He sure did put up some great numbers last night.

I can't root for B'More, ever, so that was a bad loss by the Colts. Should have, could have, won.

I’m surprised so many Wentz supporters think he’s so weak that he would willingly sit out games. 😂🤣😂

Year    6 or fewer wins   7 or more wins

2020    12  20
2019    10  22
2018  12  20
2017  11  21
2016   9  23

year  6 or less  7,8,9  10+
20   12  7 13
19   10 12 10
18   12  9 11s
17   11 11 10
16    9 13 10

So, path to 7 or more wins for the Colts and Dolphins, which would put the pick in the range of 12-18 or so.

Dolphins (1-4)
Beat - Jaguars, Texans, Jets, Giants, Jets.
Maybe - Falcons, Panthers, Saints, Patriots
Lose - Bills, Ravens, Titans
That leaves the Dolphins with somewhere between 6-10 wins.

Colts (1-4)
Beat - texans, jets, jaguars, texans, jaguars
Maybe -  9ers, titans, patriots, raiders
Lose - bills, bucs, cardinals

that puts the Colts somewhere between 6 and 10 wins.

draft picks between 11-18 for both.

Exactly. The Birds losing will just likely happen whether rooting for it or not lol.

Yep. I think when all is said and done we are likely to pick somewhere around that 10th spot with our own pick (give or take a spot or 2).

Colts need to start winning some games.

Wentz and the players might not want to sit, but the team may sit him if their season continues the way it has. Fortunately, their schedule gets easier and they should be getting some guys back from injury. I'd rather have the Colts contend and play him all year for the first than to be greedy and cheer for them to continue losing just for the team to put him on IR for some ticky tack reason. Which I think would sit really poorly with Wentz as well as the rest of the team.

I'm not so sure it does. I mean they have their division games (5 more I think) but Tenessee are a good team and I'm not sure they go 4-0 vs Jags and Texans just because division games don't work quite like that. They've still got SF, KC, Bills and TB... Plus they play the Raiders and Pats. I'm not sure their schedule is going to get too much easier.

Just for Comparison sake...

Wentz (1-4):
113/173 65.3 1,322 YDS 7 TDs 4.0% 1 INT 0.6% 264.4 YPG Passer Rating 99.4 12 Sacks 101 YDS
(Rushing 16/73 0 TDs)

Hurts (2-3):

118/182 64.8% 1,365 YDS 7 TDs 3.8% 3 INTs 1.6% 5 273 YPG Passer Rating 93.3 10 Sacks 84 YDS
(Rushing 43/256 3 TDs)

Compared to what the stretch they just played and were in those games till the end it gets a lot easier. Yeah division games are always a toss up but, those teams are still bad. Raiders are about to implode and the pats have been playing poorly. SF meh who knows.

lol Someone's gotta do it.

But looking at the stats, there's not a huge difference in the numbers.

Let's say that they remain fairly similar stat and win/loss wise... which isn't exactly an apples-apples comparison, since the play different foes and have different coaches, but lets just say that they remain pretty similar.

Was the trade the right thing to do? If we get their 2022 1st, does that make it worth the trade (that, along with getting his contract off our books)? Suppose Hurts is let go at the end of the season and we draft a QB with one (or two via a trade) of our 1st round picks, would that make it worthwhile?

Of course, we won't be able to really answer those questions for a few years, once everything shakes out and we see how we end up. But those are questions that will need to be answered.

Yeah you're right it does get a little easier but it's still a tough schedule. But hey that is good news because the best thing for the Eagles is that the Colts are in play off contention but don't make the play offs.

I really don't see the point in comparing Wentz and hurts. Wentz was broken here and needed out and wanted out himself.  Hurts was his back up. I don't think the eagles did it because they thought hurts was better or the future or thought they were gonna get the better end of the deal. They had to make the move regardless of of they thought it was worth it or not.

Unless they go "hey Carson, how would you like to have a first round pick next year to help you AND screw Howie in the process? Take a few games off. Although the division is so bad they'll stay in the hunt.

I wonder how Carson would react to the opportunity to screw Howie/Lurie? That might answer questions I have about how 2020 went down. I'm probably nuts but I wonder if there's more that we haven't heard.

I see a big difference: Hurts has pretty much the same numbers passing but is in another sphere running it- on top of him throwing.

Still think Hurts will be our guy moving forward long term, and by now I really enjoy how much that is pissing of some guys here.

He must be thinking this is his "prove it" year. The Eagles are going to be able to get a QB in the draft if they don't like him. But if he persuades them to trust him, they're going to have a lot of capital to build around him.

Hurts is averaging 5.95 (round it to 6.0) YPC, Wentz is averaging 4.56 (round it to 4.6 or 5.0), so they're actually pretty close there, too.

Taking Hurts in the second round was one of Howie's top 5 bonehead moves. Especially after just passing Wentz. It started the whole dam mess.

That last bit lol!

I like hurts so far. Want to see him succeed.

I agree that taking Hurts to be the backup/ Taysom Hill was a dumb move, but what really started this mess was Wentz getting injured in the playoff game,  basically never being available for the playoffs, and Carson’s complete unwillingness to change his game to keep him from getting injured.

Considering right now Hurts is over 80% of their offense alone I think there is a good chance he will be here a while.

Disagree. It brought out Wentz' true colors and accelerated his inevitable decline. If anything, it was the perfect move to expose Wentz and allow us to move on, get value for him and get out of his gigantic contract.

I don't think you know what you're talking about.  Hurts made a lot of sense at the time, and we would be lost as a franchise without him now.

They are gonna bench his ass. No way they let us grab a 1st if their season is already in the tank

1st or 2nd doesn’t matter

howie will still reach for a 4th with that pick
