Eagles will be Buyers the next 2 days. Only 1 game out of the playoffs. With Reagor getting hurt I can see Parker being an Eagle by the end of the day.

Draft pick impact...

@LeanMeanGM

Chargers 34, Eagles 24

Almost tempted to think the Eagles are due for a win at home, but I doubt Herbert plays two bad games in a row -- and decent QBs have shredded the Eagles pass defense this season.

Bonus prediction -- 20+ carries from the Eagles RBs, Scott leads the Eagles in rushing yards.

It was just a matter of time.

I'm not arguing that bud. What I'm saying is asking him to pass at the rate he was (before yesterday) was not going to help anyone assess or evaluate him as a long term nfl QB.

Im torn on this.  I think it did help some.  Showed he can't truly follow progressions, bails too much from the pocket, his footwork isn't good, and his throwing motion is too elongated.   On the other hand it made him too responsible for the offense which doesn't help him.   He was better with a real play action game yesterday but Detroit is so bad I don't put much stock in his performance.  His throws never lead the receiver to space, he can't anticipate, he can throw to a spot OK.  Best thing is he doesn't turn it over at a high rate.  I'm rambling.  When the season began I hoped he would be good but he just isn't.

And this is why the Eagles are in the predicament that they are currently.  They shouldn't have been buyers last offseason, they should have been digging out of the cap mess, but instead, they doubled down on it.  And this year, they paid the price... If they allow themselves to being fooled that yesterday was some great awakening or whatever because they beat up on the Lion cubs, then they deserve all the vitriol this fanbase can send their way.

They still need to be sellers at the deadline, even though they really can't afford to sell much of anyone, due to the horrific contract structures and restructures that Howie has given out.  The Cox deal could be done with this year's cap, but the implications beyond this season are complicated but are most definitely not good for the Eagles.   But, frankly, moving him to get out from under the future hits in 2022 and 2023 might actually be worth it to this team, irrespective of the return they get from another team.

They have 2 games against HOU, 1 against the Jags and Dolphins.

4 likely wins, should be enough for the division crown. Good thing they have already swept Indy.

Wonder if they would like to trade for Sanders

They have a 3+ game lead on that division (with head to head tiebreaker locked up now).  I don't see the Colts catching up.  If the Titans go just 3-6 the rest of the way, they end up 9-8, the Colts would need to be no worse than 9-7-1, which means they'd have to go 6-2-1 or better to win the division.  That seems like a big ask for them.   The Colts still have the Bills, Bucs, Patriots, Cardinals and Raiders on their schedule.

Not with Sanders' tendency to get injured.

Crazy idea of the day:  Convert Reagor to RB a la Cordarrelle Patterson.  Great speed, big enough, would be a true RB screen threat.

I think Howard would be more their taste.

Colts must be sick to their stomach, they win that game yesterday, it would almost be their div to lose.

We’ll have to sign him to the 53, Id guess now.

Right? He absolutely eviscerated him pre-game, and then it 100 percent came true. That highlight video didn’t even show a fumble on a scramble.

I can see Howie acquiring a player or two between now and the deadline.  If the right LB is out there, could be the chance for a cheeky trade, same for a DT or DE.  Esp if it means someone like Dillard moving on

Hope one of them is Russel Wilson otherwise he's just pissing into the wind

Agree. And if a TV host is saying it, you know every opponent this year is thinking the same.  Carson is so resistant to change some of the little things in his game that he will always a be a QB you feel is a turnover ready to happen

Still can not understand why Gainwell was completely ignored yesterday.  He's far more talented than the Giant killer, Boston Scott.  Should be a mix of Howard and Gainwell moving forward, not Howard and Scott.

I said that since the middle of last year and got a ton of flack for it.

Reagor is a poor mans Patterson/Poor mans Devin Hestor.

Get him in the backfield and run screens/reverese/misdirections with him because he's fast, but cant run route and get open

even on screens and running plays Reagor looks stiff and unnatural.

They asked him to make a single read and throw it or give it.  He failed to do that well.

I don't disagree with any of what you've said and ultimately yes I agree he's not the long team answer. My argument however is that they've not actually asked him to lead an actual nfl offense. They've asked him to run an extreme pass heavy offense against a defense knowing that's what is coming.

I wonder how Tom Donohoe took yesterday’s win? The Eagles ran up the gut on Alim McNiell and Milton Williams had a sack.

1 hour ago, Alphagrand said:

He’s only had one game where he threw 48 passes, the rest of this season he’s averaged just under 30 throws per game.  Yes, the Eagles weren’t running the ball enough but Hurts also wasn’t sustaining enough drives.

The offense aren't sustaining drives bud. They aren't sustaining drives because the scheme is pretty damn bad and they don't run the ball enough. Whether Hurts can operate in any offense is another question but pretty much every QB would struggle in the one they've run this year.

Milton is one of the young players I'm most excited about (not that there's a ton of choices).
