Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

I feel bad for Geoff cause literally every beat reporter has said the same thing about sweat. And people on here have said that too

Roster bubble guys will absolutely get cut if they aren't vaccinated, and I don't see how they would be able to prove anything

What could they do anyways? Some businesses are requiring vacs.

Cry HIPPA and not have a clue what that means?

The League is stepping in it. Teams can't force players to get vaccinated.  If the NFL is going to mandate that all players get vaccinated, then it should be the one to create that policy and it should bear the brunt of any legal action that follows.  I am for getting vaccinated, but I don't see how the NFL can hold a team accountable for players getting vaccinated.  If a team were to force players to get vaccinated, the NFL would punish the team for doing that because there isn't a NFL policy on it. So, the NFL is putting teams in a no win situation.  And, the NFLPA would file collusion charges against a team if a non-vaccinated player were kept out of the League by teams.

My work (physical therapy) is forcing employees to get the vaccine. Just like the flu shot and other vaccines.

I find it odd that they can do this when it only has an EUA. I'm pro-vaxx, I highly encourage people to get vaccinated, but I also understand some people being hesitant. They aren't making it mandatory, but in essence it's still mandatory when they apply all these rules. It will be interesting to watch.

And again, please get vaccinated.

But, your organization is accepting the legal risk. In my opinion, the NFL is trying to pass the buck down to the teams, so that the teams are held accountable instead of the NFL .  The NFL should be the one to create the policy instead of trying to punish teams for not being able to control something it can't control.  So, either the NFL needs to have a required vaccinaton policy or it needs to not have it and continue to promote vaccine education and not punish teams (and also fans) for players not getting vaccinated.  I just feel that the NFL's stance on this now is the wrong one to take.  There are players who are not bubble guys that are not vaccinated.  So, it will be interesting to see if a team gambles and cuts one of those guys and the fallout from it with the NFLPA and elsewhere.  The NFL should be talking to the NFLPA to try to come up with ways to encourage it. And, if the NFL decides to do a required vaccine policy, then it needs to just do it and accept whatever happens legally.

I'm going to guess that each Individual is filing separately Instead of as a group of 22.

I think and I could be wrong but I think the prosecutors think they'll have a better chance Winning each individual case civilly than they would trying it as one big shebang with 22 witnesses.

Also each victims experience is unique and all of them at separate times and none of them knew each other.

It's not like Watson sexually assaulted 22 women at the same time or in the same way or in the same place. The extenuating circumstances vary in each case.

You can bet that Buzbee got word out in the massage therapist world to drum up clients. That fits his MO.  Do you have any idea of how many personal injury attorneys there are in the Houston area, yet conveniently all 22 sought out Buzbee.  Seems unlikely unless……………

There is a much greater likelihood of a civil verdict, where only punitive damages have the same burden of proof as criminal trial.  The majority of claims settle and claims get paid all the time where there really is no liability on the part of the defendant.  Insurers, companies and wealthy individuals many times prefer the sureness of a paid settlement over the possibility of a jury getting it wrong. Similar to putting innocent people in jail on plea bargains, especially those with limited resources.

As best as I can tell, only one has filed a police report and to date no charges have been filed. I would not use "victims” as it presumes guilt or civil liability, neither of which has been proven yet and kind of goes against innocent until proven guilty.  I believe the words you are looking for are accuser, in the case of the woman who filed a police report, and plaintiff for the 22 people who have filed civil lawsuits (it was more but I believe one withdrew her complaint when Rusty started firing back.)

Doubt it ever sees the light of day and the NFL drags their decision on like with Elliot and Brown.

That isn't a fair trade.  They would have to throw in a first also.  So a 1st, Dame, CJ for Simmons, Milton and Thybulle if you must 🙄

Plus 3 more 1st round picks and it might get done

In other unvaccinated news John McClain who has broken Texans news before is saying Deshaun Watson will not be Texans starting QB this season.

Take it for what it’s worth.

Add to all this Mike florio on WIP the other day also said that it felt like according to his sources watson was getting close to a settlement. But Watson’s lawyers like most lawyers in these type of settlements wanted the 22 women to sign a non disclosure form where nothing could be talked about or get out after he made the settlement. Buzbee said no dice and it’s kind of a sticking point as to why it’s not progressed in the last couple months.

Not at all.  Most professional athletes are under 30 and thus at risk for some potentially had side effects to their hearts.

It isn’t like one guy gets Covid and the game is cancelled. We’re talking about an outbreak. You’d need like half the roster unvaccinated for it to spread to enough players.

I doubt any games are cancelled this year.

"Responsible for financial losses”

Lower end of the roster players that do not get the vaccine are volunteering to be cut.  If an outbreak amongst unvaccinated players is deemed detrimental conduct, can it then be reasoned that catching Covid if unvaccinated is deemed detrimental conduct by a player thus voiding guarantees in their contracts and making them more subject being cut.

Why ???? After the NFL announcement about game forfeiture it is very relevant.

They shouldn't even be allowed on an aircraft if they're not vaccinated.  Indoors, limited space, minimal air circulation, prolonged exposure during flights that last hours -- if the NFL was strictly following health guidelines they wouldn't be permitted to travel with the team.

What's there to be hesitant about? If you have more than a grade 5 education it's a no brainer.

Well at least Howie isn't trading Ertz plus 2 draft picks to another team for NOTHING a la Gostisbehere.
