On the afc after watching the past two weeks, i don’t think any of the teams sitting in the top 4 spots are as good as the top 5 teams in the nfc. i think the Bucs, rams, cowboys, packers and cardinals are better teams.

The ravens could easily be 4-3 or worse right now if it wasn’t for Clyde Edwards Helaire fumbling the football and miraculous come back against the Colts. I think they are very beatable and their injuries might eventually catch back up to them especially in the secondary

I would say the bills are the best team and give the toughest matchup to a nfc team in the super bowl. but they seemingly always have issues with the Titans. So if they can avoid the Titans I would think they would win the AFC. However I don’t think Josh Allen has been as consistently great week to week like he was last year. Don’t get me wrong he will have some great games like Kansas City And Washington. Against the dolphins today they were bad offensively for about 3 quarters of that game similarly to week 1 against Pittsburgh. I still think they’d be my betting favorite for the AFC.

we all know what’s going on with the Chiefs.  I’m not sure they can correct all the issues they have. It’s not just defense where they are terrible but their offense can’t stop turning the ball over. Add on i think they have hill and kelce and for the past couple years it was enough. Hardman, CEH, Williams, Gordon or Pringle needs to go to another level imo.

i don’t think the titans defense is very good  if they faced those 5 teams in the nfc i think they’d get blasted. So they’ll be in a shootout and i think some of those NFC teams are better equipped to beat them. it’s why the cardinals destroyed them in week 1. I kind of think the rams, Bucs, cowboys and packers would also light them up

I think you saw today that Cincinnati is not ready to be a true SB contender. I think they’re still learning how to win and how to play consistently week to week.

The Raiders I just don’t believe in them. I get that they’re good I just don’t think they’re great and I think if they play the Titans, bills and the top five NFC teams they’d lose.

The Browns I think have a baker Mayfield issue. He is not good enough when you have to play better teams and have to win games.

the chargers have come crashing back down to earth. Their defense has regressed and herbert is struggling right now.

I actually think Dan Quinn is just a good DC but not HC. He had great talent with the Seahawks but the defensive scheme and guys bought in to be that good. The cowboys are not nearly as good as those Seahawks team’s defenses. But they don’t need to be. They just had to be average (and really I’d say they’ve been slightly above average— some stats skewed as Carolina, the giants and the eagles had a bunch of yards in garbage time) which they are and their offense (when Dak plays) is good enough to score enough points especially if they are getting turnovers.

I was just listening to the Eagle Eye podcast and was thinking about how afan recently said Roethlisberger isn't a franchise QB. Then I remembered a conversation on here from the summer where we were discussing the Steelers and how consistent they have been over the last 15 years. Afan made a counter point by saying it isn't because they're the most well run organization, but because they've had Roethlisberger at QB for all that time. 🤣

I like afan but I had to share this after remembering it made me laugh.

Lions allowed the highest passer rating to opposing QB’s as well as most yards per attempt and the game plan was to take the ball out of the QBs hands.

Yet by taking the ball out of Hurts’ hands, we played our best game of the season.

Hmm...

He wasn't the answer, Hurts won't be the answer. But the answer will come at some point.

People remember Howie comparing the Hurts pick to when they passed on Russel Wilson right?!
They couldn’t afford to lose another QB like Wilson in the draft.
Huge miscalculation by Howie. I hope the media goes back and finds those clips. Straight from the horses mouth.

Hurts is nothing like Wilson. Not even college Wilson.

Wilson has a cannon... it's why he was late coming to football, he was drafted to play baseball because of his arm.  They are both short, they are both good athletes, but where Wilson has a cannon, Hurts has a pea shooter.  But, he did have a 70% completion pct. in the tough Big 12 conference.   🥱

Yesterday was a nice win for a team that desperately needed a win to not give up on the season.  Of course, a loss yesterday might have been enough to give up on Hurts.  But, they went with the 'don't let Jalen throw the ball plan', and "saved the season" yesterday.

