Kyle Brandt says Devin Hester should be a HOFer, he was the very best returner of all time.

I think I agree. Is it enough for the hall? I think so, maybe not first ballot tho

If I had a vote he'd be in the HOF.

He was the very best at what he did returning kicks/ punts not to mention he did it in the biggest game( though they didn't win )

I'm not sure they have ever put a guy in the hall as just a returner but why not?

If a kicker or a punter can make it why not a KR?

If there were ever a case to put a KR in the hall Hester would be that guy.

Between his musical ability, and Pages writing ability.....  incredible, unmatched.

Add in Bonham's hard hitting style.  The music stands the test of time

one of my fav (sad JPJ was not there)

I think my fave is Ramble On. The bass line is kind of hidden, but if you listen to it, it’s just, perfection. And a perfect example of the band. Big screams from Plant, loud thumping guitar from Page, and of course Bonham. But that bass line is so sneaky good and completely drives the entire song, I love it. I’m also a bass player for full disclosure.

I will say that Entwistle was a better player…his goddamn fingers were just so big but nimble, nobody makes it look as effortless as he did. But I think JPJ’s lines were a bit more complex.

So was Cooper the correct answer?

I think he had 3 TDs in that game.  Djax had 1 wide open.  Shady I think caught 1.  Who else?

Cooper is correct. DJ, Shady, Celek and Ertz had the other 4 TDs.

This is a Bill Walsh quote!

It sounds much better when Joe Montana is your QB.

I think so, given that other specialists can make it.  He would be the first and last, as the specialization should be dying out.

I hate that show so much.  If there's a group of people that need to watch out if I get my AR permit approved by the Soviet, it's those guys.

Im not sure what's going on here but I'll throw out cliff Burton as one of the best bass players of all time.

Mock Off-Season

Draft 1st two rounds - Stingley, Hutchinson, Jordan Davis, Brandon Smith, and find way to get back into 2nd round for Jaquan Brisker

Free Agency - Marcus Williams, Re-Sign or Tag Goedert, and maybe take a flyers on DJ Chark and Tayon Brown.

Not everyone's cup of tea but Les Claypool is probably the most talented bassist of all time IMO.

Should Wilson agree to get traded here, would you trade our 3 1sts for him?

No.

No. If it's multiple firsts you spread it over multiple years. In theory Wilson should improve your record, making the future 1sts lower. You could also still use 2021 picks to build the roster.

Completely agree with your analysis.  And love Ramble on, always loved playing that one live. Also for full disclosure, guitar player here.     🙂

I am sure there are more here in the blog. Guitar players are a dime a dozen.

While trying not to get massively flamed for saying something positive about Howie, his last 2 drafts are looking pretty solid so far.

From the 2020 draft:

- We now have 4 decent quality starters in Reagor, Hurts, Taylor, and Driscoll(I guess one can saying Hurts is below average but still)

- 1 solid contributor with good potential in Watkins

From the 2021 draft:

- We have 2 good quality starters with a ton of upside in Smith and Dickerson

- 2 pretty solid contributors in Milton Williams(after Howie was highly criticized for choosing) and Gainwell

Plus the only big FA signing in the past 2 years he’s done has been pretty much a slam dunk in Javon Hargrave(Howie was also highly criticized for signing him over the past year)

Maybe the man has learned from his mistakes and is actually doing better.

What argument can be made to call Reagor or Taylor "decent quality starters"?

Taylor started a few games, looked lost most of the time and had one ok game against the Lions.

Reagor is on pace for 350 yards in a 17 game season playing second most WR snaps.

how about 2 -1st's this year with a conditional 1st/2nd next year based on playing time etc....?

QB1 traits, folks

A 33 year-old QB whose success is predicated on his mobility to a decent extent?  Hmm .... I'd be wary about offering any more than a 1st, a 3rd, and a future 1st -- which would put me far out of the bidding.  His wife would not let him come to Philly anyway.

Agree with everything you said except Reagor. not a quality starter, huge miss. Probably wont pick up his option

Agree with both that it’s probably a reach to say Reagor is a quality starter at this point. He hasn’t done much yet. I do think he’s trying hard out there at least the past few weeks and developing his skills. He’s still only in year 2 and might still turn into something.

Taylor, in my opinion was a project and not expected to contribute anything last year, but he has shown a ton of development in the amount he’s played and when he’s played meaningful snaps this year he’s been reviewed pretty favorably. He’s now also won himself the starting position, which I know is not a huge feat given who he’s against, but still shows that he’s making good progress.

I mean Burton and Claypool are unique and very talented.  I am not sure you can rank these musicians in different genres. Of course Claypool, was auditioned for Metallica but was rejected.  I think if you go by genre Burton was certainly a pioneering thrash metal bassist and Claypool is the same for funk metal.  Could you say the same about Geddy Lee for progressive rock? I think probably.   I think if I was making a list I would think Mike Watt  for punk. Joe Lally for alternative, Darryl Jennifer for hardcore, Entwhistle for rock.

I want to say yes but with this team's cap and talent I think we should say no.
