It’s kind of funny people pointing out how easy the Eagles back half of the schedule is, and that’s how they got to the playoffs.  It should have been apparent to everyone when the schedule came out that the back half was a cakewalk compared to the first half.  I had the Eagles at 2-7 for the first half and 5-3 on the back half.  They exceeded my expectations.  But beating up on the league’s weak teams is what the NFL is all about.

The Ravens were 6-5 last season, beat 5 cream puffs and made the playoffs at 11-5

The Bucs were 7-5 last season, beat 4 cream puffs and rode the momentum all the way in

Obviously those 2 teams had better rosters than the current Eagles, but the team did what it is supposed to do and they’re fully deserving of a playoff berth.  Making the playoffs is a great thing for this current roster because it will raise expectations faster.  Next season the expectations will be 11-12 wins.

The likely outcome to this season will be a 38-20 type of loss in the wildcard round — but so what?  Folks around here act like that’s the worst thing that could happen for the development of a contending franchise

I think we can not dress seven.  Wrap Kelce in plastic.  Hurts, Sanders, Johnson, Goedert, Smith and Slay.

Folks like Mailata, Dickerson, Cox, Hargrave may need to dress, but not intend to play.

Kelce is on his 127th consecutive start. At the least give him the ceremonial first snap, if not the first drive, then call it a night.

I love the Eagles, But I have been around too long. Need one of 2 things in order to win a SB

1) Elite QB

2)  WIthout #1 - you need an All Decade Defense

Since the majority of SB's are won by teams with elite QB's, with few exceptions - the majority of those exceptions revolve around a TOP defense.

With the remaining being complete outliers.

Realistically, we do not have an elite QB or a top defense. I'm sorry if the truth hurts. I'll enjoy the game more, if I look at it realistically.

This is true. We are not in a good position in regards to the next few years with cap space.

Yep. I believe I had them at either 7 or 8 wins also. Only slight disagreement I have is the weak back half of the schedule is only part of the reason they got to the playoffs, the other being just a very weak middle to bottom half of the conference. Not trying to take credit away from them, they did what I wanted which is making the playoffs by winning, not by backdooring their way in.

while going into la and leaving with a w is a big challenge it’s an still an opportunity to grow and a good building g block for the future and young guys on the team

So what's the consensus ideal first round matchup? Bucs? I keep flip flopping between Tampa and LA.

Am I correct in that looking at strength of schedule and all things go right that 11 is the highest our Miami pick can be?

I like the matchup against the bucs. When the Eagles played them back in october they were still trotting out Wilson/Singleton/Taylor as the main LB group, Dillard was the LT and Mailata was in at RT, Goedert didn't play because of covid, they didn't have Howard or any power running game, and Hurts has come a long way since then.

The Eagles are almost a completely different team than when they last played the Bucs.

I'm good with either, but I cant bring myself to think that a (even banged up) Brady led team is the best option!

Bucs IMO. They're just the most banged up.

Yeah.  I’d love for Gannon to get another crack at Tom Brady.

LOL-  I'd rather face Stafford. He makes more mistakes.

What's the word with Brandon Brooks?  Supposedly an 8-12 week injury which occurred in week 2  Also did they mention anything about Herbig's injury from yesterday?

Herbig finished the game, so I would guess he is fine.

I understand.   Our school board president was in really bad shape during the peak of Covid back in the late spring of 2020 when it first hit.  He was on a ventilator for about a month, back when the ventilator was the last resort and for most, was just a prolonging of the inevitable, but he eventually pulled through.  Back to normal now a year and a half later.   To a certain extent, I believe it comes down to a frame of mind and a willingness to fight it.  The human body has an amazing ability to heal itself when the mind is willing to put in the fight (not in all cases obviously), but many times.

I think a positive mindset helps but ultimately the consequences of the disease, I think, are very much outside the control of any kind of conscious effort or mindset.  I do think the mindset impacts the perceived disability from the disease.

I mean he didn't pick the best place to sit.

Call me crazy, but I'd rather face Zona.  I dont want to face TB with our defense.

Least likely scenario so I haven't given it too much though. At first glance I would probably agree but I think Murray running around could give this front 7 some fits.

Maybe the Eagles could sign Antonio Brown to play CB before the game.

The word is "Sayonara".

Dallas. The answer is always Dallas.

Honestly, they may be the best matchup. They haven't beaten anyone other than us and the Chargers very early in the season. Zeke done, Dak struggling and Gallup now out. Plus, they are professional choke artists.

Yes he and Sanders should be on other teams next year. Neither can stay healthy.

Cant depend on either.

Sorry.  Arizona and Tampa would both have to lose this weekend for that to happen.
