Ok. Thanks for your input.

All this is, is RTK trying to pump up intangibles because that is Hurts strongest quality. I will take arm talent, reading defenses, actual QB things over silly intangibles.

Question for you @RememberTheKoy, why is skipping a bowl game such a red flag, but running away to another college after losing your job OK ??

I brought up this very thing yesterday.

It's okay to sit a bowl game, but there's no flags about wetting your pants in a bowl game, getting benched and then running from competition.

Or there are, he's a troll and/or an idiot.

@RememberTheKoy how bout that leadership Hurts displayed when he opted out of a preseason game cause he had to poop.

So …. If we win and Minnesota loses we’re in ??

Yes , that is the benefit of playing the worst teams in the league. Football Gods wanted to embarrass us by giving us a easy sch just to get whipped in the playoffs.

Our playoff game whipping will prove the NFL should have never changed the playoffs by adding more teams.

Reagor has a monster game and winds up with 40+ yards

Ahhhhhhhh the flexible definition of "monster game" swoops in and strikes again!

Jermaine Johnson is someone I can see Howie picking.

Jermaine Johnson is a player I chose in one of my mock drafts.  I didn't know he was that old.  Hopefully Howie has better intel than I had.

Man, I get wanting to stomp on RTK, but why trash Hurts in the same way?  We know Hurts's limitations, but you work so hard to diminish everything about him.  What is it about Hurts that implores you to treat him like RTK?  This is one of the characteristics of being a fan I just don't get: trashing a person because they aren't good enough to be great.  Finding any morsel to tear them down.

I want a different QB for the Eagles but if we have to settle for one, which the majority of teams have to do, Hurts is OK.  He does all the things we want a QB to do, even the ones we consider to be great: works hard on his craft, tries to improve, never says negative things about his team publicly,  works hard to develop relationships with his team, gives up his body to try to win.

And again, so you can't simply reply with "if you think Hurts can be a SB QB...."  I don't,  but until we have a guy that fits that bill, Hurts isn't the worst option.

To be fair that is a monster game for Reagor 😂

Its funny that 40+ yards is considered a "monster game"

Aside from pass the ball well...

Kidding (kind of) aside, it has less to do with Hurts and more to do with the troll himself. He will spend all day talking about these intangibles Hurts has and this leadership, while sweeping his flags under the rug and putting another kid on blast for looking out for his future.

It's to show him what a trolling piece of garbage he is, not to go out of the way to bash Hurts.

But when I (and a lot of others) talked about the depth of the draft, I meant on day 3. That’s where the Covid opt outs help.

The draft is fine this year...it's just not top heavy. Having a top 10 pick last year > this year.

I love the "I don't hate Hurts, I hate people who don't hate Hurts" way of justifying one's vitriol.

Today's scheme is to run the ball and keep running the ball.  By the time we hit the middle of the 3rd quarter the OL will be in full control of the game.

No one hates Hurts.  We hate people pumping up imaginary traits over actual QB skills, and then bashing Pickett for 4 pages for skipping a bowl game.  Ironic questioning a QB’s leadership when your hero lost his job and ran away to another college.

I wonder if Nick has a few plays just for Smith

Happy New Years Eagles Fans. What another crazy year.  I hope everyone is healthy and mentally strong as we head another year in these crazy times.  Well January Football is here.   No Turning back now.   The Eagles are 1 game away from potentially clinching a playoff berth.  The 4th in 5 years for this franchise.   The Eagles are also approaching 9 wins or more for the 4th time in 5 seasons.    This season hasn't been the prettiest but with a New Young Coaching Staff, A Young QB being the starter for a full season and our Super Bowl Vets leading the way.   They have turned the franchise around in one short year.   We are witnessing the best Eagles Running Game in our entire History because of this amazing O-Line that has improved dramatically from last season and stayed healthy overall.  They have come way too far to drop this now.

Take care of business against Washington and everything is in front of them.    Anything is possible once the playoffs begin.   Just get into the dance. Just 4 shorts years ago, everyone wrote us off once Nick came in to start.  The rest is history.  The Eagles are 4 wins away from the NFC Championship Game.   5 Wins away from the Super Bowl and 6 Wins away from being Super Bowl Champions once more.   But again they must handle their business first.    If they do what's needed to be done over the next two weeks, they will enter the playoffs on a 5 game winning streak.  Washington is coming off one of the worst losses in NFC EAST History.    I don't expect them to be as bad as last week but The Eagles can't afford to slip up here.   They have to take care of their own business.  The Eagles have played better on the road this year.   They must finish strong.

Once we got past the insanity of January 6th I found 2021 to be a really good year.  Of course being 74 years old helped a lot.  No work to go to.  Sheltering in place with the red-headed girl of my dreams was not hazardous duty.  We both thrived on the peace and quiet, but empathized with all the folks whose lives and incomes were disrupted.  The foul taste in my mouth from the Eagles 2020 season has been very pleasantly replaced by the accomplishments of the 2021 season. So right now as an Eagles fan, I am smiling. It helps that I don't have any fundamental objections to a running Quarterback.  I grew up with Fran Tarkenton and Roger the Dodger as opponents, and revelled in the accomplishments of Randall Cunningham, so with the exception of his noodle arm, I'm finding the quarterbacking of Jalen Hurts quite entertaining ... time will tell if he improves, but for the moment I'm enjoying the ride.  2021 also saw me get to the point of being cancer-free, and that is a blessing as well.  And the fact that my mother celebrated her 98th birthday in very good spirits is the icing on the cake.

So Happy New Year to everyone here in the Blog, and no matter what your 2021 was like, I hope 2022 will be even better for you and your loved ones!

Not surprised that you're unable to keep up with what's actually being said.

It's actually concerning (and okay, a little funny) to me that people are unable to understand context in a conversation and then get offended over a point no one is making.

I agree. Just looking at it from the Covid super senior perspective. Those players have made day 3 much better, and the draft as a whole deeper. Maybe we’re getting typical round 4 talent in round 6 this year.

I don't hate Hurts. I've just seen enough and don't think he's the future. I also think he limits the offense so I don't want him starting next season

Wouldn't be surprised to see those players added to the DL where we need a quick infusion of talent rather than developmental players. The older prospects will be stronger and more ready to contribute right now.  And given the age of our DL, that's what we need.

I don't think we would care as much to draft an older CB like Jobe, where already having grown man strength isn't as important.  But in the trenches it makes some sense.

One position where being older shouldn't be an issue is Running Back.  Since so few Running Backs are worth signing to a second contract at the end of their rookie contract, age isn't a factor.  Having "grown man strength" may actually be an asset.

You are prejudging the outcome.  If and when they actually do play a Playoffs game, try to enjoy it.