Afan swings in the breeze amidst his opinions, because he changes it to offer the best possible defense of Howie he can.   Back then, Wentz was the issue, so consistency fell on the QB's shoulders.   Now, Hurts is struggling, so the fault must lie with the rest of the roster.  So, Rothlisberger goes from the reason they were consistent, to just the benefactor of the consistent Steelers roster.

It isn't hard to understand where afan's motivations come from.   Just like yesterday he took a victory lap because the Eagles blew out the Lions, as if yesterday's game actually meant anything to the long term success of this franchise.  I just wonder if he types all this nonsense out with a straight face.

Smart move by the coaches.   Of course, it makes you wonder why they didn't do this sooner... but I think the answer is:  They were trying to make Hurts into an NFL QB.   But, the change was made, because the mandate for yesterday's game was:  "You do whatever you have to do, in order to beat the Lions, we can't afford the PR hit if we lose to that hapless franchise."   So, they were allowed to go towards the running game and just letting Hurts run.

This team really would be better off with a single wing offense, than trying to run anything resembling an NFL offense.

I agree that this is probably what they were trying to do. But I still don't get how their approach gets them remotely close to assessing whether he is or not.

So the Jets are pumping up Mike White, even Saleh saying he might be the future going forward. Howie should call them to ask about Wilson.

Damn.

Seeing what the Jags/Jets doing with their QBs is sad. Those are prime opportunities for trades.

What more is there to assess?  Even yesterday he would roll out with completely clean pocket.  One 3rd down play the pocket is excellent, he rolls left for no reason at all and misses a wide open Goedert, ball badly behind him.  Stand in the perfect pocket for another second and should be an easy completion.  I think by now the team knows he can't be a starting NFL QB.

I'm not arguing that bud. What I'm saying is asking him to pass at the rate he was (before yesterday) was not going to help anyone assess or evaluate him as a long term nfl QB.

They asked him to make a single read and throw it or give it.  He failed to do that well.
They asked him to drop back and read the defense, and he has ignored the left and middle portions of the field.
They asked him to hang in the pocket, go through his progressions and deliver the ball on time and on target.   He holds on to the ball, bails unnecessarily, usually to the right, and throws the ball to the right side.

Ultimately, he is only comfortable when he's on the move, not when he's standing in the pocket.

They wanted Taysom Hill, according to them when they drafted him.   They got him... with a 2nd round pick.  Meanwhile, Taysom Hill was an UDFA.

Howie said they didn't want to miss out on another Russell Wilson, like they did before.  So, they over drafted Hurts.  Good news, they didn't miss out on Wilson 2.0, they misidentified Hurts as Wilson 2.0.   Not sure which is worse.   Personally, I think misidentifying is worse, but I could be mistaken.

And not give the ball to the other team or take an ill advised sack at every single critical moment of the game

I’m giving him a full season to show improvement.  I don’t think he is the answer but I know wentz wasn’t.

that’s my point. Wentz is garbage and that’s not going to change.  Hurts deserves the benefit of the doubt though just like I gave went for 2 seasons too long.

Wentz isn't garbage bro

He’s only had one game where he threw 48 passes, the rest of this season he’s averaged just under 30 throws per game.  Yes, the Eagles weren’t running the ball enough but Hurts also wasn’t sustaining enough drives.

What Sirianni needs to do is keep on him about going through his progressions.  73 QB runs against 256 passes on the season — 28.5% run rate is getting way too high.

How are you so dense that you can't understand he means garbage player, not garbage person? Picking a fight from your high horse for no reason.

Can we get Wilson for Hurts straight up?

So next time you want to jump in and defend another poster like a Karen.....Bish........Know what the F you're responding too.

Talk about jumping off a high horse and picking a fight........

Garbage relative to other NFL players. Not hard to understand. Scream at a cloud somewhere else.
