It wasn't a "slump."

He had a historically bad season. It wasn't just a few game stretch. Benching him at that point was the right thing to do. We were out of the playoff hunt and all we would do is risk injuring him.

Looks like it was a slump because he didn't suck before last year and doesn't suck now......... As for a historical bad season Hurts says hold my beer. And I'm sure glad we didn't injure him. We just disgruntled him to the point he wanted out. 

That would be bad challenge by shanahan. He’s over the line even before the fumble.

Wentz was horrible last year and isn’t playing nearly well enough to contend for a SB this year…nor did he in any year of his entire career besides 2017.  He’s not that good.

Is he better than Hurts?  Sure, there’s probably 50-60 better passers in the nfl than Hurts.  But that doesn’t mean I’d rather have Wentz than that Indy pick.

If I’m coaching the QB is getting buried by the outside rusher on every zone read. I’d let it be known before the game that’s what was happening. After the third time (max) they’ll stop running zone reads.

No. He’s getting x-rays but the thought is nothing broken. Looks like a high ankle sprain which is usually worse though 

Colts have actually looked pretty good the last few weeks. Wouldn’t be shocked if they made a run at a wild card.

Need to give Mailata a couple weeks off to heal before he regresses further.  
 

Ideally, not that it matters at this point….but ideally they can scrape together 2-3 games out of Lane at RT and Dillard at LT so that they don’t have to trot Mailata out there on crutches.

If Dillard shows well in consistent action, then bring Mailata back at RT when he’s healthy.  If not, then bring Mailata in at LT and keep him there.  Let Toth or Driscoll go to RT when Lane can’t go.
