets make more sense to take Pitts, but I think the Jets will draft Wilson and the Dolphins with take Chase.

It just feels like the draft is going to go Lawrence, Wilson, Chase, Fields, Sewell and then us picking from among Pitts, Waddle and Smith.
