Yeah.  I wonder if it went like this.

Doc/Morey: "Hey Joel, Ben has done a number on his trade value and we can all agree he has to go.  But we can't make it appear like you don't want him around because we need to get more for him in a trade.  So do us a favor and go out and endorse him on social media.  But be careful, sometimes you go too far on twitter.............

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Ertz got his binky

I think Taylor and Jackson are the only IR guys

You wonder if they still sign a RB once the IR moves are made.  If they intended to sign Howard to the active roster I don't think they would have announced him as an official PS guy.

I really wish they would sign more guys from other teams to the PS.

People still spelling Sidney Jones's name as Sydney after all this time still drives me crazy. Hell, I would venture to say that it spelled incorrectly in here more often than it is spelled correctly.

I do it as a bit of a dig.  Sort of a "he went south” commentary. Loved the pick but his availability and willingness to soldier through was a huge disappointment.  Never seemed willing to work on his size, strength either.  One of those guys that believed his clippings.

Well if he didn't have a girl's name!!!!!

They have 5 RB's that can play gameday, don't see them signing more. It will be Dick Rod and Ridgeway coming back.

Sure.  But, whether or not another team would have taken that gamble isn't the question.  The question is can he stay healthy.   Time will tell, but in 4 years of college, he's really struggled with that.  Not sure how playing more games per season, against bigger and stronger opponents, will help him change his oft-injured status to become an ironman.

Well, he has pretty much broken everything on his legs and recovered so unless he starts on his upper body, maybe he is done with injuries.

I'm the same. If it gets competitive off comes the shirt. I can usually score 3 or 4 times before the gagging subsides

That's how you churn a roster to mine for new talent...  Happy about Clark back though.  None of the rest are surprising as individual moves, but the fact that it is ALL retreads from this team is surprising.  Not a single bit of new blood.

Surprised to see Richard Rodgers not on there.

Probably be signed as an IR replacement at 4 PM EST

Awoskia and Stevens are the only two that interest me. Clark, I suppose, although he's getting up there in age.

I suspect there are things in JJAW’s game that the new staff likes better than the Fulgham and Hightower.  Better hands, better blocker.  There were some things I saw in the PS that gives me encouragement with the new coaching group.  We saw a couple throws to JJAW where he could use what got him here, contested boxed out receptions where he could use his size against the DB.  Slant routes to Hightower.  That was his best route in college, where he could use his change of speed.  (Hopefully Hightower gets signed to the PS.). I am starting to believe that Nick designs his routes for what his receivers do.   That means, I expect to see some use of JJAW’s blocking skills.  He did look good on the ST coverage teams.

That's fair.  But I still want to churn some new WR blood... maybe a guy with return ability.  Maybe a guy like Antonio Gandy-Golden.  I don't know.  I just don't see how a team with such limited talent at WR can't find one guy worth bringing in from another team's cuts.

That's a good point.  Maybe they consider Hurts RB4🤣

I'm not so sure about Dick Rod now.  I think they really are going to roll with Ertz, DG and Stoll while IR for Jackson.  I'd rather TY McGill than Ridgeway but I understand that Ridgeway brings size that none of the other DT have.

Are they confident McLeod is ready for week 1?  If not, another safety would help.

Except the person who pulled the trigger on drafting him is still here and still has a hand in the 53.  So, it's not irrelevant.  If there was a new GM, maybe that would work.  If the new HC had full control of the 53, then that would be relevant.

But, I focused on JJAW, because I contrasted him with Antonio Gandy-Golden, another WR.  I don't follow LBs or CBs as closely, but you could replace JJAW with Josiah Scott and another CB off the waivers...

What has Gandy-Golden shown?  Man amongst boys at Podunk University (same reason I am not sold on Malik Willis).  Not enough to make the 53 at WTF.  Not much last year.  Seems like trading a JAG we know who is more developed for a Jacquet type WR (intrigued with the athleticism), who is not quite a JAG.

There's a tie for the official College of the Philadelphia Eagles with 3 players each.

Memphis and Stanford

What happened to Marvin Wilson? Thought he was added to the PS?

Have a feeling he gets re-signed at 4pm and Stoll waived and then added to PS. We dont have any TE on the PS right now.

Probably has to go a day for COVID testing to become official

Still feels weird the Eagles kept so many LBs. Has to be another shoe to drop.

Emphasizing special teams has to be the reason

Or... he could just start over and break the same things all over again.

What this tells me is that teams do not have to immediately release a player when they are awarded a waiver claim player.  Denver has time to try to trade Freeman now.

I suspect but don’t know for sure that until the 24 hour waiver window is over that there is an opportunity to trade the player based on how often we see X player was waived, wait, he was traded for an Y round pick.

no reason to put him there... they will just call him when they need him.  Likely to be added to the roster once Jackson goes to IR.

Agreed.  But... given the PS expansion, I see him as an important insurance policy for an OL that is really old.
