I think Smith could have had a great rookie year with a better QB and better HC. I think he'll have a great career but he's getting screwed in his rookie year

Everyone on here keeps saying there's no one good enough in this upcoming draft

That doesn’t mean that’s what the eagles think

Oh.  So you’ve been able to see the All 22 tape already?  Get the F out of here.  Yes. Hurts sucks and can’t see the field.  We knew that before NS came around.  But spare me the NS brilliance BS.  If the guy’s system was so GD good he would be able to scheme Hurts into being a little better then he is.  Just because Hurts sucks doesn’t mean NS is off the hook.  They both are in over their heads.

And I told all of you.  When Nick was hired and when we drafted Hurts.  A sign of a good Head Coach is not if he can get wide receivers open.  JFC.

I don't think anyone is saying Sirianni is brilliant.  I just want to see the offense run with a QB first before saying he's a failure.

I'm not sure Bill Walsh could scheme Hurts into being better than he is.

Oh.  But his "scheme” clearly works.

It does, the proof is in the pudding but please continue your unhinged rants that have no salient point other than "everyone sucks"

So nuanced

Which is why Maliata who knows zilch about football was ****ing last night because the Bucs seemed to know their plays, no crap, of course they did.  It’s not just about the run, it’s how and where, NS has 3 running plays, that’s about it.
Even Aikman asked NS this week if he thought about Not calling the plays, lol.   He has a point, dude is a first time HC with 100 things going on in a game, maybe he shouldn’t be.
Makes you wonder what Josh McDaniels said or did, not to get hired, I’m not saying he would be better.

The Eagles thought Hurts and NS were good ideas.

Which reinforces the idea that they will force themselves into loving one of the QBs and going after one

@RememberTheKoy, here is the 6 QB's the Bucs defense has faced.  We are talking about the 32nd ranked passing D ( well, until they saw Jalen Hurts and moved up to 25th ), that was down their top 3 corners.  One of these QB's is not like the others.

Problem is they face some bad teams now and will sadly win a few resulting in false hope for him.

He flat out told us that he wasnt used to an RPO offense and had to go seek help. But he's built an offense for Hurts, and if Hurts could read a defense, or be semi good at his progression this offense would look way different.

Ok well he's tried to tailor an offense to Hurts and it hasn't worked. Now he's just looking incompetent for keeping with it.

They want to see what kind of passer Hurts is which is why they are throwing so much.

And I'll continue to make the case that you can't assess Hurts with this offensive scheme. It is impossible because it isn't a real offense vs a normal defense.

I think at best they win 2 of the next 5.  Chargers and Saints beat us no doubt, Raiders is on the road and they will probably rally around the interim coach, that leaves @ Detroit and @ Denver.  Denver has a defense that can deal with a running QB, they held the Ravens to 23 points,  and looking at the Lions schedule, we are the winnable game they have in their next 5, and they will win, because, well, that is just how it will go.

Think about this, we went from Wentz having an MVP type year, Foles then winning the SB as a backup, to having Hurts be completely dysfunctional as a qb in just four years. Sure there were a ton of things that happened to cause this, but iot all starts with Howie, relying on old oft injured Olineman, missing on high WR draft picks, leaving us with almost no vaible recieving options and drafting Hurts in the second rd instead of getting our team actual help,  all of this helped to basically destroy Wentz in the process.

For me this all boils down to a franchise-changing decision Howie made to draft Hurts.  Nothing personal against Hurts, who seems like a fine person -- but I don't think we'll ever get the true story of why Hurts was drafted where he was, and the Eagles are now left with him as their starting QB by default.

I've always believed drafting Hurts was spearheaded by Doug and Weidl, but in the end Howie is accountable because he's making the final decision.  It was another case of outsmarting yourself by trying to outsmart the room.  They became infatuated with the Saints running packages for Taysom Hill while Drew Brees was still running the offense.  Howie said himself he called Wentz to warn him Hurts may be the pick if he's available at #53 and Howie said himself Wentz expressed reservations.  Howie needed to do what was best for the franchise that night and draft the best position player for the overall roster instead of a gadget -- he failed.

Ertz to the Cards for Gowan and a 5th.

I like it.

Been in a meeting all morning, any news today.

@Alphagrand do you have all 22 yet ??  Curious to see the play that Reagor dropped when Sanders was wide open in the flat immediately.  Second possession 3rd down play.

sad day

Yeah I remember that he was and Ian rappaport said it in his tweet about the trade that the eagles loved him. So I went and checked the draft from this year and the eagles had two picks in the top of the sixth round where they could have drafted him.

Probably why he was so emotional after the game. Short week, we were already down a TE so they needed him to play before sending him over to the cards.

Sad to see him go, but this team needs a lot of pieces and glad we sent him to a team that can compete.

I'm sure.  That's why he was so emotional afterwards.  He likely knew it was his last game.  He gets his wish and goes to a contender.  It was time.  It's been time.  He was a great Eagle.  No hard feelings on my end.

Good trade on the surface. We are now in lose mode for the next 11 games

who else can we trade away to help lose games

I guess we might as well keep losing with Hurts Lets shoot for a top 5 pick

I assume he had some idea of it and when hurts missed him he was probably praying it happened.

This isnt true at all, we legit had a shot to win.  Dumb penalty and a miracle throw to Brown between two defenders
