Used to laugh about that guy. Now when I hear his name I think about his daughter.

Knowing what you know now would you still have taken DeVonta Smith or went with Parsons or someone else?

Parsons is the best defensive player in that draft, his impact on is yuuuuugggeee, he can cover, stuff the run, and rush the passer.
Until Smith gets a competent QB throwing passes to him, we won’t know how good he is. We already know he’s a route running machine.

White Shoes isn’t in but he should be.

I think Mitchell is the NFL career leader in kickoff and punt return yardage.  I just don't think he was ever as dynamic as White Shoes or Hester.

While trying not to get massively flamed for saying something positive about Howie, his last 2 drafts are looking pretty solid so far.

From the 2020 draft:

- We now have 4 decent quality starters in Reagor, Hurts, Taylor, and Driscoll(I guess one can saying Hurts is below average but still)

- 1 solid contributor with good potential in Watkins

From the 2021 draft:

- We have 2 good quality starters with a ton of upside in Smith and Dickerson

- 2 pretty solid contributors in Milton Williams(after Howie was highly criticized for choosing) and Gainwell

Plus the only big FA signing in the past 2 years he’s done has been pretty much a slam dunk in Javon Hargrave(Howie was also highly criticized for signing him over the past year)

Maybe the man has learned from his mistakes and is actually doing better.

Our drafts have been better post Joe Douglas.

Most folks don’t realize how big Brian Mitchell was. He played at 225 and he ran hard. He was a tank.

I would have not taken a WR that high.  I would have taken Kyle Pitts.

James Jamerson of the Funk Brothers - as good as any of them.

And a plug for Jack Casady.

Entwhistle is my favorite though.

Jamerson  has so many legendary songs it’s a bit mind blowing. He’s absolutely top tier.

I love Claypool and Primus, but that’s a love them or hate them band. I like that they collaborate with Tom Waits, my absolute favorite musician.

Jack Bruce is also often overlooked, super melodic player that could hold his own with Clapton and Baker.

Oh I could talk about bass players for a long time.

I actually think McCartney gets short changed sometimes as a bassist. His lines were never overly complex, but they fit the songs so incredibly well, and as a technician he’s unreal. I always think of him as the Bret the Hitman Hart of bassists.

Yep.  I’ve always said, I think Whipping Post is one of the best rock songs ever made.

Knowing Allman is on Layla, makes that song even more bad ass.

Name another returner that's in the Hall strictly for being a returner.

I liked Parsons in the draft, said a few times pre draft I wouldn't mind eagles drafting him though I knew Howie would never use a first on a LB.

Holy cow we passed on a CB

His impact is helped big time by Dan Quinn telling him to go out there and tear sheet up.

Seemed like Hurts improved on some things. He's still not trusting his pocket though

Unless there doesn't.   They are getting rid of the return game with legislation.

Yup Gannon would probably have him cover Tyreek hill😒

Yup - he had one direction and the only time it changed was when tacklers were bouncing off of him.  One of Andy's best FA additions.

Gannon doesn't believe in LBs covering receivers. I mean not as far as I can tell.

A great bass player to me that flies under the radar because she was strictly recording is Carol Kaye who was with the Wrecking Crew. She recorded mainly with Hal Blaine and Earl Palmer who both are awesome drummers too. That studio band played on hundreds of hits and killed it.
